Now up for auction is this 2009 Porsche 997.2 Carrera 4S Coupe finished in Meteor Grey Metallic over a black interior.  Among the first examples of the 997.2 generation, this 2009 launch model debuted a larger direct-fuel injected flat-six engine along with a new 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission sending power to all four wheels.  At an original sticker price of over $112k, this 997.2 also came optioned with PASM Sports Suspension, the Sport Chrono Package Plus, full leather upholstery, and the BOSE High-End Sound System.  This C4S has also been upgraded with a ducktail rear spoiler, Porsche Sport Exhaust, painted hardback GT3 Sport Seats, a genuine Alcantara SportDesign steering wheel, an integrated K40 radar detector system, and a Kenwood head unit with front and rear parking cameras.  Acquired from a Porsche collection out of Nevada, this 997 has been recently serviced and is now being offered for auction by its seller in Texas with approximately 6k miles showing on the odometer.

This Carrera 4S comes finished in Meteor Grey Metallic and is characterized by its wide fenders and model-specific reflector band spanning between the taillights.  The rear decklid has been replaced with a Getty Designs fiberglass ducktail spoiler and the full exterior has been preserved under a layer of clear paint protection film, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report.  The factory 19” Carrera S II wheels have been fitted with RSS spacers and a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires dated from 2019/2020.  Both the front and rear tires retain approximately 8/32” of tread.

Inside, the cabin is appointed with black full leather upholstery and features a set of upgraded GT3 Sport Seats with painted backrest shells and Alcantara centers.  A genuine Alcantara-wrapped SportDesign steering wheel has also been installed along with an integrated K40 radar detector system and touchscreen Kenwood head unit paired with parking cameras front and rear.  Factory equipment includes the BOSE High-End Sound Package, self-dimming mirrors, and Sport Chrono Package Plus.  The cabin is described to have been very well kept with all gauges and accessories remaining fully functional.

This second-generation 997 Carrera 4S is equipped with a direct fuel-injected 3.8L flat-six engine rated at 385 HP and 310 lb.-ft of torque.  All four wheels are driven via a 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission.  Paired with the optional Sport Chrono Package Plus, this 4S is capable of acceleration from 0-60 MPH in as little as 4.3 seconds.  Optional PASM Sport Suspension was also equipped from the factory while a genuine Porsche Sport Exhaust system was installed under prior ownership.  A consistent history of maintenance is shown on the CARFAX report and the seller notes a 2-year/20k-mile intermediate service has been recently completed in preparation for the next owner.  Service records are said to be available dating back to 2019.

This sale will include a set of two keys, owners manuals, and a clean title. Sparingly driven and loaded with desirable factory options as well as some tasteful upgrades, this Carrera 4S makes an excellent choice for any discerning driver in search of a Porsche 997.

Thanks! I am partial to the 997s, this will be my 3rd. And what a perfect example, with everything done as I would want, and pristine! Won’t be a garage queen tho. Hello sport plus and shark werks exhaust!

  • Frankbaker 2 years, 4 monthsago

@joebatters man you took good care of her, tasteful mods as well! Quick question, where you thinking of upgrading the steering wheel to the 991.2 as well?

  • Frankbaker 2 years, 4 monthsago

@Swgrantmd congrats! Wow you got a sweet deal! I would need to spend around 10k just to match the same mods! Plus the low low mileage. Enjoy her!

  • ruf_tristan (seller) 2 years, 4 monthsago

@joebatters Thank you for your comments and insight - you took exceptional care of the vehicle inside and out, and it certainly shows!! Needless to say, excellent choice on the upgrades and OEM modifications to the vehicle as well!

Interesting note on the Sharkwerks bypass as well - I had not picked up on that fact! I do love how the Sharkwerks bypass still operates full functionality with the Porsche OEM Sport Exhaust mufflers and dual mode exhaust. As you mentioned, sounds awesome and provides a more aggressive note while not being overly loud, and still has the benefit of the quieter exhaust mode through the PSE button!

Thank you again for the insight Joe!

Car has a shark werks sport exhaust on it too ... sounds awesome but not too loud.

I was the second owner of this car and I did upgrades ... not sure why subsequent buyer did not provide the tail and head unit but I wouldn't put them back on anyway.
I had car paint corrected (took them 3 days to do it to my standards). Car was fully wrapped in Sunteck by Brian King, who cuts everything by hand. He is one of the best in Chicagoland.
Car was top notch when I sold it.
Good luck to the new owner!

@PCARMARKET_MODERATOR Thank you for the update!

Video has been added of a true cold start of the car, along with a walkaround of the exterior and interior, including a quick demo of the Kenwood head unit installed with the fully integrated K40 radar/laser system.

I'll be on hand as the auction closes here in the coming hours to answer any questions, so please don't hesitate to ask and happy to help! Good luck to everyone, and I look forward to finding a great new home for this absolutely beautiful 997.2 4S!!

  • ruf_tristan (seller) 2 years, 4 monthsago

@thomasfrederick Thank you for the question and comment - I couldn't agree more, the car is absolutely stunning, and honestly a bit sad to see it go!! As for the phone mount, it is a Kenwood CAX-HL10Qi mount. It is honestly one of the coolest phone mounts I've personally ever seen, and has an automated sensor that detects when a phone is being inserted, automatically grips the phone, and provides wireless charging. Hope that helps, thank you, and happy bidding!

@Frankbaker It is indeed quite the example between the mileage, OEM upgrades, and pristine condition! As for the tires, they were indeed replaced in early 2020 for a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S all around, showing late 2019 and early 2020 date codes. Tires along with every other maintenance item on the vehicle are good to go and ready for the next owner to enjoy!

  • Frankbaker 2 years, 4 monthsago

@ruf_tristan thank you for the response.

Sub 10k mileage, the GT3 bucket seats, full body ppf, Alcantara everything, ducktail spoiler, upgraded headunit with front and rear cameras, Chrono package plus, I would not be surprised if this hits if not surpass 80k! He probably hasn't swapped out the original tires??

  • ruf_tristan (seller) 2 years, 4 monthsago

@Frankbaker Thank you for the questions!

The aftermarket ducktail spoiler is a fixed wing, and does not raise or lower - this feature is 'coded out' on the car with a Porsche computer as it is intended to be a fixed spoiler (same as Porsche produced for 991.1 generation SportDesign ducktails from the factory). The headunit is a Kenwood DMX906S and has BOTH Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality built-in - the controls for the integrated K40 radar are also functioning through this head unit. The front camera is a Kenwood CMOS320, while the rear camera is an Alpine HCEC1100 (both once again functioning through the head unit). With regard to the steering wheel size, to the best of my knowledge, Porsche did not produce a different size (diameter) steering wheel for the 997.2 generation vehicles (GT or otherwise). Undoubtedly this is NOT a steering wheel that would have come out of a GT vehicle though, as those cars were manual only at the time (997.2 generation), and being that this is a PDK vehicle, the wheels would be different in regard to the paddles and associated electronics.

Hope that helps to answer your questions, but please do let me know if I can help clarify anything in any way. Thank you!!

  • ruf_tristan (seller) 2 years, 4 monthsago

@perfect5storm The swapped steering wheel really provides a great improvement on the interior and driving dynamic! The paddles from the SportDesign wheel make for a much more engaging driving experience, so always recommended in my opinion.

What is the model of the headunit? Is it Apple carplay or Android auto? What brand are those front/back up cameras? Is the Alcantara steering wheel standard or GT size?

  • Frankbaker 2 years, 4 monthsago

Does the aftermarket spoiler still raise up or it's permanently set in place?

  • perfect5storm 2 years, 4 monthsago

Oh My. It's my Carrera's twin. I have same build with the Carbon fiber seats. I also swapped out the button steering wheel for the paddles which I don't think were available initially. Be interested to see where this goes although I'm not ready to part with mine. GLWTA.

  • ruf_tristan (seller) 2 years, 4 monthsago

@911symphony We do not have the original carbon bucket seats with the vehicle. However, ironically enough I believe there is a concurrent PCARMARKET auction ongoing at the moment with the same generation carbon bucket seats available for sale!

  • 911symphony (registered bidder) 2 years, 4 monthsago

Do you have the original seats? Ty

Hello all, welcome to this listing of our 2009 Carrera 4S!! I'm excited and pleased to offer this example here, and sincerely welcome any questions, inquiries, or comments.

The vehicle is in absolutely pristine condition throughout, purchased from the prior owner out of their Porsche collection. The vehicle started life as a Launch Edition 4S, which all came equipped from the factory with Carbon Bucket Seats and the base steering wheel (buttons, not paddles). Prior ownership on the vehicle decided to add some desirable OEM Porsche options, replacing the carbon buckets with the more usable sport seats (pulled directly out of a 997.2 GT3 with alcantara inserts), swapped the steering wheel for a SportDesign in Alcantara (paddles), and added OEM Porsche Sport Exhaust as well. In addition, being one of their collectible vehicles, they opted to have the full vehicle covered in paint protection film (clear bra), so every inch of exterior is covered in protection film - even going so far as to paint protect the back of the paint to match sport seats (yes, even the paint on the sport seats has paint protection). The vehicle is fully serviced and ready for a new owner, and I look forward to answering some questions and getting this beautiful C4S to a new home!
