We are pleased to offer this 2011 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG finished in Obsidian Black Metallic over a black Designo Exclusive leather interior. Introduced as the spiritual successor to the legendary 300SL Gullwing Coupe, the SLS AMG is a hand-assembled GT-style supercar powered by a robust 6.2 L V8 engine rated at over 560 HP. This Canadian-delivered 2011 example showcases exclusive options including extended carbon-fiber trim, a premium Bang & Olufsen sound system, and a rare carbon fiber AMG engine cover. With all scheduled service carried out through authorized Mercedes dealers including a recent overhaul of the braking system, this SLS AMG is now being offered by its seller in Vancouver, B.C. while showing approximately 38k kilometers (24k miles) on the odometer.
The Obsidian Black Metallic paint is said to be in excellent condition with the exception of some very light scratches (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). Clear paint protective film was applied over the entire front end upon the seller’s purchase in 2014. CARFAX shows 2 accidents with the first under the original ownership with no record of repair, and the second under the current ownership which is said to have been a minor bumper tap with no resulting damage. This Coupe is most recognizable for its roof-hinged doors which pay homage to the 300SL Gullwing of 1954. Other noteworthy details include a retractable rear wing which also acts as an air brake, a lightweight aluminum bodyshell, and an F1-style rear fog lamp/reverse light. Factory options include carbon fiber mirror covers and 20” AMG 5-Twin-Spoke Light-Alloy wheels that come dressed in newer Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.
Inside, the cabin is appointed with black Designo Exclusive Nappa leather upholstery complimented by deviated stitching. Additionally, this example features the extended carbon fiber interior package which adds carbon-fiber trim to the seats, door sills, and center console. The interior is said to be in fantastic shape with minimal signs of wear, and the seller notes that the driver’s gullwing door hydraulics were replaced by Mercedes under their ownership. A factory upgraded Bang & Olufsen sound system is equipped along with the Mercedes Comand System, and the seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be fully functional.
Under the rare factory optioned AMG carbon-fiber engine cover, you will find an AMG-designed 6.2 L V8 mated to a 7-speed AMG Speedshift DCT automatic transmission with mechanical limited-slip differential. 563 HP is delivered to the rear wheels through a lightweight carbon fiber driveshaft allowing the SLS to accelerate from 0-60 MPH in as little as 3.5 seconds while reaching a top speed governed at 196 MPH. Routine maintenance has been kept up to date through authorized Mercedes dealerships including a new battery 4 years ago, and all new brake pads, rotors, and calipers 2 years ago. Service records are included and this SLS is said to be in superb mechanical condition.
This sale will include a set of 2 keys, original books and tools, service records, a car cover, battery trickle charger, and a clean title.

@cab2door Hi again,
No worries I will help with whatever I can! :)
The first one was a very minor incident that was under $2,000. That’s why it does not show under the accident report section of the carfax.
As for the second one, it was just a light tap in traffic.
We don’t have any pictures since both were insignificant incidents. And none of the carbon fiber parts of the vehicle were involved at all!
Hope that helps clear things up!
@MakaDEE Thanks for the information / clarification on the registration process.
On another note; Can you detail the accident(s) that happened. Any pictures of the damage and how it was repaired? Were any carbon fiber components damaged in those incidents?
Thanks
@cab2door Hello I have found information regarding the SLS and it’s certification.
“The US does allow CMVSS certified Canadian vehicles to be registered in the US if the vehicle is substantially similar to vehicles made by the same manufactured that is FMVSS certified. The sls is sold in the US, so there should be no problem with that. All you would require is a letter from the manufacture confirming that the CMVSS vehicle does confirm to the FMVSS, which we will provide with the car.”
In short, the SLS can be registered in the United States!
For your reference here is the link where I got the information:
https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2018/01/03/2017-28391/final-decision-that-certain-canadian-certified-vehicles-are-eligible-for-importation
@MakaDEE Thanks for getting those pictures. Looks like it is Canada certified only.
@PCARMARKET thank you!!
@cab2door Additional photos have been added to the gallery listing.
@cab2door I will post a picture of any stickers in the door and also under the hood. If that does not help please let me know, and I can look into it further! :)
Is there a U.S. Federal motor vehicle safety standards (FMVSS) sticker on the car? Either on door area or under hood?
Stunner of a car.
Bid in the amount of $80,000
@hansman11 to be completely honest we are from Vancouver BC Canada and are unsure exactly how the vehicle registration system works down there in California.
I can say for here, we go to our insurance company ICBC and transfer a title!
What would be the procedure to title this in California?
Thanks
@eurocol responded :)
@abacpm there are no known physical cracks on any of the carbon fiber parts, however there are minor scratches for example on the doorsill carbon fiber from regular wear and tear. These are super minor and are just from people getting in and out of the car.
Please let me know if you have any other questions :) !
PM sent
Does any of the carbon fiber have any cracks in the car .... also will this car be able to be registered in US
