We are pleased to present this outstanding 2011 Porsche 997.2 Carrera 4S Coupe finished in Basalt Black Metallic over a premium dark Grey Natural Leather interior.  With its naturally aspirated 3.8 L flat-six engine sending power to all four wheels, this generously configured Carrera 4S also highlights some very desirable factory options including PASM Sports Suspension, Sport Chrono Package Plus, Sport Exhaust, and a 6-speed manual transmission.  Just over 20k miles from new, this impeccable 2-owner 2011 example is now being offered for auction by its seller in New Jersey, having recently undergone a full service and inspection.

The Basalt Black Metallic paint is said to be in near flawless original condition.  Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with paint meter readings.  This Carrera 4S features wide hips derived from the 911 Turbo as well as a model-specific rear center reflector band and silver lower front grilles.  Optional features on this example include Bi-Xenon headlights and 19” 911 Turbo II wheels complemented by factory full-color center crests, 5mm wheel spacers, and a 20mm lower ride height via Sports Suspension.  The seller reports that all new tires were mounted and balanced along with 2 new TPMS sensors in December of 2020.

This 997.2 showcases a premium Dark Grey Natural Leather interior with Adaptive Sport Seats in leather.  The cabin is said to be in pristine condition and the $116,745 factory specification sheet details the following options:

  • Z4        Basalt Black Metallic

This second-generation 997 C4S is powered by a direct fuel-injected 3.8 L flat-six engine that sends 385 HP to all four wheels by way of a desirable 6-speed manual transmission.  The optional Sport Chrono Package works along with PASM Sport Suspension and Sport Exhaust to provide a significantly enhanced driving experience.  All routine maintenance has reportedly been kept up to date with its most recent service carried out in December of 2020 which included fluids, filters, and an inspection.

This sale will include a set of 2 keys, owner’s books, and a clean title.  Remarkably well-kept and loaded with desirable options, this low-mileage C4S is an ideal selection for any discerning buyer.

Clean, low mile, manual 997.2 are getting more and more scarce. The winning bid was on the high side, but this was one of the cleanest, highly optioned, low mileage, 997.2 manual tranny cars on the market recently. As for turbos, many people (including myself) much prefer NA engines for a variety of reasons. An NA 997.2 has plenty of oomph to have fun with on the street, weighs less/is more nimble, and is arguably more reliable/less maintenance than a Turbo. For someone seeking the classic 911 recipe, a car like this can be more desirable than a 997TT.

@krispy I thought you were. It is a beautiful car. Hardback seats, leather dash ... beautiful. Enjoy! I went from a 991 Carrera to a 997 GTS 6MT ... and it is exactly what I want!

Great job seller, but buyers might want to invest in a couple Google strokes to get some accurate values. Maybe swing by a couple dealers. LOL..

@mbarnes916 997.2 manual coupes are some of the most sought after vehicles in the Porsche market today. Some recent GTS sales just exceeded GT3 values.

Hey guys beautiful car. Quick question. It looks like the leather is pealing back on the passenger rear seat in one of the photos. Is that just an illusion or is something that is an issue or that will be fixed?

Porsche calls for major service (plugs, etc.) every 4 years or 10,000 miles. The Carfax doesn't show either of the services that should have happened. Do you have any info about those services?

I sold my 2015 4S to return to the 997.2 4S. Wanting a coupe because I’m BALD how I wish this auction was 1 year ago. From 2013-2021 you can no longer see the gorgeous Flat Six Engine. This is a awesome year + a few 2012’s of the 997.2 The 4S Rules! GiddyUp

@mbarnes916 i apologize, I thought it was visible in the picture. There is a very very small ding right on the flat part of the lip smaller than 1/4 of the size of a dime. Barely noticeable. No paint broken.

  • mbarnes916 (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

I couldn't tell in the newly uploaded picture of the front fender if there was any damage. Is there damage to the fender or any blemishes in the paint?

@PD1978 Hello and thanks for reaching out. I have actually sold 2 cars to customers in Canada over the last month and they were able to arrange transportation each with a company out of Canada. It only took them roughly a week to get the cars picked up. If you were the wining bidder, I have no problem holding a car for timing with a carrier within reason, roughly 2 weeks. Beyond that, it becomes a bit of an issue with space in my warehouse.

  • Ambassador-Auto (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@Cyph3r7 PCar has just uploaded a picture of the front driver fender above the tire. Thanks

  • PD1978 (registered bidder) 3 years, 3 monthsago

Lovely example. I’m Canadian and as the border is essential shut down due to the pandemic. With a winning bid would you be willing to hold onto the car till I can arrange transport or fly down myself to collect it. I am located in Toronto, Canada to be exact. Not far from NJ.
    Thank you.

@997.TWOS Please see my comment about wheels. I tagged the wrong person.

  • Cyph3r7 (registered bidder) 3 years, 3 monthsago

@Ambassador-Auto wasnt me asking about the wheels, but would you happen to have any close up photos of the drivers side fender just above the front wheel? Thanks

  • Ambassador-Auto (seller) 3 years, 3 monthsago

@997.TWOS To e specific, this is just on the inside edge of the wheel and can only be seen if you take the wheel off or look from underneath when it is on a lift from the back side.

  • Ambassador-Auto (seller) 3 years, 3 monthsago

@Cyph3r7 I have submitted the pictures to PCar, but I don't think they will get uploaded until tomorrow. There is a consistent mark on the edge all the way around the wheel. I spoke to the previous owner and he told me it happened the only time he went through a carwash with the car and it rubbed on the inner rail. It was done prior to the new tires being put on and otherwise has no issues. I will be happy to have it refinished for anyone who is the winning bidder.

@ Ambassador-Auto : Could you please provide close up pictures of the right rear inner wheel (back face) especially the outer edge of the wheel?

  • Ambassador-Auto (seller) 3 years, 3 monthsago

@Cyph3r7 I just took a look at the back seat and was able to snap the edge of the carpet back into place. It has a plastic edge that came out of a slot it clips into. I will be uploading a picture to PCar to show the correction. I hope that helps.

@Ambassador-Auto Thank you for the feedback. I’m in the process of buying my first 911 and I’m trying to acquire as much as information as I can.

  • Ambassador-Auto (seller) 3 years, 3 monthsago

@TRM54 if you are familiar with reading these reports, that is a very normal reading. The concern is the number of ignitions at speed in ranges 2 through 6, which this car has none. This represents the over rev counter and when you have 0’s in all 2 through 6 that is considered a perfect DME (over rev) report.
