Introduced in 2009 as the mid-cycle update, the 987.2 Cayman S featured a more reliable direct fuel-injected engine and a host of cosmetic changes. This 2009 example is finished in Meteor Grey Metallic over a black standard leather interior and came factory optioned with heated and power-operated seats, a Bose Surround Sound System, and a desirable 6-speed manual transmission. It was purchased by its seller as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle from Rusnak Porsche Pasadena in September 2017 and is said to have been meticulously maintained and modified for track days and autocross including Eibach lowering springs, a Numeric short shifter, GT3 brake ducts, a third radiator, and more. Accompanied by extensive maintenance records from the seller’s ownership, an inspection from TRE Motorsports, and an oil analysis report from Speediagnostix, this 987.2 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California showing approximately 90k miles on the odometer.
This 987.2 is finished in Meteor Grey Metallic and features bi-xenon headlights, side air scoops, front intakes with integrated daytime running lights, and twin diffusers that sit on either side of the dual exhaust outlet. It rides on aftermarket 18” matte black OZ Racing Alleggerita HLT wheels dressed in Falken RT 660 tires that were installed within the last 400 miles. Modifications include Zunsport front radiator grilles and rear bumper vents, clear side markers, new front bumper lips, and a Rennline tow hook on the front bumper. The seller notes the left rear quarter panel was refinished after being scraped by another vehicle. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The interior is appointed in black standard leather including heated and power-adjustable seats, a Bose Surround Sound System, Bluetooth Interface for mobile phones, and Porsche Communication Management. Modifications include a new headliner, a Rennline magnetic phone mount, an IXI shift knob, and a GoPro camera mount on the glove box. The original shift knob is included in the sale.
This Cayman S is equipped with a mid-mounted 9A1 direct fuel-injected 3.4-liter flat-six engine that was factory rated at 320 horsepower and 273 lb.-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transaxle. Performance modifications include Eibach lowering spring, a sport alignment to increase negative camber, a Numeric short shifter, Numeric shift cables, an OEM third radiator with new antifreeze, Sebro slotted brake rotors with new Textar brake pads, braided stainless steel brake hoses with new Motul 600 brake fluid, and GT3 brake ducts. An oil, filter, and brake fluid change was recently completed and the seller notes that the inspection from TRE Motorsports reflects some over-revs, but no outstanding maintenance concerns. The Speediagnostix oil analysis is said to reflect that the engine is healthy, with the components' wear grading in the green/normal range. The original springs and shocks are included in the sale.

The seller would like you to know: This car has been totally reliable and a blast to drive. A true driver's car. The mid-engine layout provides balanced and predictable manners in the corners. The six-speed manual coupled with the Numeric Short Shifter is fantastic! Shifts are precise and the action is like a rifle bolt. The Eibach springs lower the car providing excellent cornering characteristics. The car has been meticulously maintained and is in great mechanical condition. All maintenance is up to date and I have all records since I purchased the car. Properly maintained, as this one has been, these cars do not disappoint and provide a lot of bang for the buck. Whoever buys this car will love driving it! The car has new tires, brakes, oil, brake fluid, air and cabin filters, and comes with the original springs. The only reason I am selling is because I bought a 2010 987.2 with the TPC Racing suspension and DSC Controller that I wanted to put on the 2009 and I don't have the room to keep both. @jfamestad The car has never been smoked in since I purchased it in 2017. I cannot vouch for the previous owner but I saw or smelled no evidence of smoking when I purchased the car. RE: the tier 4/5 over revs... another bidder asked the same question. I talked to TRE Motorsports (they did the PPI) and unfortunately they did not include how long ago the revs were or take a photo of the screen when doing the DME. Lesson learned on my part to be sure to request that info in the future.

@Caymanorcarrera Thank you for your comment. Transparency is the only way to go. I have had my fun with the car while maintaining it to high standards and it would please me to see this car go to another HPDE enthusiast who will enjoy it as I have. BTW - I did a 1:27 in this car at SOW.
Looks to me like a really nice dual purpose Croc here…….Seller seems engaged and transparent, car looks really good……..i like the idea of buying from a guy who has simply purchased the same basic car but even more modified……..I’d love to do some laps at Streets of Willow in this one😝

@rjohnstonstl - TRE returned my call and said unfortunately they did not take a picture of the DME reading showing the hours since the range 4 and 5 ignitions. If it is helpful, you can talk to the owner Dave or the manager Jeremy at TRE Motorsports in Van Nuys, CA. I am not permitted to post their tel. here as it violates Pcar policies re: posting contact information. Wish I had known to ask them to take a photo when I ordered the PPI.
