We are pleased to present this 2011 BMW E70 X5 M finished in Alpine White over a Silverston Grey leather interior. The X5 M first debuted in 2009 and was the first M tuned sport utility vehicle, and the first M vehicle to be equipped with xDrive all-wheel-drive. The X5 M came equipped with a twin-turbocharged V8 engine, larger brakes, a specially tuned suspension, and unique bodywork. This 2011 example is said to have been fastidiously maintained under previous ownership, and was acquired by the seller in 2021. It comes equipped with 20” wheels, adaptive xenon headlights, heated seats, a panoramic moonroof, and much more. It is now being offered here for auction by its seller out of Pennsylvania, while showing just under 71k miles on the odometer.
The X5 M can be identified by its aggressive front and rear fascias, body-color extended wheel arches, quad-outlet exhaust, and body-color side skirts. This example is finished in classic Alpine White and is said to remain in excellent overall condition given its age and mileage. The seller notes that the vehicle received a paint correction and has ceramic coating on the paint, wheels, glass, and brake calipers. A chip is noted on the front, as well as an imperfection on the rear bumper within the rear wheel well, and a scratch on the tailgate which has been touched up. Under current ownership the exterior emblems and front kidney grilles were refinished in black, and removable 20% window tint was added. Equipment includes adaptive xenon headlights, a rear roof spoiler, adaptive brake lights, a 2-piece tailgate, power folding side mirrors, and 20″ Style 299 alloy wheels. The wheels wear floating BMW center caps and have been powder coated in satin black metallic, and come dressed in a set of Pirelli tires.
Inside, the cabin is upholstered in SIlvertone Grey Merino leather, and is highlighted by 14-way power adjustable heated M Sport Seats. Amenities include a leather wrapped M multi-function steering wheel, four-zone climate control, rear sunshades, a head-up display, Dynamic Cruise Control, and a DVD based navigation system. The seller notes that the cabin remains very well preserved having been regularly detailed, and confirms that all gauges, lights and features are fully functional. A set of Weathertech floor mats have been installed, and the original mats are said to remain with the car.
Power comes from a S63B44 twin-turbocharged 4.4L V8 which produces up to 547 HP and 501 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through an M Sport six-speed automatic transmission, providing for a 0-60 time of approixmetly four seconds. The X5 M features a specially tuned suspension with Adaptive Drive, M Servotronic power steering, and the largest brakes to be fitted to a production BMW at the time. The CARFAX highlights 17 service history records dating back to 2017, and the seller notes that under previous ownership all preventative maintenance was carried out ahead of schedule courtesy of Thompson BMW.
This sale will include a clean title. Representing the first generation of BMW’s highest performance sport utility vehicle, this X5 M is at home as a family hauler or weekend toy.

I have a 2013 X5M and I can attest to the absolute blast these vehicles are to drive. It doesn’t feel heavy and the auto trans never seems to be surprised especially in sport or M mode. They tend to chew through front tires but that could also be due to the need to experience a more spirited drive. We had another E70 V8 (non-M) and they are completely different animals. They don’t even feel like the same vehicle and the non-M was far less reliable with the dreaded valve stem seal issue (huge oil consumption). This is obviously a small sample size but the X5M has been rock solid. I always miss the pcar when she’s put away for the winter but the X5M makes the wait till spring not nearly as painful. Bid on this rig…you won’t be disappointed.
@Autotrend you are not wrong! And it still consumes oil. About 1 quart I put in between oil changes. Around 2000 miles! Better than the 1,000 miles they say it consumes ????
has this car had the bmw ccp done to it regarding the oil consumption issues these motors have? i have a 2012 x5 50 m sport. i would love to move up to the M truck you have.
