The 2011 Porsche 997 GT3 RS remains one of the most collectable modern 911’s on the road.  Being the last GT3 RS to utilize the legendary Mezger engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, this example bears a clean DME report and is ideal for Porsche collectors and enthusiast alike.  It is now being offered in excellent condition by its seller out of North Carolina with just under 29k miles on the odometer.

This RS is finished in Carrara White with red accents and distinctive RS checkered flag livery.  Ceramic coating has been applied over the entire exterior of the vehicle including the wheels and windshield for the next owner’s convenience.  The seller notes the exterior to remain in excellent, unmodified condition (detailed images provided in the photo gallery).  The seller also states that a new front axle lift system has been installed by a certified Porsche dealership in 2018.  This example rides on iconic red painted RS center-lock wheels that wear Michelin Sport Cup 2 tires dated from 2019.

Inside, you will find a black full leather and Alcantara interior that has been configured with performance in mind. From the factory, this example has been equipped with weight saving features such as carbon fiber Sport bucket seats, cloth door pulls, and a rear seat delete.  The seller states that an OEM half roll cage and seat harness were dealer installed when the vehicle was brand-new.  The interior remains in excellent condition with all electronics in working order.

This 997 is equipped with a highly sought after naturally aspirated 3.8 L flat-six Mezger engine rated at an impressive 450 HP.  The rear wheels are driven by way of a desirable 6-speed manual gearbox making for a driving experience that is second to none.  0-60 is achieved in approximately 3.8 seconds while reaching top speeds north of 190 MPH.  Both the sound and performance of the vehicle are enhanced thanks to an aftermarket Shark Werks center muffler bypass which was installed just last year.  The seller notes that the original exhaust will be included with the sale.  The seller also notes that a brand new set of brake pads have been installed all-around as well as a pair of front brake rotors.  Always maintained by authorized Porsche technicians, this GT3 RS recently had a full PPI performed just recently by Porsche of Southpoint.  The car is said to be up-to-date on all service and stands ready to be enjoyed on the road.

The sale will include two keys, service records, a clean Carfax report, and the original exhaust system.

Now that we're within the last 24 hours of this auction, I wanted to highlight a couple things that pushed me to buy this car in the first place:

    1. It has only had 2 owners. No dealership or performance shop miles put on by people without a vested interest in caring for it.
    2. Full service history from new, all at Porsche dealerships.
    3. Still a showstopper with some miles on the odometer - pictures don't do it justice
    4. It has been loved the way a Porsche should be... from behind the wheel. But as you can tell from the DME, not thrashed around. Combined with it being a single owner car when I bought it, that was a rare combo and still is today.

One point of clarification - in addition to German Car Repair's report, I had Porsche Southpoint look the car over as the CPO was coming to a close. They performed their "111 point inspection" but limited their comments to "we didn't find anything to add to German Car Repair's findings".

    GCR's findings were:
    1. A mild vibration at light brake application due to warped front rotors - fix is new rotors and brake
    2. Some difficulty shifting between 3rd and 4th when the trans was cold - much to my surprise, a trans fluid flush and fill resolved that... was hoping for new parts under warranty!
    3. Some CANBUS errors - this was just due to a dead battery when I first bought the car. I had no idea leaving the key in the ignition, even when switched off, kept a lot of CPU's running and killed it

Does this car pass NY and CA smog test with current Shark Werks center muffler bypass or needs to use original exhaust?

Wow, I've been watching for cars here for a while but it's surreal to see the mine posted for sale! Owning this car for the past 2+ years was a dream come true. I still smile every time I see it in the garage or get behind the wheel. While it's difficult to let it go, I hope the lucky new owner has more time to drive it than I have lately. When the exhaust flaps open up at 4k and you're carving corners, this car takes you some place special.

I'm happy to answer any questions you guys have, so fire away. Happy bidding!
