Available for auction is this 2009 Porsche 987.2 Boxster S finished in Black over a black standard leather interior. The second-generation Porsche 987 was revised with updated styling, a redesigned PCM system, and more powerful direct fuel-injected flat-six engines. This 2009 example was ordered with a 6-speed manual transmission, the Bose High-End Sound Package, Dynamic Cornering Bi-Xenon headlights, heated and ventilated seats, and more. It has also been modified with aftermarket 19” wheels, a Kenwood sound system, and muffler delete. Acquired from a dealership in Missouri about three years ago, this Boxster S resides with its current owner in Michigan where it is now being offered for auction with approximately 59k miles showing on the odometer.
This Boxster S comes finished in nonmetallic Black with a matching retractable soft top. Changes for the second-generation 987 include new headlights and taillights, larger front air intakes with integrated daytime running lights, and a revised rear fascia with diffusers on either side of the central exhaust outlet. The seller describes signs of road-going wear on the front bumper as well as a small scratch on the passenger side front fender. The CARFAX report shows minor damage to have occurred to the rear end in 2016, although no further details are provided. Upgraded LED side markers have been installed along with clear lenses. The 19” aftermarket double-spoke wheels are finished in black and come dressed in Toyo Proxes tires dated from 2015. Curb rash is depicted on the right-front rim and the seller reports a slow leak from the front left tire.
Inside, this 987.2 features a black standard leather interior with heated and ventilated seats, the Bose High-End Sound Package, and touchscreen Porsche Communication Management 3.0 (PCM 3.0) with extended navigation. The driver is also supplied with a Bluetooth phone interface, universal audio interface, XM radio receiver, Dynamic Cornering Bi-Xenon headlights, and automatic climate control. An indentation is present on the base of the driver’s seat and the center console shows signs of wear along with the shift knob. The seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be fully functional including the upgraded Kenwood head unit. An occasional bulb-out warning light appears on the dashboard relating to the aftermarket LED side markers.
This second-generation 987 Boxster S is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.4L flat-six engine featuring direct fuel injection and an output of up to 310 HP and 265 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 6-speed manual transmission which allows the Boxster S to accelerate from 0-60 MPH in under 5 seconds and on to a top speed of approximately 170 MPH. This example features a muffler delete for improved exhaust flow and a louder tone. A pre-purchase inspection was carried out upon the current owner’s purchase three years ago and a long history of service is provided on the CARFAX report dating back to 2010. The results from the 2019 inspection are provided in the gallery along with a DME report.
This sale will include the original window sticker, winter car cover, owner's manuals, and a clean title. An excellent value for any enthusiast in search of a 6-speed Boxster, this 987.2 is not to be overlooked.

I’m not a dealer. I own a 2004 Boxster S. Zero issues. Am interested in the ‘09 Boxster S.
Have no idea of bidding. Please keep me posted with a purchase price.
Thanks

@Nitrotodd Sure thing, happy to share what I know. I know that at least 3 of the owners were dealerships for short periods of time. The last owner was the wife of a guy who owned the exotic car dealership in Springfield, MO where I bought it. Maintenance was done at that dealership for a couple years from what I understand. The car has almost always been driven easily based on the results of the rev tests in the PPI.
I’m really interested in your 987.2. I used autovincheck and found this car to have eight previous owners, but doesn’t show much in the way of details. Several quick buys, maybe dealer to dealer? Can you confirm and provide any insight/details? Thanks!
@Patrick3000 the original exhaust is still on the car, but it has the "muffler delete" for the 987s. I don't have the mufflers that were removed from the exhaust, no.
Do you have the original mufflers.

@gf2020 No sorry I never had the original wheels.
Are the original 18" wheels still available?
@jbaumann83 Oh right sorry. No I'm not sure where that came from. I can't remember if I bought it with that crease or not. Likely from sitting on some hard object.
AJ
The 987.2 does not have an IMS bearing.
ok thanks for the explanation on the oil on the joint. What about the crease on the drivers seat, any idea how that happened?
@jbaumann83 Sure thing! The note reads "between trans and engine". There was some oil on a joint in that area. I had several questions about it (including a few about the IMS bearing since this was my fear when buying the car) and the Porsche techs assured me it was nothing, and that every 987 will show oil on the same joint. Then about a year later my local indy Porsche shop confirmed the same. This oil "leak" has never caused any problems, and never actually dropped any oil onto the floor of my garage so its more of oil residue on the joint rather than a leak.

Hello, on the Porsche Multi Point Inspection Report (Pic#107) under Oil and or Fluid Leaks the yellow box is checked however it's hard to read what it says, can you clarify the remark? Also any idea how the crease on the drivers seat got there? Thanks. And go Blue, I also live in MI in the Ann Arbor area.
Hey everyone I'm the seller. Thanks for checking out the auction and please let me know if you have any questions about the car!
