Up for auction is this low-mileage 2011 987.2 Boxster Spyder finished in Guards Red over a black leather interior. This Spyder is finished in Guards Red which is said to remain in very nice condition with a few minor blemishes outlined in the photo gallery. A few key design features of this Boxster include “Porsche” livery doors, a black cloth roaster top, distinctive double-hump fairings, and a pair of light-weight aluminum doors. This example rides on a set of silver 19” Boxster Spyder wheels that wear 2018 dated Pirelli P Zero tires.

Power comes from a 3.4 L flat-six engine with an increased output of 320 HP. The rear wheels are driven by way of a desirable 6-speed manual transmission making for a 0-60 time of around 4.3 seconds. With a lower center of gravity and reduced curb weight, the Spyder is noticeably more agile than its counterparts with Car and Driver hailing it at the time as “the best-handling stock Porsche, period.” This Spyder has recently received various service items including a new battery, four-wheel alignment, gas tank lines drained/cleaned, and a fluid/filter change. A note on the maintenance: The car was fully serviced before I bought it in 2015 (per Carfax). I had the "Annual Maintenance" done on 8/12/17 when the car had 9171 miles on it and I had driven it for two years. This included an oil and filter change. Last year, I drained the tank and gas lines and changed the battery. Porsche recommends that an oil change be done every 12,000 miles, and/or some would say annually. I did not change the oil last year when the other maintenance was done because I had only driven the car occasionally. So, since the last change, I have put roughly 7,000 miles on it, and by at least the annual standard, it is due for a change. The "service now" light is on due to that. My local Porsche specialty shop (Modern Aircooled) quoted me $260 for oil change - the dealer a good bit more. Please take this into consideration when placing your bid. I have set the reserve accordingly. Again, I just want to be fully transparent. Thanks all.
@jhyldahl9441 The site administrator uploaded several pictures of the car with the top up (taken at the dealership). They are at the bottom (end) of the gallery. The top is in brand new condition as it has rarely been on the car. The car stays in its own garage when not driven. I have also included pictures of the minor blemishes. The passenger rocker panel ones (maybe a parking cone mishap) can barely be seen in the photos. The front rock chip (?) cannot even be seen unless you get within 12 inches of the bottom front chin spoiler. Thank you!

I bought the following when I bought the car:
-Dent Plan/Alloy Wheel Protection - Ding Shield Ultimate (paid $678) - covers dent removal and cosmetic repair to rims (curb rash?). Never used. Contract says I can transfer it to one new owner upon sale of car. $50 fee paid by new owner, plan expires 8/14/2021.
-Road Hazard/Wheel and Tire (paid $1,378) - covers unrepairable rims and tire (Deluxe Plan, no limit per occurrence, $5,000 lifetime benefit). Never used. Contract says I can transfer to new owner. $40 fee paid by new owner, plan expires 8/14/2020.
-The Protector Ultimate Appearance Protection (paid $699) - covers interior and exterior surfaces, tree sap, bugs, interior food stains, cracked dash, etc, etc, etc. Never used. Contract says I can transfer. $50 paid by new owner, plan expires 8/14/2022.
There is a very small rock chip on the bottom front chin spoiler. There are a couple of "smudges" on the bottom passenger side rocker panel - only paint, no dent. BARELY noticeable, none of it larger than a nickel. The warranties listed above may cover.

Also, the latest service on the car fax (May 2020) was for the "over rev" report I had done at the request of a potential buyer. No over revs in any of the 6 ranges (gears).
@jhyldahl9441 I have the two keys, all manuals, and other such material that came with the car as new. The Admin should add those pics tomorrow. As far as a spare, inflator and tools - to my knowledge the car never came with any of that. I just went down and checked, and there is no where any of that would have room to be stored. Remember that the car was designed to be stripped of all unnecessary weight. My Mustang GT convertible blew a tire recently, no spare, I had the inflator, but would not work on a split tire! Flat bed to the dealership with AAA. New tire later, all good.

Hello to all! Welcome to the auction for this garage princess Guards Red 987.2 Boxster Spyder. I am truly conflicted about selling this car. There are not a lot of these around. Truly an enthusiast's and collector's car. However, I am not able to give her the time she deserves with another drop top in the stable, and two iron horses that yearn for the Texas Hill Country.
