Among the rarest variants of the Porsche 997, the exclusively all-wheel-drive Targa model features a unique sliding glass roof system and an opening rear hatch. This 2010 997.2 Targa 4S comes finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over Black upholstery. It was factory-optioned with a 7-speed PDK transmission, heated & ventilated power Comfort Seats, a Bose High-End Sound Package, dynamic cornering lights, Parking Assist System, clear taillights, and more. Showing less than 27k miles on the odometer, this Targa 4S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of South Carolina.
The Targa sports a large sliding glass roof panel, an opening rear hatch, and unique chrome trim accenting the roofline. As a 4S, it also features the characteristic reflector band spanning between the taillights as well as silver-painted front air intake grilles, red-painted brake calipers, and wider fenders. This example comes finished in Arctic Silver Metallic with optional dynamic cornering headlights and clear taillights. It rides on factory 19” Carrera S II wheels dressed in Pirelli P Zero tires with 7/32 remaining tread reported. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin offers Black standard leather upholstery with optional heated/ventilated 14-way power Comfort Seats and Porsche-crested headrests. Other options include self-dimming mirrors, Bluetooth phone interface, universal audio interface, XM Radio, Bose High-End Sound System, Parking Assist System, and PCM Voice Control & navigation. The seller adds that a remote radar detector has been fitted.
This Targa 4S equips a 3.8-liter flat-six engine generating as much as 385 HP and 310 lb.-ft of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission. Standard performance features include Vario-Cam Plus, Porsche Traction Management (PTM), Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), and a stainless-steel exhaust system. The CARFAX report shows a total of 21 service history entries, and the seller states maintenance is currently up-to-date by a Porsche-authorized dealer.

I started with air-cooled cars, then tried some transaxle models before becoming interested in the 996. I went to California for a course with Tony Callas, and later spent time with Jake Raby at Flat Six Innovation, learning to repair M96 engines. That's where I met Karl Troy. They were working on 996s before it was popular. I've owned several 996s, a 997 Turbo, and a 2013 Carrera S. My wife had a '97 turquoise Boxster as her weekend car. Last year, I wanted to surprise her for her 65th birthday, our 41st anniversary, and her 40 years with Delta Airlines, so I bought her a 2010 Targa 4S. But she secretly wanted a newer Boxster. So now the Targa is in the garage, making room for a 718. I was attracted to the Targa's cleanliness, low miles, and its history report showing service at Porsche of Orlando. It felt like a pedigree car—a southern car with dealership service. That's why I bought it, but Gail's preference for a newer Boxster is why I'm selling it. i didn't feel the need for a ppi as I relied on the strong service history - the low miles - the pristine physical condition. there are many different types of Buyers out there - I rely on my experience and am also always willing to invest in my porsches. There are several blemishes on the car - its 14 yrs old but we didnt alter or repair the car - just new oem tail lights - ceramic paint protection - new rubber floormats. This was a one owner car w 26k miles that didnt spend anytime in a harsh climate that was bought to drive and enjoy.
if i was buying a car with 5 to 7 previous owners and 50,000 miles my approach would be different !

I am not seeing the paint meter photos you said were posted. Will keep looking. Photos #11 thru 13 show dent above license plate. Can you explain? Seems obvious enough to have mentioned. Did you have a PPI before you purchased? Can you post results?

my guess is that what your asking about in 66 and 68 are reflections. take a look at #6 et al - we have not done any paint work/repair nor was i told of any repair work

its a remarkably clean car
the great recession of 2008 cut dealer orders and by 2010 & 2011 the pre recession volume was down 50%. coupled with Targa 4S low build #s and you have a future collectible.
currently there is a 4 yr wait to place a new targa order - and certainly youve seen what a late model brings pre-owned! fyi. thx

Don’t know about the specific services but was impressed how often it was serviced and was about to start using Porsche Greenville. Porsche Greenville offers a pre-imposed purchase inspection for a half a day labor. I have my 1999 996 up there having service work done and a set of fuchs and new sneakers being put on. Steve Saunders is the service manager and his excellent to work with
since we’ve had the car we had paint correction and ceramic coating done by D1 Automotive & Viking marine. and the new set of rear clear tail lights. The driver side had delaminated so we replaced both.

Nice looking vehicle - I've owned a 1981 911 Targa, and a 1996 (993) Targa - the first year of the glass-top-Targa.. and currently looking for a 997.2 or 991.. looking mostly at Coupe but also interested in a Targa..
Quick question - Do you have both sets of keys?
Given the attractiveness of this car I'm surprised that you didn't list it on The Mart in Panorama, I've been checking the website frequently and the action is pretty good there!

@slwags10 Yep... I think I saw 190 somewhere. That is crazy low. I am about 12 mos away from buying another Porsche. If I could get the girls out of college, I could buy a car a year. :) Until next year, just have to drool. This is exactly what I wanted.
@Yamadawg 629 is the worldwide production for the 2010 model year, with estimates that only about one third came to the US (if anyone can confirm US numbers, PLEASE let me know). I absolutely love the 997.2 glass top Targa 4S, and actually prefer the PDK on this particular build. My golf clubs fit nicely in the rear hatch, which guarantees a nice ride home, even after a rough day on the course. Imagine a cool fall day on the twistee mountain roads, looking at the colors through the glass top (heated seats optional). This is a great spec, well-cared for, low mileage beauty! GLWTS
The Targa was super low production in 2010. I think like 600 total Targa 4S' produced. That is a beautiful car.
