Up for auction is this 2011 Porsche 997.2 Turbo S Coupe finished in Basalt Black Metallic. The second-generation 997 Turbo debuted at the 2009 Frankfurt MotorShow featuring a larger direct fuel injected engine, while the range-topping Turbo S version came standard Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), the Sport Chrono Package, and center-locking 19” wheels. This 2011 Turbo S was configured with exclusive painted hardback Sport Seats, a center console and shifter surround in Basalt Black Metallic, the ParkAssist System, and two-tone Black and Cream full leather upholstery. This Turbo S has been further enhanced with an upgraded Tubi exhaust and high-flow catalytic converters. Sold new at Gold Coast Porsche of New York at an original sticker price over $166k, this well-appointed Turbo S Coupe is now being offered for auction by its seller out of North Carolina with approximately 41k miles showing on the odometer.

This 997.2 comes finished in a Basalt Black Metallic, a shade named for volcanic rock with distinctive bluish-purple undertones. The seller notes some minor signs of road-going wear at the bottoms of the rocker panels, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.  This Turbo S rides on factory 19” center-locking RS Spyder wheels dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.

Inside, the driver is greeted by a two-tone Black and Cream full leather interior with an Alcantara headliner, exclusive painted hardback Sport Seats, and a matching Basalt Black Metallic center console and PDK gear selector surround.  A K40 radar detector and laser jamming system is equipped with a display integrated into the rearview mirror.  The cabin is described to be in excellent condition for the car’s mileage and a complete list of factory options is provided below:

  • 342      Heated Seats (Front)
  • 635      ParkAssist System (Rear)
  • 686      XM(R) Satellite Radio Receiver
  • 710      Two-Tone Combination Turbo S
  • A1        Black
  • BS       Black/Cream Full Leather Inter
  • XME    Center Console Painted in Ext. Color
  • XSA     Sport Seat Backrests in Ext. Color
  • XWS    PDK Gate Surround in Ext. Color

This Turbo S is equipped with a direct fuel injected 3.8L twin-turbocharged flat-six paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (PDK) sending as much as 530 HP and 516 lb.-ft of torque stock to all four wheels.  Acceleration from 0-60 MPH occurs in approximately 3 seconds with a top speed of nearly 200 MPH.  The sound and power output has been enhanced with the installation of high-flow catalytic converters and a Tubi rear muffler.  Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) are equipped as standard along with the Sport Chrono Package.  Some maintenance history is provided on CARFAX and the seller reports the car was recently inspected by Hendrick Porsche of Charlotte, North Carolina.  The inspection noted a tear in the passenger front lower control arm bushing as well as an aftermarket transmission tune which has since been removed. A full inspection and diagnostic report is provided in the gallery.

This sale will include a recent inspection invoice and a clean title. The ultimate 911 Turbo of the 997 generation, this tastefully modified Turbo S is not to be overlooked.

Description says 'Basalt Black Metallic', which means the option code should be Z4. However in the build sheet, which looks like its from VIN Analytics, it is listed as 'A1 Black', which is a solid black color.

    @jhelms thank you

  • jhelms (seller) 2 years, 4 monthsago

@Tebo83 Yes the transmission was tuned before we got it and that was the cause of the issue. It has since been reflashed back to stock and is operating correctly

  • Tebo83 (registered bidder) 2 years, 4 monthsago

@jhelms The PPI says that PDK feels very clunky and shift response is very delayed. Can you please comment if this has been fixed and what is the current condition of the transmission? Thank you

@sleepili Car does not have a CEL and does not show any fault codes for emissions

  • sleepili (registered bidder) 2 years, 4 monthsago

@sleepili Also assuming no CEL issues as well?

@Ejdean67 Absolutely. Just hit contact seller and we can set something up

  • jhelms (seller) 2 years, 4 monthsago

@BigDam The original exhaust is no longer with the car. The Tubi system includes high-flow catalytic converters. Due to strict emissions standards in California, it would likely not pass California emission without switching to a factory exhaust system. I would recommend checking your local emissions testing requirements to confirm.

@mgalardeharmon Hello! Thank you, it's a phenomenal car. I believe Porsche has marked this the way they have due to the control arm bushing condition. The suspension has been inspected by Porsche and our shop as well with no components noted as loose. You are welcome to have the car inspected during the auction. Just selected Contact Seller and we can schedule a time

  • jhelms (seller) 2 years, 4 monthsago

@mgalardeharmon This was determined to not need immediate attention but has been disclosed as it could easily be replaced or upgraded, if desired, by the buyer.

  • Ejdean67 2 years, 4 monthsago

can this car be inspected in NC

  • mgalardeharmon (registered bidder) 2 years, 4 monthsago

Apologies I do see where it is mentioned that a tear was discovered in the front lower control bushing but it does not say if it was repaired?

    Thank you

  • mgalardeharmon (registered bidder) 2 years, 4 monthsago

Hello very nice Turbo S. Can you speak about the steering and suspension report not being loose?

    Kind regards

  • Tripssix (registered bidder) 2 years, 4 monthsago

Also interested if this car can be registered in California?

Are the original exhaust and catalytic converters included with the sale? California EPA requirements are crazy!
