Now available for auction is this rare 2011 Porsche 997.2 Carrera GTS Cabriolet presented in Carrara White over a black leather and Alcantara interior.  Originally custom ordered by the seller as one of the very few 6-speed GTS Cabriolet’s ever produced, this 997.2 remains on MSO having never been officially titled to any private owner.  Exclusive options equipped from the factory include a limited-slip differential, Sport Chrono Package Plus, and Carrara White interior details.  Reported to have been fastidiously dealer maintained and recently treated to full ceramic protection at a cost of over $7k, this never before titled GTS is now being offered by its original owner out of Florida with approximately 55k miles showing on the odometer.

This GTS is said to have always been kept in climate-controlled storage and the Carrara White finish is reported to be in excellent condition with only a few minor stone chips and a very small hairline crack on the left rear taillight (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery).   Within the last year and a half, this GTS received a Fenylab complete ceramic protection treatment at a cost of over $7k, which is backed by a 7-year warranty.  Some noteworthy details on this example include factory optioned clear taillights, Bi-Xenon headlights with the Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), “Carrera GTS” side model designations, and 19” center lock RS-Spyder Design wheels that come dressed in new Michelin tires.

Inside, the black leather and Alcantara upholstered cabin is said to be in great shape with some minor signs of wear on the outer driver’s seat bolster.  A protective Fenylab ceramic coating has also been applied to the interior surfaces.  Exclusive options listed on the original window sticker include heated Adaptive Sport Seats with driver memory and Porsche crested headrests, instrument dials and a Sport Chrono timer in Carrara White, PCM 3.0 with an extended navigation module, the Bose Surround Sound System, a 6-disc CD/DVD changer, and an XM satellite radio receiver.  The cabriolet top was previously replaced by a Porsche dealer for cosmetic purposes along with the motors as a recommended precaution.

The 997.2 GTS is powered by a 3.8 L flat-six engine capable of producing 408 HP stock, an increase of 23 HP over the standard Carrera S.  A highly desirable 6-speed manual transmission with a factory optioned limited-slip differential sends power to the rear wheels allowing for a 0-60 time of approximately 4.4 seconds.  A Fabspeed center muffler delete has been installed for increased power output and sound, and the original muffler will also accompany the sale.  This example is said to have been dealer maintained throughout its life with a preemptive 60k mile service carried out recently in 2020 along with the installation of new brake pads and rotors.  A DME report is provided for reference in the photo gallery and the seller confirms this GTS to be in excellent driving order with a complete collection of service records.

This sale will include a set of 2 keys, the original window sticker and dealer paperwork, tools, service records, and a factory wind deflector.  Remaining on MSO as a never before the titled vehicle, the sale of this 997 must be carried out through a dealership and the seller has offered to help facilitate this.  Do not miss your chance to become the first official owner of this rare and beautifully appointed 6-speed Carrera GTS Cabriolet.

Agreed guys, I have experience with this. As long as the MSO is reassigned to another dealer, that dealer can then turn around and wholesale/retail the car. If the MSO was assigned to an individual, then it would have to be titled for to then be sold.

In a nutshell, this seems legit. I am a long time collector, former dealer owner and currently have a dealer license in 2 different states. I would have no problem with this.

  • Paddlesr4canoes (seller) 3 years, 3 monthsago

@az911 I am no longer a dealership. I have a dealer who can facilitate the transaction and collect sales tax if in Florida. Any dealer can do this, too. Not complicated. First titled owner.

  • alexdad (registered bidder) 3 years, 3 monthsago

I agree with az911..... Knowing a bit about an MSO ... It's the Birth Certificate for the car. The positive is that other than typical sales tax at whatever rate your state charges there shouldn't be any other costs. It is possible the if it goes from the MSO to your name / title it would be considered a "new car" for rate purposes. Only a dealer can keep a car on an MSO.... I did bid on the car earlier as these facts don't cloud the transfer or purchase.

  • az911 (registered bidder) 3 years, 3 monthsago

So to be clear... the selling dealership will be taking title to this car so it's sold on a Florida state title? It is my understanding that only a franchise new car store can transfer a manufacturer's certificate of origin when a car is new.

@targahawk all taxes and fees paid when imported into California by LA Auto Gallery October 2010. I am no longer a dealer but have an associate who said they would help should someone not want to keep on MSO. I am not aware of any fines or other fees nor have I incurred them in my decades in the automotive industry.

  • targahawk (registered bidder) 3 years, 3 monthsago

Does the dealer who is facilitating the deal know if there are any back taxes, fines, or other expenses that will be incurred for the vehicle not being titles for 10 years?

  • LopezB4985 (registered bidder) 3 years, 3 monthsago

@Paddlesr4canoes @PCARMARKET any way we can get the video uploaded of the car driving?

  • Paddlesr4canoes (seller) 3 years, 3 monthsago

@LopezB4985 I submitted a short slow driving video which showcased some of the sounds. I did not do a startup video. It is far better than stock sport. Same noise level as stock at idle but noticeably louder when driving. A very harmonic purr like an old Ferrari at speed and it rips when you get the revs up. It does burble when letting off but not popping. I didn’t do pipes or headers because I’m on the phone too much. Clutch does not need replacement for a very long time if it is driven like I have.

  • LopezB4985 (registered bidder) 3 years, 3 monthsago

Is there any startup video to hear the fabspeed muffler delete? Also, has the clutch ever been replaced?

@LARacer looks like some of the top up photos didn’t make it to listing. Can you PM me I’ll send to you. Top is like new. Will get a close up photo of the seat too.

  • LARacer (registered bidder) 3 years, 3 monthsago

There aren't many pictures with the top up, and it's difficult to tell if there is any wear (like the kind you seen when a soft top has been stored with the top down for some time). Is it possible to get some more pictures of the top?

I'd also like to see a clear picture of the wear on the driver's seat bolster with fewer reflections of the shiny black leather.

  • csmarkham (registered bidder) 3 years, 3 monthsago

Not a critique of the car, GLWA, but in the Vehicle Analysis Log (photo 62), the M_120 total misfires are "65535". For non-computer geeks reading, this is an obvious 16-bit integer counter overflow. While possible the car experienced >65k misfires (to exactly this number), that would seem very unlikely from the rest of the report. Just something that jumped out to me, apparently a software error in the PWSIS.

  • Paddlesr4canoes (seller) 3 years, 3 monthsago

@NekBoiz they’re so clean and rash-free, that’s the reflection of the street you’re seeing.

  • NekBoiz (registered bidder) 3 years, 3 monthsago

For pictures 55 and 56, are the wheel’s dirty, is it the paint, or is there curb rash?

  • fan_f1 (registered bidder) 3 years, 3 monthsago

Ahhhh nice. Looks good. The 997.2 GTS....PORSCHE’s first time using the GTS moniker and created a new performance line. GLWS!

@Paddlesr4canoes he asking about a wind deflector??

  • Paddlesr4canoes (seller) 3 years, 3 monthsago

@TheGlennster I’m not sure what you mean. What is a rear splitter? Thank you.

  • Paddlesr4canoes (seller) 3 years, 3 monthsago

Good morning everyone. This car is in spectacular condition and just received new Michelin Tires, new brake pads and rotors, new battery, and complete service at Porsche. Zero issues and an exciting driver. I will try to keep up with everyone’s questions. Current mileage is just under 53,000.

  • TheGlennster (registered bidder) 3 years, 3 monthsago

Is there a rear splitter installed?
