We are pleased to offer this 2011 Porsche 997.2 Carrera GTS finished in Carrara White.  Remaining one of the most desirable models of the 997 generation, the GTS offers an ideal balance of refinement and driver-oriented performance. It features wide fenders, center-lock wheels, and a generous array of standard features including Porsche Sports Exhaust and PASM suspension.  This 2011 example commanded an original sticker price of over $117k and came factory optioned with the Sport Chrono Package Plus, Sport Suspension, a 6-speed manual transmission, and a black full leather interior.  It was purchased by the second and current owner in 2013 and has been garage-kept ever since while receiving proper routine maintenance.  Also featuring a Sharkwerks muffler bypass and custom integrated radar/laser detector system, this 2011 GTS is now being offered for auction by its owner out of Florida while showing just under 23k miles on the odometer.

This GTS is finished in the nonmetallic shade of Carrara White and features side model designations in black as well as wide bodywork shared with the all-wheel-drive Carrera 4 model.  Clear side marker lenses have been installed and clear paint protection film has been applied over the forward portion of the front end.  The lower front spoiler has also been covered in a black vinyl wrap which exhibits some road-going wear.  The seller also notes a small chip in the windshield towards the passenger side, detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report.  This GTS rides on 19” RS Spyder center-lock wheels finished in black with silver outer lips.  New Michelin Pilot Sport tires were installed during a recent service in 2020 along with new tire pressure monitoring sensors.

The black full leather interior features GTS Alcantara upholstery and Exclusive factory options including a Sport Shifter, storage bin with Porsche logo, and center console in leather.  Additional options include a thicker multifunction steering wheel in black Alcantara, the Bose Surround Sound System, extended navigation for PCM 3.0, the Sport Chrono Package Plus, and a fire extinguisher.  A rearview parking camera has been installed as well as a custom Valentine 1 radar detector and Blinder M-27 laser jammer with a display integrated into the rearview mirror.  Some minor wear is noted on the driver’s seat bolster and all gauges and accessories are said to be fully functional.

The 997.2 GTS carries a naturally aspirated 3.8L flat-six engine that has been factory tuned to achieve a higher output of 408 HP, compared with the standard Carrera S output of 385 HP.  The rear wheels are driven through a desirable 6-speed manual transmission.  Porsche Sports Exhaust (PSE) and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) are equipped as standard and this example features optional Sport Suspension as well as the Sport Chrono Package Plus.  An aftermarket Sharkwerks muffler bypass has been installed and the original muffler will be included in the sale. The original owner of the car is said to have carried out all maintenance through a Porsche dealer and the current owner has brought the car to a reputable Porsche specialist for all other routine services.  A collection of invoices is displayed in the photo gallery and the last service is said to have been carried out in late 2020.

This sale will include a set of two keys, the original window sticker, owner’s manuals, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, the original muffler, and a clean title.  Do not miss your chance to own this highly sought-after 6-speed GTS with under 23k miles traveled from new.

Congrats on the purchase. Absolutely incredible automobile in a RWD 6MT GTS wide-body configuration, and it's only going up from here. Great investment!

@BMPVSPI Well bought and congrats! Rest assured that having acquired a spectacular driver's 911 from enthusiasts, that you bought well and not something from some no-name dealer

I admired these 997.2 GTS coupes in white with black wheels /silver ring when they were new.
Happy to now have a chance to enjoy driving one.

    @JimKrouskop well said!

  • tjhuffner 2 years, 10 monthsago

@jeffy1 Can't speak for others, but I find value in a responsive seller who provides a thorough collection of images and supporting documentation. My experience with dealers - little to no documentation, and its more about the sale, and less about passion for the automobile.

  • JimKrouskop (registered bidder) 2 years, 10 monthsago

This is/is going to be a blue chip car. If anyone can pick it up for less than MSRP ($117K), it is a win IMO. Good luck bidders! This is exciting!

There’s one 40k mile on autotrader $78k. And one 4K mile on cars 97k. Both are 997.2gts 6spd manual. Now with 5% fee is 95k. Doesn’t make sense…

Saw this one on Bid Nerds video podcast. This is a steal, I would argue better than the GT3 of the same era because of how it is optioned.

I have had the privilege of knowing both the owner and this GTS for some years and just like me, he is an enthusiast. Only the best maintenance, care, and consideration. If I didn’t already have three 911’s in my garage this would definitely be added to the fleet. The 997.2 GTS is the pinnacle of the drivers 911, IMO. Not only is this one of last of the 3.8l motors it is paired with a manual transmission! In tandem with all the bits that come with a GTS, a rare specimen indeed. This will no doubt continue to be a sought after 911. To the future buyer, you will not be disappointed. GLWA! ~ Jordan

Hello all, still waiting for pcarmarket to upload the image mentioned previously, however, in the meantime, I was asked a question via DM that I think is important to mention here. The question is whether there has ever been smoking in the GTS...this has never occurred as I'm very sensitive to smoke personally, and indeed, is something that could linger in a car if its done. So rest assured this is not the case with this GTS.

  • bodamane (seller) 2 years, 10 monthsago

@Tm_66 Thank you for the question...its very small and hard to see so I've uploaded a picture I just took up close of the chip with a penny in the background. The chip itself is about the size of the head of a pin, then a line comes out on either side for a few millimeters. Its near the upper part of the windshield on the passenger side.

Good morning, there's a comment on the car's description of a chip on the windshield but have not been able to identify it on the pictures. Could you provide the number for the picture that best shows this chip. Thanks

  • bodamane (seller) 2 years, 10 monthsago

New photos have been posted of passenger seat and carpeting behind driver's side rear seat.

  • bodamane (seller) 2 years, 10 monthsago

@jfcl911 Good morning everyone, @jfcl911 commented on "scratches" seen on the carpeting behind the driver's side rear seat and on the passenger seat. I've just uploaded photos from this morning after I simply rubbed both materials and, once they are posted, you'll see they're gone. Its similar to the lines created when vacuuming a carpet/rug, and can also occur on alcantara. So just sitting on the material, placing down books, etc will cause this.

Little over a day left in the auction so as always, feel free to ask questions and i'll do my best to answer them.

  • 5kcoronet (registered bidder) 2 years, 10 monthsago

@jeffy1, I saw that same thread, actually the 4/21 and 4/22 posts that show the Vinanalytics at 2656 Coupes 2 worldwide, the question really does come down to the % between PDK & MT. I have witnessed about a 10 to 1 in the resale market PDK to MT, thus hoping there was some analytical expert that had the data out there...regardless, not too many GTS MT's come up each year....this looks like a great example!

  • bodamane (seller) 2 years, 10 monthsago

@jfcl911 Thanks so much for the questions...I believe its just how the carpet/alcantara was rubbed at the moment. I'll get some pics up hopefully tomorrow to give you some peace of mind.

The joy remains long after the price has been forgotten. I bought my black C2 GTS 6spd 2 years ago and overpaid. Never regretted it. I owned a 991 and a C7 and this car is just perfect!

    Nice car, love it!
@5kcoronet "how many 997.2 GTS MT were built?"
That's an interesting question and I did some research. My guess is ~ 1000 globally is 6 spd RWD coupe.
Rennlist has a post to collect Spec for 997.2 gts. You can find 78/172(45%) RWDcoupes are manual. Another interesting finding is among .2 gts there's 172 RWD and only 21 AWD.
    So the number should be ~ 2656 coupes* 90% (RWD) * 45%(mannual) = 1075.
So I guess it's not impossible to find one on the market. Just need patience.

This appears to be a nicely spec'ed GTS in excellent condition. Values are increasing rapidly but I believe there is still time to get ahead of the appreciation curve. The Covid-tide has elevated all types of cars, but 997s in particular are enjoying an even greater bounce.

Within the 997 family, I think the GTS C2 manual will be the pick of the litter among non GT cars. It is extremely rare based on the number of cars available at any given time, likely even more rare than 997 GT3s, although it seems nobody knows for sure. Global GTS production was 6,747 and 2,656 coupes. Of the coupes, I speculate maybe 20% are manuals. Of those, perhaps 30% were sold in the US? So we are talking about 150, maybe 200 total coupe GTS sold in the US. One can only speculate how many were AWD vs RWD, but let's say it was 50/50. All things considered, you have a rare bird in the 997 GTS coupe manual.

I recently owned a 997.2 GT3 and regret selling it every minute. Prices have increased so rapidly that I can't even afford to buy my old car back. The next best thing, IMO, is a GTS. I could wax poetic all day long about the GTS. If I didn't have an offer on a GTS already, I would be bidding on this car. I expect this will hit 6 figures and be well worth it. If you are in the market for a fantastic driver's car that is destined to be a classic, I don't think you can go wrong with this car. Good luck to the seller and all bidders.

The ultimate version of the ultimate naturally aspirated wide-body 911 outside of the race-face 997.2 GT3RS. I've followed the market closely and there hasn't been one of these in a manual coupe for sale for a while. With GT3RS hitting $200k commonly, 997.2 GT3's in prime condition are worth $150k if it hasn't been tracked. And GT3s had a sticker price only $3,000 more than a GTS in 2011.

To answer the question on how many were sticks, nobody knows for sure. I do suspect this car will eclipse the 993 for desirability.

  • 5kcoronet (registered bidder) 2 years, 10 monthsago

Does anyone know how many 997.2 GTS MT were built? I have heard around 300-400, but hoping someone knows for sure?

@PD1978 I'll answer your second question first...I assume the Valentine One is a 1st generation as it was installed in 2013.

Regarding the DME, I had it done yesterday (6/4) afternoon and uploaded a screenshot of the report to PCARMARKET for them to update the listing.  I'll describe my understanding of the findings as explained to me, but to be clear, my knowledge is superficial and based solely on what was told to me.  Once the report is uploaded, you'll see the only "over-revs" reported is in Range 1.  This range is above 7300 RPMs but below 7500 RPMs, which is still below redline.  Furthermore, there is a calculation one can do to understand what the "over-revs" value means, which in my case was 259 ignitions in Range 1 only, equating to approximately 0.69 seconds that the engine spent in the RPM range stated above.  I welcome all thoughts on this, but I think what is clear is that the GTS is truly in exceptional condition given the very brief time spent just below the redline, and absolutely no time spent higher than redline.

  • PD1978 (registered bidder) 2 years, 10 monthsago

Any chance you have a DME report?

Is the V1 gen1 or the current gen2?

    Thank you.

  • bodamane (seller) 2 years, 10 monthsago

@SDSU1993 Thank you very much for that clarification. Indeed the higher readings were on the clear film and not strictly the paint. It is all original paint and simply has the clear protection film as described.

  • SDSU1993 (registered bidder) 2 years, 10 monthsago

Beautiful car. Likely the exact specs I would have ordered, which makes me now want it instead of continuing my search for a G body. Looks like the paint protection film is impacting the paint meter readings. I checked the readings against readings from my 360 Modena that has original paint and film protection and they were very consistent with what we see here. So, highly likely original paint on this car (in case anybody was wondering)

Good day all!  I appreciate your interest in the auction of my 2011 997.2 GTS.  I was fortunate to have acquired this 911 through the connection of a close college friend in Texas.  The original owner, a long time PCA member, was on the fence about selling the car, but in the end felt that he just wasn’t driving the GTS enough to justify keeping it, having had it for 2 years and putting under 6,500 miles on it (April 2013).  I’ve seen him a few times since then and each time he tells me how he asked himself “What have I done?” as he watched the GTS leave his neighborhood.  I’ll likely have the same sentiment by the end of the auction, but life has a way of forcing change on us, and current circumstances have me in a place where selling the GTS makes sense.  Like the prior owner, I have used this car sparingly, so it remains a pristine, low-mile example. With all that being said, I’m happy to answer any questions you might have the best I can. - Erik
