Featuring an enlarged 3.8-liter Mezger engine and improved aerodynamic bodywork, the second-generation 997 GT3 was launched in 2009 with a total of 654 examples sold in the United States, making for one of the most desirable modern Porsches of all. This 2010 example comes finished in Black and showcases an impressive list of options including ceramic composite brakes (PCCB), Lightweight Headlights, Sport Chrono Package Plus, Black-painted interior trim, illuminated carbon fiber door sills, and Adaptive Sport Seats with crested headrests. It has been under the care of the same owner since 2010 and is now being offered for auction out of California showing approximately 59k miles on the odometer.

This GT3 is finished in Black with optional painted mirror bases and rear model lettering along with yellow ceramic brake calipers. The car was also ordered with optional Lightweight Headlights, eliminating the headlamp cleaning system and xenon bulbs for weight reduction. It rides on factory 19” GT3 center-lock wheels dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport tires. The seller notes the full exterior is preserved under clear paint protection film and some minor imperfections are present on the surface, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin is trimmed in Black leather and Alcantara including an optional rear center console in leather and Adaptive Sport Seats with Porsche-crested headrests. Other optional details include an aluminum footrest, illuminated door sill guards in carbon fiber, and Black-painted trim pieces throughout. The car was also ordered with Sound Package Plus, Bluetooth Phone Interface, Universal Audio Interface, Porsche Communication Management (PCM 3.0) with extended navigation, and Sport Chrono Package Plus which adds a lap timer to the center dashboard.

Rated at 435 HP and 317 lb.-ft of torque, the naturally aspirated 3.8-liter Mezger flat-six engine drives the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. The GT3 reaches 60 MPH from a standstill in approximately 4 seconds with a top speed of over 190 MPH. The CARFAX report shows a history of recommended maintenance performed at Porsche Walnut Creek including the camshaft seal(s) replaced in 2013, a catalytic converter replaced in 2015, and a passed emissions inspection in August 2022.

This sale will include a clean title and the original owner’s manuals.

@EC808 I've just double confirmed with the family that the process is done. So its in the family member name who will be signing it over. So no need to worry about the title. Hope that helps bidding with more confidence. Thanks

  • EC808 (seller) 1 year, 1 monthago

@Mike_GT3RS when the buyer receives the title it will be NOT be under the deceased name. It will be free and clear and under the name of the person signing it over

  • Mike_GT3RS (registered bidder) 1 year, 1 monthago

@EC808 was the title transferred, or is it still under the original owner's name?

  • EC808 (seller) 1 year, 1 monthago

@Mike_GT3RS Unsure why you would need a death certificate. The title will be free and clear.

The rules per California is that one must wait 40 days to transfer the title. We are passed the 40 days. The family initiated the process at day 40. There will be no issues with title.

  • Mike_GT3RS (registered bidder) 1 year, 1 monthago

Will the title come with death certificate and affidavit necessary to transfer the title?

  • EC808 (seller) 1 year, 1 monthago

    @Sonnypatel yeah we'll see

  • EC808 (seller) 1 year, 1 monthago

@dkexige I am away from state where the car is so I would be unable to have this performed by the end of the auction

  • SpartyRob84 (registered bidder) 1 year, 1 monthago

This looks like a pretty darn good GT3 given the mileage and age. Could end up being a great buy based on where the bid price is right now. Excited to see where this one ends!

  • Sonnypatel (registered bidder) 1 year, 1 monthago

This is gonna be good. The result will dictate if the seller made the right choice selling on here over his previous listing. Sorry for your loss. Anyways best of luck.

  • dkexige (registered bidder) 1 year, 1 monthago

Can the PCCB rotors be measured for thickness? Have they been replaced in the lifetime of the car already?

  • Dangler 1 year, 1 monthago

Pic 39 - the tire seems melted, as if it was too close to something hot?

  • EC808 (seller) 1 year, 1 monthago

    @PAEuros Great questions answers below
    Couple of questions:

Does the car only come with one key?
    A. 2 keys

Is the title in hand or is their a lien?
    A. No lien.

The large mark on the front bumper, is that only in the PPF or is it through and into the paint?
    A. If by PPF you mean the clear bra protective film then yes that is just an imperfection in the protective film which by the way was done for the entire car. Per the guys who did the inspection is was rare the do that for the whole car.. So any scratches you see on the car are on the protective film and not the paint.

What is going on with the tires?
    A. Front tires need to be changed for sure. Rear ones getting worn but apparently not bad. I will have the p market guys upload the PPI. So you can see that. The guys at the shop said " show me a car like this that doesn't need tires" I've heard the same thing from a few guys that these cars need tires frequently. Anyway please look back in a bit and I'll have the PPI uploaded.

    Why do they look melted?
A: Unsure what you mean by that.

I realize this is car of interest and there are aspects to this type of car that are unique, but the guy at the shop said he'd "never seen a car like this before. Its got miles but taken care of and obviously loved"

If you're looking for some disaster its not there on this car. Has the car been driven ? Yup, but not trashed. Flying colors on DME and aside from tires and a couple of scratches on the protective film apparently it's a great car. Hope this helps

  • EC808 (seller) 1 year, 1 monthago

@Gamble I've gotten that request it seems twice so far. As I am not in California where the car is. It would be easier to get all interested and currently bidding to see it all at once. It's sitting in a garage and had only moved for DME and PICS. It means having someone meet you to show it and is a bit of an effort so if we do it it would need to be with everyone and of course serious buyers. The PPI is clean, but I certainly understand a purchase like this one may want to see it.

@EC808 Having the full story it all makes much more sense to me now, I appreciate you taking the time to explain the situation. I'm sure its probably not something you wanted to explain but it will only help the final result. I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. I'm sure the car will do well and find a good home on here.

  • Gamble (registered bidder) 1 year, 1 monthago

  • EC808 (seller) 1 year, 1 monthago

@zacrobinson Please read my comment to Patina. And realize this has been a learning process for the family dealing with a loss. This isn't my choice or plan. If that stops you from buying then no problem, but having the right info on the story is important and to share the correct story. What you all experienced was a real time price discovery from an inexperienced selling family. That's it. Anyway thanks for offering the opportunity to clear the air.

  • EC808 (seller) 1 year, 1 monthago

@patina_78 Ok it's best to actually know the entire story which you unfortunately you do not,. So in order to help here it is fellas. This is my brother in laws car. He passed in February. So chill on the assumptions. I am helping the grieving family. Not knowing the car I priced it per KBB which was woefully underpriced as I got blown up by a ton of million dudes.. I obviously repriced as I followed the advise from a group of cool Porsche guys and the shop where I received the DME. It's been a learning process. The problem with your sentiment is that you're assuming I owned the car and knew the market and hence playing games. Not the case. Also I'm just the face of this operation. I take commands from the family. And yes they want to maximize profit for the benefit of a 22 month old son left behind. And show me a sale on here not trying to maximize gains. So its not some dude with a Porsche acting poorly. So what have I done? I've gotten as much info as requested my a multitude of great Porsche guys and gotten the DME everyone wanted. I followed the advise of a really nice guy who came to see the car and put it on here because he said it was the fairest way to get it done. So you wanna buy the seller? Ok it's grieving family. What else can I tell you? Everything about this sale in on the up and up. If you don't like the journey to get here then ok, but let's not make things up. I hope this helps the more reasonable eyes on this forum.

  • 95BlackZ28 (registered bidder) 1 year, 1 monthago

@patina_78 what was the price on FB marketplace?

  • zacrobinson (registered bidder) 1 year, 1 monthago

@patina_78 I conçur completely and can confirm that is 100% accurate, as I had the same experience with whomever is listing it for sale. I'm never one to comment on someones auction typically. I myself along with numerous other interested parties I'm sure had the same situation with trying to buy the car. In my opinion this is a great example of how not to sell a car.

Ultimately, the decision lies with the seller, and while I understand and respect the desire to maximize profits. Once the price increase happened and they still weren't willing to actually sell the car for the new asking price is when I lost interest, and personally found their approach to the sale distasteful. I'll be curious to see how this one ends.

  • Imthedecidah (registered bidder) 1 year, 1 monthago

@patina_78 - Appreciate what you’ve shared. I won’t fact check it, bc I agree with your over all sentiment - that you buy the seller on an established auction site more than the car itself. As for greed… well what can anyone say about prices being paid for the higher end GT Porsches these days other than ‘charge what the market bear’ I wont be participating bc buying a six figure car from an unknown is just something I don’t do - might as well be on EBay - or CL for that matter.

  • turbotax (registered bidder) 1 year, 1 monthago

@patina_78 that is very good to know, thank you for sharing! I agree 100% with buying the seller, vetting the seller is every bit as important as vetting the car.

  • patina_78 (registered bidder) 1 year, 1 monthago

@turbotax they say you should buy the seller, not the car. The person selling this car is not the owner, he is representing the owner. He listed the car for sale several months ago. After receiving several full-ask offers, he decided to up the price by $20k. Even so, he still received several full price offers which he declined out of greed. He then started telling interested parties he was going to hold an in-person auction which he was going to manage. After cutting contact with everyone, the car is now listed here.

Niece car, not a garage queen or collectors. A good friend who has owned 10 Porsches told me this is the one to have and drive. Yes he said on acceleration and straight speeds my modified triple black turbo coupe that I bought here last April is faster than this car, but he said on a track this car will demolish my turbo. I’ll be in it at the right price. GLWTA
