The flagship first-generation Cayenne Turbo S came equipped with a 4.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine paired with a 6-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission and was capable of speeds of over 180 MPH. This 2009 example was originally delivered in Fairfield, Connecticut before being acquired by its second owner in 2019. It was initially purchased by the seller in May 2020 in Anchorage, Alaska, with a Lava Grey Metallic finish over Black and Steel Grey leather upholstery and equipped with Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes (PCCB), Exterior Package in Black, Light Comfort Package, a moonroof, a trailer hitch, and more. It is now being offered at no reserve by its seller out of Arizona while showing just under 113k miles on its odometer.

This Cayenne comes finished in Lava Grey Metallic and features the premium Exterior Package in Black. Features include bi-xenon headlights, fog lights, front and rear parking sensors, a backup camera, a roof spoiler, quad exhaust outlets, and 21” Cayenne Sport alloy wheels. The wheels come dressed in a set of Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 tires from 2021. An additional set of Michelin Lattitude Plus tires is said to be included with the sale. Some stone chips are noted on the front paint protection film and rear quarter panels. The seller notes the driver-side mirror was scratched and the rear driver’s quarter was dented near the fuel filler door. The CARFAX indicates minor cosmetic damage occurred on the right side in 2019. Detailed images can be found in the gallery along with the CARFAX report.

The cabin is trimmed in two-tone Black and Steel Grey leather and features heated power-adjustable front seats. Amenities include a moonroof, quarter window roll-up sunscreens, Porsche Entry and Drive, 4-zone climate control, thermally insulated glass, the Light Comfort Package, XM Sattelite Radio, Universal Audio Interface, and cruise control. The seller confirms that all gauges, lights, and accessories remain fully functional and reports some wear on the driver’s side seat bolster.

Power comes from a robust 4.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, sending up to 550 HP and 553 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels by way of a 6-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and a variable center differential. The CARFAX report shows 38 service history records dating back as far as 2008, with the most recent being in March 2023. Under previous ownership, a comprehensive 42-point inspection was carried out at Kendall Porsche Audi, and subsequent service included a new Cardan shaft and rear lift support. Under the care of the seller, service has included new catalytic converters, repairs to the cooling system, and routine maintenance every three to four thousand miles.

This sale will include the owner’s literature, a window sticker, and a clean title.

@Peteweiss Pete, my typo. It's a 3.8 RS spec engine on my 964

  • GregRuge5255 (seller) 1 yearago

@Peteweiss I have a 964 restomod with 3.4 RS spec engine, reinforced and rebuilt transmission. Fab speed exhaust. Brakes, suspension and a host of other goodies too numerous for this thread. I need to get out of the shop in Anchorage. I very much want to keep the Cayenne because it is a purposeful, long distance traveler. Very comfortable for me and I'm 6,3".

  • GregRuge5255 (seller) 1 yearago

@GregRuge5255 I mean "completed" not "complicated"..

  • GregRuge5255 (seller) 1 yearago

@GregRuge5255 I uploaded page 59 of the manual and got a ✔️ that it was complicated. I don't see it yet. So I will send to auction guys via email as a backup. One way or another, you all will see this page.

  • GregRuge5255 (seller) 1 yearago

@cerb1958 It actually does. It is automatic depending on ambient temperature inside the vehicle. I had this car in Alaska from May '20 to May '21. It works. Once the cabin warms up, it turns itself off. Heated front seat, rear seats and steering wheel are quite uncomfortable when the cabin is nice and toasty. I took a photo of the page that " heated steering wheel" is located in the Cayenne manual. I know we all expect a lot from a vehicle with Porsche emblem on the hood, but this Cayenne has an incredible amount , crazy amount of power. It makes me proud. I have never had a vehicle that smashes you back in your seat that hard. Kind of scary, but exhilarating. 550 horses and twin turbos will do that to you. Onramps are fun...all this and STILL approximately just a little above the speed limit folks...I mean really!!

  • cerb1958 (registered bidder) 1 yearago

I know you wrote in the comments that the steering wheel is heated, but I can't see that on the sheet on photo 67. Kindly provide a photo of a dash light or button or something to show that it does indeed have that. thx!

  • GregRuge5255 (seller) 1 yearago

@mikelaca Yes they do. As long as the fob is in your pocket. Push the button until you hear two beeps, let go and then open the door. Any door.

  • mikelaca (registered bidder) 1 yearago

@GregRuge5255 Thanks Greg, that's good to know the fob is working. However I was checking on the buttons that are actually on the door handle themselves. You should be able to lock and unlock the car form any/all 4 doors by physically pushing the button integrated into the painted door exterior handle. That's what the repair referenced so that's what I wanted to check if you can please.

  • GregRuge5255 (seller) 1 yearago

@mikelaca Yes all 4 doors do unlock. One push on the fob for drivers side and 2 pushes on the fob for all others.

  • mikelaca (registered bidder) 1 yearago

@GregRuge5255 Thanks for clarifying Greg. I see on that same photo #80 it says right rear door handle "without central locking system". I know your car has door handle push button locking/unlocking, can you test and confirm if the right rear door does lock/unlock the car when you press the button. Seems odd they would say "without" but maybe they had a reason, but I wanted to ensure all 4 doors can lock and unlock the car just be pressing the handle mounted button (with the key in your pocket of course).

  • GregRuge5255 (seller) 1 yearago

@mikelaca I see a total of $1,262 for body labor only. That's all he was charged for. No new door panels or anything. Probably was a long scratch along both right side doors. He did say he was damaged at a parking lot. I don't read any new panels or doors. It would be a lot more.

@Jarod964 - thanks for the hands on knowledge. Now I know more than I did. The Porsche community rocks!

  • mikelaca (registered bidder) 1 yearago

@gregruge5255 thanks for posting additional photos. Photo number 80 seems to show the right side impact needing the front door, rear door, and rear door window all getting replaced and repaired. That seems like a full right side damage, any idea on what caused that? 4 days of body work seems like a lot based on the paperwork if I'm reading it correctly but there's a lot of jargon on that report so I'm not sure if I'm reading it correctly. LMK if you know more.

@Jarod964 I can't email files to pcarmarket. It's too big. And I can't send to cloud. Is there a better way. That is why I haven't submit videos.

  • Jarod964 (registered bidder) 1 yearago

@seller - video of engine startup and running, taken from the front of the car with hood open, would be most helpful. thank you

  • GregRuge5255 (seller) 1 yearago

@Jarod964 A video of exhaust pipes? Let me know what would provide the best evidence of a proper engine

  • Jarod964 (registered bidder) 1 yearago

@seller - a video showing engine startup/idle sound, ideally from the front of the car near the engine, would be helpful in taking a listen prior to auction close.

@phil_c - I completely agree, these cars can be incredibly durable and last a very long time without issue. That said, I've owned 14 first-generation Cayennes in the last 10 years, and 4 of them have fallen victim of scored cylinders (06 Turbo S, 09 Turbo S, 10 GTS, 10 Transsyberia), so this is a real problem and due diligence is justified. Any reputable Porsche shop would recommend a borescope as part of a PPI on any 2004-2014 V8-powered Cayenne.

Since I suspect borescope is not possible before auction close, a video would at least provide some insight, and really help in buttering up my trigger finger to keep bidding. Thanks

@Jarod964 No borescope since I never detected an issue. It runs rock solid and very, very fast. Gaudin Porsche mechanics were very impressed with how tight and solid this vehicle is. They can't find exact numbers on the Turbo S models but these are rare.

  • GregRuge5255 (seller) 1 yearago

@Peteweiss Pad mease 7mm all for corners. Rotors look very good. A little over 50% west. It measured 7mm in Sept 2019 also.

  • GregRuge5255 (seller) 1 yearago

@phil_c Listen at tailpipe or inside? I never hear of bore scoring with Porsche V8 engine. Only flat 6

  • Peteweiss (registered bidder) 1 yearago

Did Gaudin do a full PPI type inspection?
Any word on the PCCB discs?

    Thanks!!!

  • phil_c (registered bidder) 1 yearago

@Jarod964 My 2008 Cayenne turbo had 162,000 miles when I sold it to a fellow Porsche friend. Engine was rock solid. Never heard of the bore scoring issues. My friend has been involved with Porsches for 35+ years as an owner, racer, and mechanic. The issue never came up and we’re still good friends..

  • Jarod964 (registered bidder) 1 yearago

@seller - these Cayenne's are historically prone to scored cyliners, which cause a mild engine tick on idle (which accelerates as you rev the engine up). Any chance you've had a borescope done recently on the engine? Or if not, perhaps a cold-start/running video showing the engine sound? Thank you.

  • GregRuge5255 (seller) 1 yearago

@Peteweiss The Cardan shaft bearing support was OEM. Not seen anything on ignition coil replacement. Thermostat has been replaced last week. New Serpentine belt. Axel boots. Replaced both MAF sensor,s 2-21. Nothing regarding vacuum pump. Brake linings at 7mm front and back 9-2019. Recent measurements last week at Gaudin Porsche was still 7mm. I did not realize this when I asked my tire guy to check lining dims this morning. So just under 50% wear. Will be testing rotors tomorrow but no issue was mentioned last week when Gaudin safety inspected brakes.

  • Peteweiss (registered bidder) 1 yearago

Thanks for the info so far.
Was the Cardan shaft/bearing replacement OEM or aftermarket?
    Any replacement of ignition coils?
    Thermostat?
    Vacuum Pump?

  • GregRuge5255 (seller) 1 yearago

@Peteweiss As long as the title is from a private seller, my understanding is no sales tax

  • Peteweiss (registered bidder) 1 yearago

I am in AZ. Does an auction sale here allow for the purchase with no sales tax like an in-state person to person sale?

  • GregRuge5255 (seller) 1 yearago

@mikelaca I remember previous buyer told me he got scratched on the right side I think at a shopping center. My side mirror issue occured May 2020.

  • mikelaca (registered bidder) 1 yearago

@GregRuge5255 Carfax shows right side damage in 2019. I'm guessing that's before you owned it but do you have any insight into what that was?

  • GregRuge5255 (seller) 1 yearago

@mikelaca Yes they are. But not much use in AZ.

  • mikelaca (registered bidder) 1 yearago

@GregRuge5255 Thanks Greg. Are the rear seats heated?

  • GregRuge5255 (seller) 1 yearago

@mikelaca Photo uploading issued not withstanding, I do have a USB port, an aux port and an I pod port in the center arm rest lower compartment. Also a 12v port to charge a phone front and back. Also a SIM port by the radio.

  • GregRuge5255 (seller) 1 yearago

@mikelaca Seems it is difficult to upload photos on the add photo app. Maybe it takes a while? Anyway, the line you see was a bug splat on the clear bra paint protection. There are some rock dings on the bra but no paint damage that I can see.

  • mikelaca (registered bidder) 1 yearago

@GregRuge5255 Is there a USB port and/or Aux In port in the arm rest? If so, could you send photo of that connection area? Trying to see what options are available to connect media since Porsche hasn't yet come out with a PCCM upgrade for this year.

  • GregRuge5255 (seller) 1 yearago

@mikelaca Make that "rear camera" in previous reply

  • GregRuge5255 (seller) 1 yearago

@mikelaca You have to apply the parking brake, put in reverse. tilt passenger mirror and set memory. In this case memory #2. I just never did it. The rest camera works fine as well as front and rear obstacle sensors.

  • GregRuge5255 (seller) 1 yearago

@mikelaca I will do that. Thanks

  • mikelaca (registered bidder) 1 yearago

@GregRuge5255 Thanks Greg. I hate to sound OCD, haha, but when you say you haven't activated, I'm assuming you mean you haven't turned the switch on the driver too to enable that feature? Just want to confirm however do all parking sensors work, does the backup camera work, and does the right rear mirror tilt when the switch is in the correct position? Just trying to see if there are any parts of the park system not working 100%.

  • GregRuge5255 (seller) 1 yearago

@mikelaca That is the edge of the clear bra paint protection on the fender. Yes there is steering wheel heating. I have not activated reverse parking aid but it is easy to do with the seat memory for passenger side.

  • mikelaca (registered bidder) 1 yearago

@gregruge5255 Photo 10 shows some kind of 'line' going top to bottom on the wheel arch. Are you able to clarify what that is and/or send a closer photo? Also, does the right side rear mirror dip automatically when the car goes in reverse? And is there steering wheel heating?

  • GregRuge5255 (seller) 1 yearago

@mikelaca That was a mistake. My son's Jetta driver side mirror tagged the Cayenne just behind the gas cap. A dent but paint wasn't broken. Still a repair was required and looks new. Receipt is included in paperwork

  • mikelaca (registered bidder) 1 yearago

@gregruge5255 The listing says "The seller notes the driver-side mirror was scratched and the rear driver’s quarter was dented near the fuel filler door. ". Was that supposed to say passenger quarter since that's the side the fuel filler door is on? If so, can you reference the photo that shows the dent or if not, take a photo showing that dent in a more closer/focused way please? And could you do the same for the rear view mirror scrape as well please?

  • mikelaca (registered bidder) 1 yearago

@GregRuge5255 The bottom right of photo 16 seems to show a medium size scratch in a vertical orientation. Are you able to send a more focused/closer photo of that?

  • mikelaca (registered bidder) 1 yearago

@gregruge5255 If you or Gaudin are able to take photos that would be very helpful. What's important with PCCBs is that there aren't any chips in the edges of the rotor and that the surface of all of them is extremely smooth and shiny without any dark areas where the carbon ceramic is worn or coming apart. If closeup photos are possible would be awesome!

  • mikelaca (registered bidder) 1 yearago

Is there a USB port and/or Aux In port in the arm rest? If so, could you send photo of that connection area? Trying to see what options are available to connect media since Porsche hasn't yet come out with a PCCM upgrade for this year.

  • GregRuge5255 (seller) 1 yearago

@Peteweiss See my previous reply regarding PCCB brakes pad wear. 4mm up front and 3.7mm in back. AC has been gone over and is working well.

  • GregRuge5255 (seller) 1 yearago

@mikelaca The front measured 4mm and the back 3.7 mm. Rotors looked OK but I am having them tested Monday at Gaudin Porsche in Vegas.

  • tcmiami305 1 yearago

Bid in the amount of $3,500

  • Peteweiss (registered bidder) 1 yearago

Looking forward to hear about PCCBs. AC cold?
    Any other suspension issues?

  • GregRuge5255 (seller) 1 yearago

@mikelaca No it is a Stuttgart badge. All Porsche. It will come off without damaging paint.

  • faugrad 1 yearago

Bid in the amount of $2,009

  • mikelaca (registered bidder) 1 yearago

Is that a Ferrari badge on each side? Can it be removed without damaging paint?

  • GregRuge5255 (seller) 1 yearago

@mikelaca This vehicle is equipped with entry and drive but the fob was not with the other keys. I do have a reserve key for the ignite which did not make it into the photos. I will contact the previous owner and see if he had the fob.

  • GregRuge5255 (seller) 1 yearago

@mikelaca I figured this question would be an important one so I had scheduled the car to get on the lift and check exactly that...wear on the weather on the ceramic pads. Tomorrow morning to be exact. I'll let you know...

  • GregRuge5255 (seller) 1 yearago

    Steve 1232
It seems the first Burmeister 3D sound system was offered in a Panamara in 2009. Still trying to find out if that also included a top level Cayenne. Excellent question..

  • GregRuge5255 (seller) 1 yearago

This Cayenne has a Bose sound system.

  • Steve1231 (registered bidder) 1 yearago

Is the vehicle equipped with standard. Bose or Burmester?

  • mikelaca (registered bidder) 1 yearago

This car has the PCCB (Ceramic Brakes). Do you have a recent thickness (wear) measurement from a mechanic as when these things do wear out it's a $10K job to replace.

  • mikelaca (registered bidder) 1 yearago

The car is missing the permanent key that is part of entry and drive. Can you explain where it is and if the keyless start still works without issue?
