In 2009, the updated 997.2-generation Porsche 911 Carrera debuted with revised styling, an updated PCM infotainment system, and a more powerful flat-six engine with direct fuel injection. This 2009 Porsche 997.2 Carrera Coupe is finished in Basalt Black Metallic over a Sand Beige interior and features optional 19” Carrera Classic wheels, Sport Chrono Package Plus, heated and ventilated Comfort Seats, Bose High-End Sound Package, Dynamic Cornering Lights, and a 6-speed manual transmission. It was sold new in California and has been upgraded with GiroDisc brake rotors, RSS control arms, H&R lowering springs, an FVD exhaust, an IPD intake plenum, and a Bilt Racing electric steering kit. Recently serviced and with approximately 54k miles showing on the odometer, this Carrera S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Tennessee.
This 997.2 is finished in Basalt Black Metallic and features red brake calipers, dual FVD chrome exhaust tips, an electric sunroof, a speed-activated rear spoiler, optional dynamic cornering bi-xenon headlamps, daytime running lights, LED taillights, and optional 19” Carrera Classic wheels. The seller indicates the wheels have been refinished in a lighter shade of grey and are mounted on aftermarket studs with tires showing 2019 date codes. The full front end is preserved under clear paint protection film along with the rear quarter stone guard areas. Some rock chips are present on the hood and front bumper cover as well as stress cracks around the edge of the passenger-side headlight. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The Sand Beige interior includes optional heated and ventilated power Comfort Seats, automatic climate control, cruise control, the Bose High-End Sound Package, and an aftermarket Audison audio unit paired with the factory PCM head unit. The seller notes some scrapes on the passenger seatback and driver’s door pocket as well as signs of wear on the leather shift knob.
Factory-rated at 385 HP and 310 lb.-ft of torque, the naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six engine sends power to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The car’s engine has been upgraded with an IPD intake plenum and FVD exhaust for increased sound and power. A Bilt Racing electric steering kit is equipped and the suspension is upgraded with RSS control arms and H&R lowering springs. The brakes also feature upgraded GiroDisc slotted two-piece rotors. The car was most recently serviced with an oil and filter change, a coolant system flush, air filter cleaning, and a wheel alignment.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a window sticker, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This 997.2 has lots of performance goodies to enhance the driving experience. Fitted with a proper 6-speed manual gearbox, the car is a blast to drive!”

@Shasan546 I do not have a DME report on this one
@Miles.S Is there a dme report?
Hi All,
Want to reach out for the final hours and see if there are any questions or requests. Please let me know and best of luck! Thanks, Miles
@sbarnumv yes the passenger side light has some cracks around the outside. There is also PPF on the headlights.
Thanks! Miles
Is the passenger side headlight housing cracked? Looks like it has a few “hairline fractures” beneath the glass.
@Mannym5 no Limited Slip on this one unfortunately
Do you know if this car is equipped with an LSD?
@Ironman88 It has not been replaced to my knowledge. I can reach out to Porsche and see if they have any warranty record of it. Thanks! Miles
Has the HP fuel pump ever been replaced in this car? There's no mention of it anywhere in the CarFax service records. It's a component that is a weak point on the .2's and was replaced under a factory service campaign on many cars. Interested to know if this car has had that work done (and if there's documentation on that) as it's an expensive repair.
@Ironman88 I agree, I think it was more of an aesthetics thing. May have had plans to do all three at some point. Thanks! Miles
What is the purpose of having the mesh grille in the center of the front bumper? It does not appear that the car has the optional center radiator. It would make much more sense to have placed these grills in the left and right side intakes where the radiators are located. Interested to understand what may have directed these decisions.

@cdzg2002 Thanks for reaching out!
Unfortunately no records other than what is listed on the CF. I preformed basic maintenance at my in prep for the sale. The electric steering is a common track day upgrade. It is smooth and removes some load on the motor. Can be reversed fairly easily as all of the lines are still there. There is still room for a small travel bag up front. Happy to work with you to help schedule a PPI. Many shops in the area. Please shoot me a message on here and we can arrange that. Can get a DME report then as well. No known paint work, the front has full ppf. Clean title in hand and one key. Thanks Miles
@Autorama Unfortunately I only have the records for the work done at my shop which was just basic servicing. No previous paint paintwork. Has a full paint film protection on the front end. Thanks! Miles
@Jessannjoh Yes, Previous owner used it for track events on occasion. Thanks! Miles
Forgot one more question - does the car has 2 keys available and a clean title on hand?
This is my first time using a bidding process to acquire a vehicle. I live close to your shop in Knoxville, TN. I reached out to you via Facebook as well. I am interested in this vehicle and would like to bid higher, but in order to do that I would like the following information...
1. Need to better understand the electrical steering modification - why would that have done?
2. Need to understand how much maintenance records are available for this car besides the CarFax.
3. Is there enough room in the frunk for storage even with the JL Audio box and the steering components? Can you still open the tools compartment in the frunk with the JL Audio box attached to it?
4. I would like to see a rev / RPM report.
5. How do I schedule a 3rd party PPI for this vehicle prior to purchase?
6. Has the car or any components been re-sprayed or re-painted? If so, which ones and why?
Bid in the amount of $12,000
Looks like you have a great example here. Do you have service records on this beauty?
Also any previous paint work?
Thank you
Has the car ever been tracked?
Bid in the amount of $10,500
Have never heard of this electronic steering kit. Any PCAR folks have experience with this? Whats the advantage of removing the last good hydraulic steering system Porsche produced?
Bid in the amount of $10,250
Hi all, thanks for stopping in to check out this Carrera S. The car is incredibly fun to drive! The 997.2 has a really great feel over the earlier 997s. This car has some tasteful modifications that add to the driving experience. Ill have a video uploaded today.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions or requests. It is located at my shop in Maryville TN and I can assist in shipping if needed. Shoot me a message and I can provide a quote.
