The pinnacle of the 997.2 Carrera series, the GTS features a wide bodyshell from the Carrera 4 model along with center-lock wheels, the Sport Exhaust System, and a more powerful 3.8-liter engine. This 2011 example comes finished in Basalt Black Metallic over a Black leather interior and features the optional Aerokit Cup package as well as Sport Chrono Package Plus and a 6-speed manual transmission. It was sold new in Canada and is said to have remained enthusiast-owned and maintained ever since. The car has also been modified with Topgear mufflers and a GT3 shifter assembly for a more immersive driving experience. Showing approximately 111k kilometers or about 68k miles, this Carrera GTS is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Ontario.

This GTS is finished in Basalt Black Metallic and features the Aerokit Cup option which adds a revised front bumper cover and lip spoiler as well as side skirts and a GT3-style rear wing. It was also optioned with Bi-Xenon headlights with PDLS and Carrera GTS model designation side stripe decals in silver. The seller notes a removable black coating has been applied to the rear model lettering, the windows are tinted, and red taillights have been installed in place of the originally optioned clear taillights. It rides on a set of black 19” RS Spyder Design center-lock wheels dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. The seller notes three tires show production date codes from 2019 while the other was produced in late 2017. Some signs of road-going wear are noted on the front-end clear paint protection film, lip spoiler, and rear quarter panels. The front bumper was also replaced following the front-end accident shown on the CARFAX report in 2015. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The cabin features Black leather upholstery with the deletion of the standard Alcantara GTS interior package. Options include heated front seats, self-dimming mirrors, the BOSE Surround Sound System, a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, an XM satellite radio receiver, and an extended navigation module for PCM 3.0. The seller notes a black leather steering wheel cover with red stitching has been installed and some minor signs of wear are present on the common touchpoints as well as some discoloration on the front seats.

This GTS is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six engine rated at 408 HP, an increase of 23 HP over the Carrera S. The rear wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission featuring an upgraded GT3 short shifter assembly. The seller notes aftermarket Topgear mufflers have been installed and service history is available up until 2019. In preparation for sale, the car received an oil change, a wheel alignment, and a new tire pressure monitoring sensor (TPMS). The seller notes the OEM exhaust system is included.

This sale will include owner’s manuals, a window sticker, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “This unicorn 997 GTS with Aerokit has the ideal drivetrain (RWD) and transmission (manual).  Enthusiast-owned and maintained all its life, this is a great driver's car with only tasteful and reversible modifications (OEM black wheels with silver lip, red taillights, Top Gear UK exhaust, GT3 short shifter).  Recently serviced and ready to be enjoyed by the next lucky caretaker!”

How many owners has the car had since 2017? It's unclear on the carfax

  • gcurnew 9 months, 1 weekago

I owned this car for four years. Bought it used from Porsche Centre Calgary and sold it to a dentist in Toronto-area in 2017. Here's a link to the FOR SALE ad on Rennlist which will answer any potential buyer's questions about the car's earlier life. Bottom line: the car was well cared for and maintained from 40k-88k KM. The accident on the Carfax was just the bumper cap; not metal damage whatsoever. https://rennlist.com/forums/vehicle-marketplace-old/982988-fs-2011-carrera-gts-6-speed-aerokit.html

Good morning everyone and welcome to closing day! We are excited to see this GTS go to the next enthusiast to be driven and enjoyed. Paint meter readings show original, DME / overrev report is clean, and some dry ice would make the underbody look like new again. Don't wait until the last minute to bid on this triple black beauty!

    Quick recap of some logistics.

    US Bidders:
-this car requires no changes or modifications to enter the US
-subject to 2.8464% US duty upon entry
-we can facilitate the paperwork, shipping and brokerage on your behalf

    Canadian buyers:
-we will accept either USD or CAD funds
-shipping can be arranged anywhere in Canada

    Good luck to all!

  • Kingscross (seller) 9 months, 1 weekago

No problem @buyhard, there are no dumb questions. The price is in $USD. Importing a car usually seems daunting the first time for most but you realize it isn't that scary or complicated after you've done it once. We have lots of experience sending cars in both directions and can facilitate everything from door-to-door. You just have to take into account transport to your ZIP code, brokerage fee (~$300) and duty of 2.8464% on the sale price. We will be here to assist every step of the way!

  • buyhard (registered bidder) 9 months, 1 weekago

@buyhard That sounds good. Here comes a dumb question. The bid is currently $60k, is that in US or canadian? Also what other cost should I consider to have it shipped to Charlotte NC. Import fees, taxes, auction fees... Not trying to hide I've never bought a car on auction or out of USA. But am willing. :)

  • Kingscross (seller) 9 months, 1 weekago

@buyhard the cluster does not have to be changed as the digital speedometer can be changed to imperial. If you prefer to change the analog dials to imperial regardless, we can guide you to more cost-effective ways to get the job done without changing the entire cluster and the odometer out of sync with the car. Parts are about $190 and takes about 2 hours.

  • buyhard (registered bidder) 9 months, 1 weekago

Sorry. I'm a little confused will the cluster panel be changed to imperial? Is this included with purchase?

  • Kingscross (seller) 9 months, 1 weekago

Less than 24 hours left! Underbody photos have been posted @ninenineone. The auction timer resets to 2 minutes with every bid within the last 2 minutes, so don't wait until the last 2 minutes! Murphy's Law, you don't want to miss this car because of a connection blip. We will be here until the end to answer any further questions.

DME / overrev report has been posted in the gallery. @Cozad1955 @Rusty.Friddell

  • Kingscross (seller) 9 months, 1 weekago

Overrev report was run today, and here are the results! Only range 1s and a blip of range 2s over 500 hours ago. Photos will be uploaded as well. Regarding bore scoring, this is a fairly rare phenomenon on the 997.2 9A1 engines and there are no obvious signs of internal damage. The previous owner did not report any signs of burning oil or having to top up between changes. The engine sounds good on cold start, idles clean and pulls strong, as you can see in the video.

have you looked for "bore scoring" and do you have an over rev report on the car? Thanks.

  • Kingscross (seller) 9 months, 1 weekago

@wpaugh911 paint meter readings have been posted! Very consistent ~100μm across the board except the front end with PPF, which adds ~200μm (8 mil) so those panels read ~300μm.

  • Kingscross (seller) 9 months, 2 weeksago

We reached out to the previous owner who commissioned the steering wheel cover and he replied: "the leather is clean underneath but I recall there was some wear on the stitching".

  • Rusty.Friddell (registered bidder) 9 months, 2 weeksago

What’s the steering wheel like under the cover?

  • Audiophilic (registered bidder) 9 months, 2 weeksago

To @carterruss, and anyone else thinking of importing this beauty, I am the owner of a Canadian 997.2 GT3 RS that I purchased from @seller. Importing it, along with 2 other Canadian cars was a breeze with TFX. If you have a digital speedo that can output in MPH, you don't need to touch the analog clusters.

I have nothing but great things to say about the seller as I've purchased many enthusiast cars from them. Bid and buy with confidence!

  • carterruss (registered bidder) 9 months, 2 weeksago

Interesting I talked to two known importers in NY that said the analog cluster needed to be changed and were adamant about it.

For bidders: previous owner took care of the car

  • Kingscross (seller) 9 months, 2 weeksago

@carterruss yes, we can have the cluster and all of the digital displays switched over to imperial units for you. Our former 997.2 GT3 RS (also 2011) is now being enjoyed with a metric analog speedometer by its new owner in California. The analog speedometer did NOT have to be changed. Canadian cars are the easiest way to get a proper Euro-spec / metric cluster like in Germany where they came from, without crossing the Atlantic!

I tried to buy this car back at the end of last year before the owner had gone on vacation and it was stated the dash cluster needed to be converted to US per the letter of conformity...are you staying you will handle this?

  • Kingscross (seller) 9 months, 2 weeksago

@wpaugh911 paint meter readings have already been provided to PCARMARKET and should be posted any moment now. Only the front bumper was replaced after the incident (nothing else was touched) and all of the body panel's measured original. Technically the bumper does too, as it was a brand new piece from Porsche.

@rusty.friddell @ninenineone we are scheduled to get the DME report and underbody photos you requested this week. Stay tuned!

  • wpaugh911 (registered bidder) 9 months, 2 weeksago

@Kingscross Are you able to provide paint meter readings for the entire car? I see there was an accident listed on the Carfax. Also, Are you able to provide a DME report?

  • Rusty.Friddell (registered bidder) 9 months, 2 weeksago

    DMW report?

  • Kingscross (seller) 9 months, 2 weeksago

To all our friends watching from south of the border -- this vehicle does not need any modification to enter the US.

We just delivered a gem of a 928 GTS (also black on black) to an ecstatic owner in New Mexico via PCARMARKET. We have lots of experience sending cars in both directions and can facilitate everything from door-to-door. In this case, the US buyer is only responsible for transport to their ZIP code, brokerage fee (~$300) and duty of 2.8464% on the sale price.

We will be here to assist every step of the way!

  • Kingscross (seller) 9 months, 2 weeksago

Good morning and welcome to our auction for this excellent example of the 997 generation. This is not a garage queen, this car was driven and exercised throughout its life by diligent caretakers and enthusiasts. Just look at the seat bolsters and other key interior touchpoints, which are in better condition than many 911s with less mileage. A few important notes:

-body paint is all original (paint meter readings will be posted soon)
    -OEM exhaust is included
-the interior is black leather with sport seats (not full leather or alcantara)
-vehicle does not need any modifications to be imported into the US

We will be here to answer all of your questions. The car is currently resting in our Toronto showroom and will remain there until it is picked up by the next lucky caretaker. In-person viewings are available during business hours, please DM to arrange!

  • ninenineone (registered bidder) 9 months, 2 weeksago

Based on the carfax it appears to have been driven through the Canadian winters.

Possible to get detailed underbody photos to show if there are any rust spots.

Are the wheel wells by the body or any other sports showing early signs of rust?

  • exert 9 months, 2 weeksago

The listing says full leather interior, but the pictures show a plastic dash, unless I’m mistaken. The build sheet seems to confirm this since it says “Black sports seats in leather” rather than full leather interior.

  • Phteven (registered bidder) 9 months, 2 weeksago

@Bill930P I didn't see the explicit door card tag saying the vehicle complies with Canadian motor vehicle standards, but as long as that is present, you can fill out an HS7 NHTSA form, checking the box that this meets NHTSA and EPA requirements, 2.5% duty, and you're good to go.
I'm not a lawyer, and there may be nuances with Porsche I'm not aware of, so caveat emptor

  • Mlucas 9 months, 2 weeksago

Bid in the amount of $15,000

  • Bill930P (registered bidder) 9 months, 2 weeksago

What are the implications for bringing this into the US?
