Produced exclusively for the 2011 year, the BMW 1 Series M Coupe marked the end of the E87 generation and became a benchmark for modern BMW performance cars. This 1M has been professionally modified under the care of the current owner, a certified Porsche technician, and by Turner Motorsports of Amesbury, Massachusetts. It has been fitted with a BQ tuning custom tune, an AFE twin cone intake system, an AD Engineering 3” charge pipe, an AD Engineering 650 intercooler, Forge diverter valves, VRSF catless downpipes, an Akrapovic axle-back exhaust, a CSF aluminum radiator, a Diffsonline limited-slip differential, an M-Factory dry carbon single-piece driveshaft, Ohlins DFV coilovers, spherical thrust arm bushings, H&R front and rear anti-roll bars, a corner balance and suspension geometry setup by Turner Motorsports, and much more. Showing approximately 51k miles on the odometer, this 1-Series M Coupe is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Massachusetts.
This E82 1M was ordered in Black Sapphire Metallic (475) and equipped with Shadowline exterior trim as well as model-specific bumper covers, side skirts, flared fenders, and mirrors. A BMW M Performance carbon fiber lip spoiler has been installed, in addition to LED halo headlight rings. The front bumper and rocker panels have received the installation of Xpel paint protection film, and the entire body has been coated in Ceramic Pro ceramic coating. The CARFAX report shows damage to the front end that occurred in June of 2017 due to contact with a curb while parking and the front bumper and headlight tabs were professionally repaired and refinished. The seller notes a ding in the roof, a small dent behind the driver’s door on the quarter panel, and some paint chips on the hood, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with the CARFAX report. This 1-Series M Coupe rides on 19” BMW Style 359 wheels, which are mounted with Bridgestone RE-71-R performance tires displaying date codes from 2017.
The cabin is upholstered in black Boston leather with orange contrast stitching, with a matching dashboard and door panels, accented with black Alcantara trim. Interior equipment includes manually-adjustable sport seats, automatic climate control, adaptive xenon headlights, a Harmon Kardon surround sound system, a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, and cruise control. A CAE ultimate shifter, BMW Performance V2 Alcantara steering wheel with an LED tachometer, a UUC clutch pedal, and LED interior lights have been installed. The seller reports some delamination of the rubber trim on the CAE shifter.
The 1-Series M Coupe is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0L N54 inline six-cylinder engine, which has been extensively modified with a BQ Tuning custom tune, an aFe twin-cone intake with scoops, an AD Engineering 3” charge pipe and 650 intercooler, Forge diverter valves, RB silicone turbo inlets, a Cobb Access Port, VRSF catless downpipes, and a MadDad mid-pipe, in addition to a Burger Motorsports oil catch can, a VAC Motorsports oil pan baffle, an Akropovic axle-back valved exhaust system, a Fuel-It Stage 2 low-pressure fuel pump, a CSF aluminum radiator, a Motorsport24 dual oil cooler kit, and an aluminum steering pulley. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission, and a Diffsonline 3 clutch limited-slip differential with 3.45 gearing and 36/60 ramp angle and a ring/pinion and bearing polish. The driveline has also been modified with an M-Factory dry carbon one-piece driveshaft, an F10 550i clutch, UUC solid transmission mounts, Turner Motorsports solid Delrin differential bushings, 034 Motorsports 50 durometer motor mounts, and a clutch delay valve delete. The suspension has been fitted with Ohlins DFV coilovers, Vorshlag camber plates, spherical front thrust arm bushings, Dinan rear adjustable toe tinks with an SPL lockout kit, Turner Motorsport rear strut brace, a Mason Engineering front strut brace, Bimmerworld spherical rear control arm bushings, spherical trailing arm bearings, an H&R 27mm front sway bar and 23mm rear, adjustable HPA front sway bar links and Hotchkiss rears, and Turner Motorsport aluminum subframe bushings. The suspension geometry has been dialed in and corner balanced by Turner Motorsport. The seller has performed most of their own maintenance, but a binder full of receipts will be provided with the sale. Regular fluid changes have been performed with Motul 5W-40 engine oil, Redline differential fluid, Redline DCTF transmission fluid, and new K&N air filters every 3k miles.

@Bm911rs I do have several available, and would do them on occasion just to make sure the engine was healthy. The last one performed was at the 50k mark, and has had another oil change since. Additionally, it has a fresh coolant flush, fresh brake flush, and last oil change was about 250 miles ago. She is ready for her new owner!

@WedgePerformance I saved everything that was taken off the car minus the steering wheel and driveshaft, of which I let a friend with a 135 talk me out of years back. Buyer will have to arrange shipping or transportation of the parts. I will pack what I can cleanly and neatly inside the car if it is being shipped.
@Bm911rs thank you for the kind words! Let's talk about the driveshaft first. It's dry carbon, and 1 piece instead of two. This increases rigidity along with reducing weight 2 fold. Consequently, lowering inertia. This helps you accelerate faster through the entire rev range, while adding a more responsive throttle. A fantastic mod that was worth every penny.
The Diff from Diffsonline is a wonderfully engineered piece. I chose the 3 clutch setup for longevity as more clutches equil more durability. The 35/60 ramp angles were specced after a long conversation about my suspension setup. The bearings were polished for a smoother operation, along with a polish on the pinion and ring gear. The 3.45 gearing was selected for a couple of reasons. One, I didn't want the gearing too short for the street while cruising around. More importantly I wanted some extra acceleration after going full bolt on, but didn't want to go with bigger aftermarket turbos. This was hands down the best single mod done on the car. Acceleration is laugh out loud fun in any gear, even up to 6th. Plus the diff whine is cool too. Also the spacing of the pinion was done with my HP and TQ in mind. A very well thought out piece.
Now the clutch. I had originally installed a clutch master's aluminum single lightweight flywheel, with a stage 3 clutch. This proved to be too harsh and noisy for the street. So I started looking at factory options. The 550i clutch provides more disc surface area, and a higher torque value on the pressure plate. The result is a stock like feel and quiet operation while holding the power and torque. A true win win.... win...lol. I hope this answers everything!

I am very impressed with how well this car has been modified but kept looking as stock as possible, the ultimate sleeper!! How did the custom diff paired with the carbon drive shaft change the dynamic of the car? also what was the motivating factor behind putting a 5 series clutch in the car?

I just wanted to reiterate this car has never been tracked! Also, please see the pictures for a Blackstone oil report, this motor is extemely healthy! Oil changes were frequently done, every 3k miles with Motul.

Hi, To pass emissions you would have to reinstall the factory Downpipes which are included in the sale. If a perspective buyer would like them installed, I would be happy to do that before the car leaves my possession. The solid trans Mounts do induce more vibration to the Chassis, however the inline 6 is such a smooth motor, it's not too noticeable. The motor Mounts are a stiffer derometer rubber and not completely solid. A very good compromise, the combination turned out great. The solid diff Mounts are a bit of a different story. They make the car sound very racecar like indeed, and you can hear the diff whine get higher pitched as you accelerate. It's a very cool sound in my opinion! As for the suspension, the Ohlins DFV are very good at what they do. At low impacts (cracks in road, debris, ect) you do feel everything, as you should from a performance perspective. It's the harsher impacts that make these shocks shine, absorbing the harsh crashing beautifully like most shocks can't. Also keep in mind they have many clicks of adjustment to suite your driving style. Street setting is 12 clicks, winding road is 7 clicks and track is 3 clicks from full stiff. You can dial in or remove oversteer or understeer to suite. The solid bushings and bearings had less of an impact on ride quality than I expected. That all being said, I run them on 3 clicks all the time. It is stiff, but sophisticatedly so. I hope this answers your questions!

I forgot to add about the headlights... the bumper cover was effectively pushed up on from cresting the curb from the bottom. The tabs in question are a known weak point in their design securing them to the Chassis. It's so common of a break, BMW made a repair kit to address the issue instead of having to purchase a whole headlight assembly.
@PAEuros Thank you! I built the car with Autox in mind instead of the track, as this is a "mechanical grip" car. As some of you may identify with, life sometimes gets in the way and I never got to autox it, and it has also never seen a track. The current alignment settings evolved into a killer aggressive street setup with tire wear in mind. An FYI, I've seen a peak of 1.22G, and an average of 1.19G on the BMW Performance V2 steering wheel display. Hope this answers your questions!
