We are pleased to present this 2010 Porsche 997.2 Carrera S Coupe finished in Black over a black standard leather interior. This second-generation 997 Carrera S features a direct fuel-injected 3.8L flat-six engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and came optioned with heated and ventilated Power Comfort Seats, a rear window wiper, the Bose High-End Sound Package, and PCM with navigation.  It has also been upgraded with a Fabspeed muffler bypass, Rennline engine mounts, and Sprint Booster throttle response module.  Recently serviced by an authorized Porsche dealer and with just under 46k miles showing on the odometer, this Carrera S is now being offered for auction by its owner out of New York.

This Carrera S comes finished in nonmetallic Black and features aftermarket Soul Performance exhaust tips.  Visual updates for the second-generation 997 include larger side-view mirrors, new LED taillights, and a revised front fascia with larger air inlets and LED daytime running lights.  Protective mesh screens have been added behind the lower front intake grilles and the seller reports some minor chips on the hood as well as a scratch on the passenger rear quarter panel which has been touched up and polished.  Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a paint depth readout, and the CARFAX report shows rear-end damage to have occurred under prior ownership in 2013.  The factory 19” Carrera S II wheels come dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport tires showing date codes from 2017 and 2018.

The black standard leather interior features heated and ventilated Power Comfort Seats with driver memory as well as automatic climate control, the Bose High-End Sound Package, self-dimming mirrors, a heated steering wheel, and Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with navigation, Bluetooth, and an XM satellite radio receiver. Upgrades include a Sprint Booster throttle controller concealed within the driver-side inner portion of the center console, a hidden Valentine 1 radar detector, genuine Porsche all-season mats, and a 9XX Research system which integrates a backup camera as well as wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay to the factory PCM.

This second-generation 997 is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.8L flat-six engine with direct fuel injection. A 6-speed manual transmission distributes up to 385 HP and 310 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels allowing for a 0-60 time of approximately 4.5 seconds and a top speed of nearly 190 MPH. A Fabspeed rear muffler bypass has been installed along with Rennline Street semi-solid engine mounts.  CARFAX shows a long history of maintenance carried out by authorized Porsche dealers and the seller reports the clutch components and radiator cooling fan to have been replaced in September of 2018.  An oil change, maintenance inspection, and recommended service were also completed by Manhattan Motor Cars in September of 2021 at 44,420 miles.

Accompanied by a clean title, this 997.2 Carrera S is just waiting for its next owner to get behind the wheel and enjoy.

Ripping gears from Texarkana going down 59 to Houston at 3am in the morning. The 996 drag coefficient is only .30 better than a 991.

@luis.seneriz I love the look of the 996 too, I think you meant to reply to the other guy! 160 sounds wild, I've never been up that high. Maybe one day if I can get onto a nice track!

You have to drive the car to see what it is. When I first drove it for time
1300 miles from Wisconsin to Texas I got a great appreciation for what the car is. 3 am I’m the morning with truckers doing 80-90 i got it as high as
160, real unique experience. Let’s see if I can get your to also come home with me.

@luis.seneriz I think the 996 is an underrated car and terrific value.... however, many - like me, can't get past the aesthetics and I think it holds the cars back in relationship to value. My .02 cents

@porscheklaus . You should be a Porsche encyclopedia. Mr Jake rabi at flat six innovations who started building air cool engines since he was a kid says that the early 996 ambers that where built in the same assembly line with the last 993 are the best. I own a 3/98 6 spd 996 coupe. My car has factory 408s which are the lightest 18 wheels Porsche ever had. They have 993 part numbers. Anyway this car is super analog, cable throttle smaller engine that delivers linear power. No glove box, no cup holders less than 2900 lbs. With fab speed headers exhaust and a tune who I don’t know which one is it it’s almost like driving an air cool car. My seats are Connolly leather, etc. I am fixing to put a 3.8 air box on it. Anyway I want an s because I want more power. There was a blue 2009 for sale in Houston that was on auction. I drove both cars back to back because I met the seller on my way to porsches cars and coffee. These two are real different cars. I bought my car in January and I’m getting close to 7,000 miles driven since. If I was to get this one which I like, I would drive the 996 when I’m by myself, and this one with my wife because she likes more comfort.

@porscheklaus thanks! The 997.2 is like a thoroughly modern car (especially with the Carplay and Android Auto added) but with enough analogue to still feel visceral. I've owned and loved some air cooled too! I recently drove a 996 and what I've learned is that they're all great.

@cladd2000 The cars have also escalated in value quite nicely in the last few months :) Good on you! I started working for Porsche in 1978, yes that dates me... I am an air-cooled guy all the way ........but....... I am of the very strong opinion this is the single best 911 ever produced. The 997 is a GREAT car..... and this looks to be a very nice example... best of luck

  • theralphiej (seller) 2 years, 5 monthsago

@cladd2000 good question, you are correct. I've had the car for only 5 months. I love cars and I'm constantly changing. Next up is a 2022 Golf R if it ever gets here!

  • cladd2000 2 years, 5 monthsago

@theralphiej looks like you have owned the car for a few months. Why selling do soon?
