@Dibs03 Thank you kindly! It's been nice to chat with you directly and I'll be sure to take great care of it (I'm a little bit obsessive about that). I also hope I get some decent mileage logged too. I've got to make some room for it, for starters. Have a full garage, and only so much time and attention for each of the fun toys, so some other things will have to move along. I haven't been involved in car clubs for a good decade or so, maybe will join up with the Oregon PCA drives from time to time!

  • JCW_Driver (registered bidder) 2 years, 9 monthsago

@Recruiter_Bruno Thanks! Thrilled to be joining! After waiting many years, always thinking I'd buy a .1 GT3... they shot up beyond my comfort zone. I've looked at just about every 911 under the sun in the last few months, missed out on 2 dealer cars recently, as I was effectively just minutes late on both (An '08 C4S Aero here in Oregon and a '12 C4S Aero in Texas). Also, I frankly never thought I'd buy a Carrera. But the DFI motor and manual in @Dibs03's SY example was too good not to just go for it. A great, pure driving car. The Bid Nerds guys said it best (in a very complimentary way) that this is a poor man's GT3, but easier to live with. Well that suits me perfectly!

  • OG914 2 years, 9 monthsago

@Dibs03 It goes up on their YouTube channel an hour or so after the live broadcast and then they follow up the next day on how it closed. Congratulations on the sale. If it would have been a little closer to me, I would have been bidding and trying to figure out how to tell my wife how I need 6 Porsche's at once lol

  • Dibs03 (seller) 2 years, 9 monthsago

@JCW_Driver I'm excited for you! I hope this car brings you as much joy as it brought me. I only hope you drive it a LOT more than I did!! LOL

Dibs you are good with the DME report. The biggest concern is the over revs. Not when you are accelerating and trying to rev match shift, the concern is down shifts into the wrong gear, remember a lot of people track these cars and some do it every single chance they get, Ryan Friedman sells some of the finnest cars, he is pricey but he is also picky on what he sells. As a matter of fact this makes me even more interested in your car. Yes you are a little to far from a Porsche dealer. Wish you the best in the sale.

@Rennmacher I am not sure where PCar editors came up with a 2020 annual. The car was serviced through the selling dealer before my purchase in January of 2020. That maybe what Pcar was referring to but it did not come from anything I reported. I purchased the car from Ryan Friedman. After putting on some 600 miles since purchasing i took the car to Park Place Porsche in Dallas for annual service. The car was obviously no where close to a service interval by way of miles. When the car got to PPP it had roughly 625 miles on the current service oil filter etc. and 125 of those miles was simply the drive to Park Place from my house. I had PPP do the service the car was do for plus road force balance of all four wheels and a four wheel alignment. That was at 17,6xx miles. I do have the invoice for that transaction and it is also listed on Carfax.

As for the DME, there is no way I would be able to get one by the end of the auction tomorrow. It would require an appointment and a 250+ mile round trip. The car perform flawlessly. I never saw the need personally for documentation to tell me if the car has ever hit the rev limiter. I get that information is important to some. It is simply just not feasible for me to gain that info in such short notice. That said, I did ask Park Place if the tech reported any concerns. All they had for me we’re compliments and stated the car was perfect. Thank you for the inquiry. Hope you find this example worthy of your bidding! Cheers

  • Rennmacher (registered bidder) 2 years, 9 monthsago

@Dibs03 Thank you for the reply.

Are you able to procure a DME read out before the end of the auction?

I noticed that the Ad specifies a recent "full" service occurred in 2021 and an "annual" service occurred in 2020. What did these comprise of? Can you provide the invoices for the auction?

My comment on the rear arch was related to this in the second paragraph "Some minor touched-up imperfections are noted on the lower front splitter and left rear quarter panel". Do you have any more color on this?

I am not trying to blow smoke in your auction but qualify the car as I set a price target. I have this car's cousin (SY / 6MT / Yellow Gauges) and am looking to add this as a nice compliment.

  • Dibs03 (seller) 2 years, 9 monthsago

@Rennmacher There is not any touch up or paint work on the rear arch

  • Dibs03 (seller) 2 years, 9 monthsago

@Rennmacher I never had a DME/Overrev report. There was not one provided when I purchased the car and being that I made the purchase it seamed irrelevant for obtaining it after the fact. As for my ownership, I’ve placed less than 1,000 miles in a year in a half. All of my driving has consisted of Sunday morning driving around town or some of the few twisty roads we have around here. Very moderate driving. In fact the only time in my ownership that this car has ever been in traffic was to take it to Dallas early this year for service.

As to the second part of your question, I’m not sure I completely understand what your asking. If your asking if there are any other touch up other than what was mentioned in the listing the answer is no.

  • Rennmacher (registered bidder) 2 years, 9 monthsago

Do you have a recent copy of the DME/Overrev report? I don't think I saw one listed in the gallery.

Also do you have more color on the touchup to the rear arch?

  • Dibs03 (seller) 2 years, 9 monthsago

@luis.seneriz Thank you! Whom ever ends up with it will not be disappointed! It is so much fun to drive! Hope you like attention though..

  • luis.seneriz (registered bidder) 2 years, 9 monthsago

Congratulations Dibs apparently you have at least three of us that are real serious and interested about your car. I have my number, so I’ll be here till then. GLWTS.

Additionally, the car also comes with a Porsche indoor car cover. I had a photo of it and I will see if I can post here in a bit. But I am sure every one is aware of what the indoor car covers look like. Super soft on the paint side. This car stays covered in my climate assisted garage 24/7/365.

  • Dibs03 (seller) 2 years, 9 monthsago

@luis.seneriz The exhaust and BC Racing adjustable coil over suspension. The suspension I suspect was chosen for Stance adjustment. The car has a very stock feel (not harsh or jolty at all) But the damping can be adjusted though I've never touch it. I am completely happy with how the car rides, drive and most of all Looks!

Dibs does the car has any other mods that you are aware off? I guess we know it has an exhaust.

  • Dibs03 (seller) 2 years, 9 monthsago

@IslaTurbine I honestly do not know. The car is now just as I purchased it a year and half ago. I can tell you that it is a very high quality system that appears to be Titanium.

  • IslaTurbine (registered bidder) 2 years, 9 monthsago

Beautiful car. I’m looking at a Spyder right now but this listing really has my attention.

    @Dibs03
Could you tell me which brand of aftermarket exhaust is on the car?

Dibs I wish I was closer because I would like to see it in person. This one is really a car
That says “I’m here I have arrived”. My wife is going to like the fact that it has cup holders and glove box and all that new stuff. My 3/98 996.1 coupe none of that. Real nimble only about 2825 lbs.

@mbuck951 Correct. It does not have PASM. However, it does ride on BC Racing coil over suspension which is fully tune-able. The car drives and rides excellent in current form.

  • Dibs03 (seller) 2 years, 9 monthsago

@JCW_Driver it is a Carrera. Not an “S”

It was supposed to have been corrected before going live but I believe Pcar has since updated to listing. Thanks.

  • PCARMARKET 2 years, 9 monthsago

@JCW_Driver Yes this is a Carrera, the typo has been addressed.

  • JCW_Driver (registered bidder) 2 years, 9 monthsago

PS: I assume it's a Carrera but it would be good to correct the headline listing as it may be confusing.

  • JCW_Driver (registered bidder) 2 years, 9 monthsago

Seller: Can you clarify whether this is the Carrera or S model? As of 7/06, your Pcarmarket headline shows it as a Carrera S. (Vinanalytics shows it as a Carrera.) Handsome car!

  • Cody_fred (registered bidder) 2 years, 9 monthsago

I believe they have an error on the listing.. it states “This second-generation 997 Carrera features a direct fuel injected 3.6L flat-six engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.” If this is a Carrera S as the listing states it would have a 3.8 liter engine.

  • Dibs03 (seller) 2 years, 9 monthsago

Hello PCarMarket bidders! I am pleased to offer up my Speed Yellow 997.2 Carrera. If you have any questions please post them and I will respond as quickly as I can. This is an Amazing example of a 997.2 sure to please. Thank you for looking!
