Now up for auction is this beautifully configured 2009 Porsche 987.2 Boxster S finished in Porsche Racing Green Metallic over a Sand Beige interior. Having been kept in the same family from new, this 2009 example is said to be in very good condition and features automatic climate control, heated and ventilated front seats, a 7-speed PDK transmission, and the Bose High-End Sound Package. With a recent service carried out to maintain excellent running order, this 987 is now being listed for auction by its seller out of California with just over 32k miles showing on the odometer.
This 987.2 is finished in the rare shade of Racing Green Metallic, Porsche’s take on classic British Racing Green. The paint is said to be in very good condition except for a few cosmetic imperfections on the front and rear bumpers (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). This 2009 example comes factory equipped with a black power-operated soft top, automatic deploying rear spoiler, and 18” Porsche Boxster S II wheels fitted with Michelin tires in the rear and Goodyear tires in front. The rear tires are noted to be worn and may be in need of replacement.
The exterior finish is complemented by a Sand Beige standard leather interior. The cabin is said to be in great shape aside from some normal signs of wear and a missing cover for the driver's vanity mirror. All gauges and accessories are reported to be working properly including the aftermarket Kenwood radio. Factory features include the Bose High-End Sound Package, heated and ventilated front seats, automatic climate control, a universal audio interface, and a Bluetooth interface for mobile phones. The original Porsche radio is said to be included in the sale.
This second-generation 987 Boxster S is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.4 L flat-six engine that sends as much as 310 HP and 265 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a rapid 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission. With this drivetrain, the 987.2 Boxster S is capable of accelerating from 0-60 MPH in approximately 4.9 seconds while reaching a top speed of 170 MPH. Routine maintenance is said to have been kept up to date throughout the lifetime of the vehicle including a service carried out recently in 2020 which consisted of new brake pads, rotors, and the replacement of the power steering pump.

@cooler2442 Apologies for missing this before listing the vehicle. I used some cleaner on it this morning and took an additional photo and video of the steering wheel. The P Car Market team should be uploading both momentarily.
From photo 64, why is the interior/steering wheel so dirty? Did the car sit outside with the convertible top down for extended periods of time?
@husker_boxster The PDK transmission fluid hasn't been serviced. My understanding is that the Porsche factory recommended service interval for the PDK transmission fluid is every 60,000 miles, but that some owners will do it sooner.
There is only 1 key. The second key was lost.
@pjskeleton Thanks for your interest. The car was the dealer demo at Schneider Nelson Motorcars in Long Branch New Jersey. There were approximately 4,000 miles on the vehicle when it was initially acquired.
I'm certainly amenable to having a pre-purchase inspection. I called a number of Porsche dealers in my immediate area who mentioned that they do not do PPIs. Would you be open to a PPI by a German specialty shop? Happy to continue calling around to find the best place to have one done.
Has the PDK trans fluid been serviced?
Assume since you're only showing 1 key the 2nd key is missing?
Last serviced at PepBoys, and having a 741 option code on the VIN - indicating the car was built specifically to be a press loaner or a demo car - are both concerning.
Seller, when the car was initially acquired from the original dealer, was it purchased used with a few thousand miles on it or “brand new”? Why PepBoys of all places for service? Are you amenable to having a pre-purchase inspection done by a Porsche dealer?
