The updated Porsche 997.2 model was introduced for the 2009 model year featuring new engines with direct fuel injection and the option of a 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) transmission. This 2010 example is a Carrera Coupe finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a Black interior. At an original sticker price of over $94k, it comes equipped with a 7-speed PDK transmission as well as optional 19” Carrera S II wheels, Sport Chrono Package Plus, BOSE High-End Sound Package, heated seats and steering wheel, Power Comfort Seats, Navigation Module for PCM, a painted rear center console, and more. This 997.2 was purchased by the current owner, a longtime PCA member, in 2015 and has been maintained to a very high standard while always garage-kept. This Carrera Coupe is now being offered for auction out of Massachusetts while showing just over 48k miles on the odometer.

This 2010 example is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic and equipped with optional 19” Carrera S II wheels dressed in Bridgestone Potenza tires. Other features include LED taillights and daytime running lights, a speed-activated rear spoiler, an electric sunroof, colored Porsche crest wheel center caps, and Porsche-branded brake calipers. The seller notes that clear 3M paint protection film is applied to the front bumper and one small scratch is present above the driver’s door handle as well as a small scuff on the rear bumper and some scuff marks on the lower right front fascia. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

Inside, this Carrera features a Black standard leather interior with an Alcantara headliner, an optional painted rear center console, a heated steering wheel, and heated Power Comfort Seats with Driver Memory. Other accessories include self-dimming mirrors, the BOSE High-End Sound Package, a Bluetooth interface for mobile phones, an XM Radio receiver, Navigation Module for PCM, Universal Audio Interface, automatic climate control, and a Sport Chrono stopwatch mounted on the center dashboard.

A naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 345 HP and 287 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels by way of a 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission. Equipped with the optional Sport Chrono Package Plus, this Carrera accelerates from 0-60 MPH in as little as 4.5 seconds. The seller indicates that routine annual oil changes have been kept up to date, a brake fluid flush was performed recently, and the car is soon due for a PDK transmission fluid service according to Porsche’s recommended maintenance intervals. The seller adds that the original spark plugs are in use, although they appear to remain in good condition per a visual inspection.

This sale will include service records and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “I am representing the owner in selling this car. She is a friend, and the car is in absolutely outstanding condition overall. Adult owned and babied. Never has it seen a snowflake or an ounce of road salt. The owner is heavily involved with the Porsche club and is a past regional officer. A true Porsche collector and fan.”

As we enter the final hours of the auction, I'd like to thank everyone for their involvement, comments and bids. Admittedly, I'm not expert on these cars as I am assisting a friend with the sale but what I am is a 'car guy' and I know a well cared for car when I see it. You can always tell a car has been driven hard from 20 feet away. Paint chips, uneven paint work, alloy rims covered in road rash and embedded, pitted brake dust, ect.... When I first saw this car I literally thought it was brand new or close to it. Very little in the way of cosmetic flaws to even mention. Can be unheard of for any 13 years old car. Not to mention a car built for 'spirited driving'. It's current owner was fastidious about when to drive it, never having exposing it to harsh weather conditions. When spring came each year, the car was never taken out of the garage until at least a few rainstorms to do sure the winters road salt was history. Was not her primary vehicle, using it only for pleasure, Porsche Club events and such. Yes, there are a couple of factory suggested maintenance items that are due to be completed but for me, I'd much rather that than to be attending to wheel restoration, paint work or leather repair. Please keep this all in mind as you consider your bids. I truly believe you'll be hard pressed to find a better example and am extremely confident the cars next caretaker will be very pleased with his or her purchase. Feel free to reach out with any final hour questions. I'll do my best to answer swiftly. Thank you!

@Wosnoopy , You are correct! I just checked with the owner and that is a K40 radar detector installed by the previous owner. She, the current owner has never used it so its working accuracy cannot be verified. A small, keychain size remote did come with the car which we assume is the detector control.

Don’t hesitate to ask any questions. We want all possible bidders to be happy with their purchase.

  • Wosnoopy (registered bidder) 4 months, 3 weeksago

Ok, hopefully my last question. Is that a radar detector in the black center opening of the front bumper (picture #1)? Please tell me more about what it is and its condition. Thank you.

  • TSB1970 (seller) 4 months, 3 weeksago

@Wosnoopy , Sorry for not responding to one of your comments as I must have missed it. Two tires are from 2019. The other two are from 2015 with plenty of tread and no dry rot. I wouldn't be in a hurry to update them. ZERO paint work, ever. ZERO accidents. ZERO odors. I'd compare this car to a 1-2 year old one on the CPO lot of a dealership. It's THAT clean and nice.

  • TSB1970 (seller) 4 months, 3 weeksago

@Wosnoopy , The windshield. There were some small pits in it that were visible in direct sunlight while driving. The owner thought it would be a good idea to change it. I agreed and suggested she make sure it’s an OE Porsche windshield which she did.

  • Wosnoopy (registered bidder) 4 months, 3 weeksago

Also, could you please tell me what glass was replaced last month (on the Carfax)? Thanks.

  • Wosnoopy (registered bidder) 4 months, 3 weeksago

@TSB1970, thanks for the reply. I just wanted to confirm, since I can only see one of the date codes on the tires that they all are from 2015? None newer? Also, has the car been repainted anywhere? Ever in an accident? Also, is there any smells or odors in the car? Thanks.

  • TSB1970 (seller) 4 months, 3 weeksago

@Wosnoopy , Thanks for the information. There seems to be a lot of conflicting information based on some of those services but I don't disagree with you. Unfortunately we do not have any photo proof of spark plug inspection. Assume they are due for replacement.

  • Wosnoopy (registered bidder) 4 months, 3 weeksago

@TSB1970, great looking car. I believe the PDK service is supposed to be done at 12 years, so I believe that service is actually past due (over a year or more) not coming due. I also believe the spark plugs are supposed to be done every 4 years. In your comments you mentioned that they are original, so they are over 13 years old. The time requirement vs the mileage requirement to replace I believe comes from possible corrosion and the spark plugs possibly being stuck. Concerned on the spark plugs (especially a northeast/MA car since 2015), do you have any pictures from the visual inspection that was done?

  • TSB1970 (seller) 4 months, 3 weeksago

Thank you for the interaction and comments. We’ve taken additional underbody photos
, profiling items of suspension, brakes and exhaust. As well as some underbody sheet metal. We think this should confirm the cars history of not being exposed to harsh treatment or weather of any kind.

    Good luck. Thanks again!

Nice car. Very well cared for since 2015. Don't have to put it on a lift - but a few shots of the exhaust and lower suspension points & brakes might give us a clue as to the first 5 years of ownership. Fellow PCA member since 1980.

@pf2d , Thanks for the inquiry. The file is quite extensive. Going back to the CPO inspection at Hendrick Motors in Charlotte NC. Too many pages to post and most are regular inspections and oil changes. but I can identify some of the more recent work performed other than the yearly oil changes and inspections. 2018 - Brake fluid flush and tire balance. 2019 - Two new tires. 2023 - New drive belt and tensioner.

At this point I won't be able to have the car lifted for pics. I can tell you that this car spent it's first five years in SC and not brought to NE until 2015 by it's current owner. Since, it's only been used as a hobby car. Porsche meets, shows, ect. An occasional joy ride. NEVER had this car seen one flake of snow or one once of road salt. The undercarriage is immaculate. No worries there.

PDK performs flawlessly. I only mention the flush because it's due simply by the recommended Porsche maintenance schedule. No previous service as it was not needed or required.

  • pf2d (registered bidder) 4 months, 4 weeksago

Can you post the service records for the car?

Can you post underbody pics from a lift or jackstsnds given car’s life in the northeast?

How does the pdk shift? Says its due for a flush. Has it had any previous service? Thanks!
