Introduced in 2009, the second-generation 997 GT3 features a larger 3.8-liter Mezger engine and refined aerodynamic bodywork. With just 654 examples sold in the United States, it remains one of the most coveted modern Porsches. This 2010 example comes finished in Black over matching full leather upholstery and features optional heated Adaptive Sport Seats, Dynamic Cornering Lights, Sport Chrono Package Plus, and Sound Package Plus. Modified with a SharkWerks muffler bypass and a GMG Racing RSR roll cage, this GT3 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Arizona with approximately 27k miles showing on the odometer.

Compared to the original 997 GT3, the 997.2 version offers significantly increased downforce with revised front and rear spoilers. This example is finished in Black with optional Dynamic Cornering Lights and standard 19” GT3 center-lock wheels in silver. It rides on Toyo Proxes R888R tires reportedly fitted in 2022, and the brake calipers are said to have been finished in yellow under prior ownership. The CARFAX report notes an accident in April 2022, said to have resulted in a side airbag deployment. Repairs reportedly included replacing and refinishing the front bumper cover, which, along with the hood, has been treated with paint protection film. Detailed images and invoices are provided in the gallery.

The cabin is outfitted with Black full leather upholstery and features heated Adaptive Sports Seats with Driver Memory, Porsche-crested headrests, a fire extinguisher, and interior-colored floor mats. A yellow-finished GMG Racing RSR roll cage and aftermarket pedals have also been installed. Additional options include the Sound Package Plus, a universal audio interface, hands-free Bluetooth connectivity, PCM 3.0 with Extended Navigation, and the Sport Chrono Package Plus which adds a lap timer to the center dashboard.

Rated at 435 HP and 317 lb.-ft of torque, the naturally aspirated 3.8-liter Mezger flat-six engine drives the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH can be achieved in approximately 4 seconds with a top speed of over 190 MPH. Standard equipment includes Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), and an aftermarket Sharkwerks muffler bypass has been installed. The seller reports a brake pad sensor replacement in August 2021 and a brake fluid flush within the last year. Repairs in 2022 included replacing the steering gear assembly and two wheels. Additionally, the spark plugs, drive belt, transmission fluid, and engine oil were reportedly replaced within the last year.

This sale will include a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: "All the repairs have been done by a Porsche-certified body shop and dealer with NEW OEM parts. No frame damage."

I dont think you can even get a 997.2 GTS manual at this price, let alone GT3 Mezger

  • V12HexaTurbo (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

@jaynar not a big deal, please enjoy the auction

@TreeGT3 I didn’t submitted the pictures as all the post handled by PCAR, they pull the pictures from the BAT as I submitted the car about months ago. I already have all the pictures submitted there, so I’m expecting hiding anythings. As I described the airbag did deployed per side impact. I have all the doc supporting the repair and you can even call the shop who performed the repairs. I don’t know why you are upset on this as I already disclosed all the info. If you are a true bidder go place a bid, I can video call and show the car. Last but not least, as I discussed in the comments, the car will totaled by the law if there is a frame damage. Please do your research before making conclusions. Thanks for involve.

I find it interesting after diving into the VIN search results that I found more pictures of the left side damage and airbag deployment that wasn't shared here (including a shattered rim). Why are those pictures being omitted here when seller has all those pictures? Also, the repair documents shared are just an estimate, not actual receipts for the repairs made. There's really no evidence that shows the frame isn't still twisted, bent, or damaged. The evidence so far shows questionable repair work like having the wrong lower control arm installed. After an impact like this it's hard to imagine the frame remaining in it's original form and as potential buyers we can't just take your word that's it's repaired to factory spec- we need to see the supporting documents. It really just seems like the seller is selectively sharing information.

@V12HexaTurbo Oops sorry I missed that thank you!

  • V12HexaTurbo (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

@Chi_PT Thanks for the advice. First, if the car have any frame damage if will be automatically totaled by law. As the damage see in the picture, the damage was not horrible, specially where the airbag deployed side has no damage besides the wheels. Alignment sheet was attached also can prove the car was in spec.

The seller has fully disclosed everything necessary in my opinion regarding the accident history. An updated DME would be nice and doesn’t take long. GLWS!

@v12hexaturbo - I just wanted to pass this along as someone who has now sold multiple cars on auction sites (all on BaT under my buddy and seller Vance911).

This car may be true and honest post accident, however between the previous auction and the multiple threads on Rennlist, this car now has a “bad VIN”.

What would be helpful is if you took this car to a certified Porsche collision center and had them complete a full frame inspection and body inspection with paint meter readings. It would be worthwhile to get a full mechanical ppi and updated DME with a current date as I’ve seen a number of comments about that. With these two documents, you will be able to put everything to rest and provide complete transparency.

I owned a 2010 GT3 as well and these cars are absolute beasts and a great value vs its RS counterparts. I hope the auction ends well for you, but in the event it doesn’t, it would be worthwhile to do what I mentioned.

I had a 1997 Supra 6 speed that was in an accident 2 owners prior to me so I had no data on it besides carfax. I had a few individuals come in and falsely disparage my car for their own self interest. After a RNM, I was able to take the advice of individuals who wanted the car post auction and got it inspected at a certified Toyota collision center by a master tech and it passed with a clean bill of health and matched the carfax. I was able to sell successfully after the auction.

  • V12HexaTurbo (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

@Bigbar365 Thank for the comment, I really appreciate the understanding.

  • Bigbar365 (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

Same comments on BAT about the driving. The seller /driver looks like he knows how to handle a manual, heel/toe etc. Most people are just used to seeing these things babied between the garage and cars & coffee. He didn’t come anywhere close to an over rev, he gave the car plenty of throttle in 2nd/3rd/4th giving us a sample of that glorious sound.

Either quiet down in the peanut gallery or pony up the cash and bid.

This car has been analysed to death on two auction platforms now and it looks to me like it might be a cheap entry to one of the great drivers cars for someone willing to get off the fence

  • V12HexaTurbo (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

@lamacan I’m so surprised that so many people drive the car by mouth. LMAO

  • 6thinline9 (registered bidder) 1 month, 2 weeksago

I wouldn’t assume I’m an inexperienced driver—the exact opposite might be true :)

With this in mind, the drive video reveals some curious driving decisions that IMHO speaks about overall ownership.

  • lamacan (registered bidder) 1 month, 2 weeksago

@6thinline9 silly comment. having owned a 997.2 GT3, these cars are extremely hearty. nothing the driver is doing is putting the car through anything it wasn't designed to do. if anything it shows the car is healthy under load conditions.

  • V12HexaTurbo (seller) 1 month, 2 weeksago

@Bruno911 All the repair done by Certified Porsche body shop and dealer with NEW OEM parts.

  • V12HexaTurbo (seller) 1 month, 2 weeksago

@6thinline9 I have answered all the questions, the car was on BAT few months ago, if you have any questions please let me know. Drive video only for the people know how to drive this kinda car. People who only video the car on idle or cruise don’t show the mechanic problem of the vehicle. A lot problem shows when the vehicle on the load.

  • 6thinline9 (registered bidder) 1 month, 2 weeksago

The spastic drive video, combined with the way the seller is (unable) to answer questions clearly … doesn’t inspire confidence.

  • Bruno911 1 month, 2 weeksago

@V12HexaTurbo ok thank you. Is anything else in the listing description fabricated?

  • V12HexaTurbo (seller) 1 month, 2 weeksago

@Bruno911 Yeah, the list from my confirmation to live only took one day. I think there are some details in this list is not perfect. However, the site manager have all the important info he need for the post. Please do ignore that quotation since is not from me. Thanks

  • Bruno911 1 month, 2 weeksago

@V12HexaTurbo You are the seller, right? And the listing is literally quoting a statement from the seller. So who’s statement is this and why is it in quotes if it’s not yours? It says “I bought this” Pcar market didn’t but this car so that only leaves you. Unless you’re saying PCAR market is making up statements and attributing them to you.

“This car is a BEAST. I couldn't get an allocation from Porsche, so I bought this one from a dealer/broker as the second owner.”

  • V12HexaTurbo (seller) 1 month, 2 weeksago

    @Bruno911 Sorry, that’s not me.

  • Bruno911 1 month, 2 weeksago

@V12HexaTurbo you wrote it right here.
The seller would like you to know: "This car is a BEAST. I couldn't get an allocation from Porsche, so I bought this one from a dealer/broker as the second owner.

  • V12HexaTurbo (seller) 1 month, 2 weeksago

@bphillyer @bphillyer, I'm sorry, but here are some clear misunderstandings. Please point out from all of my common, where I said I was the second owner. I didn't write the post.

  • bphillyer (registered bidder) 1 month, 2 weeksago

    @V12HexaTurbo

You write: "I bought this one from a dealer/broker as the second owner,”
while CarFax states that you are the sixth owner.

Would you please help me understand the car’s ownership history?

Also, an official Porsche pre-purchase inspection might help here, and be to your advantage. If I missed anything, I apologize.

    GLWA!

  • V12HexaTurbo (seller) 1 month, 2 weeksago

@bphillyer @bphillyer, the car spun out on the public road and hit the curb. There was no frame damage, and the side airbag was deployed. It was just the bad luck of the wheels contacting the sidewalk curb, which is what all modern cars will do. I know nothing besides my ownership of the vehicle.

  • V12HexaTurbo (seller) 1 month, 2 weeksago

@davisjrjr yes sir, steel brakes. Painted caliper to match the roll cage

  • bphillyer (registered bidder) 1 month, 2 weeksago

This is a wonderful, fast, analog feeling car. They just feel good. A true joy.
Mine is almost an exact match to this, but has PCCBs, no full leather.

I am interested in hearing more, especially about:
-replacement of glass in Feb 2013: both the windshield and left quarter window
-the accident in April 2022; airbag deployment. Why does Carfax fail to provide more detail on the extent of damage to car -- Light? Moderate? Severe?
-replacing the steering gear assembly and two wheels under the last owner.

Has the car hit any curbs?

  • davisjrjr (registered bidder) 1 month, 2 weeksago

so this car was RNM a short time ago - correct?
And to confirm this car has the standard steel brakes with yellow painted calipers?
