Up for auction is this 2011 Porsche 987.2 Cayman S finished in Speed Yellow over a black interior. Featuring revised styling and a direct fuel injected flat-six engine for the model’s mid-cycle update, this 987.2 also came optioned with a 6-speed manual transmission, the Sport Chrono Package Plus, Bose Surround Sound System, and fully automatic climate control along with details from Porsche’s Exclusive Department including seatbelts in Speed Yellow and a rear center console painted in the exterior color. Having spent its life in Arizona, Colorado, and Washington, this Cayman S was acquired by the current owner earlier in 2020 and is now being offered for auction out of New Mexico while showing just over 28,500 miles on the odometer.
This Cayman S was ordered in Speed Yellow and features removable Cayman R style Porsche stripes along the bottoms of each door. As part of the mid-cycle update, the 987.2 featured new headlights and LED taillights, larger front air intakes with incorporated daytime running lights, and a revised lower rear fascia with twin diffusers. Clear paint protection film is applied over the front end and the seller reports some paint scuffs on the underside of the front bumper and on the outer edge of the driver’s door, additional images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. This 987.2 was optioned with 18” Cayman S II wheels and colored Porsche center crests. New Michelin Pilot Sport tires are said to have been installed upon the current owner’s purchase in April of 2020.
Inside, this Cayman S features a black standard leather interior with electrically adjustable seats, seatbelts in Speed Yellow, and a rear center console painted in Speed Yellow. Other driver amenities include fully automatic climate control, PCM 2 with extended navigation, the Bose Surround Sound System, Universal Audio Interface, and a Bluetooth interface for mobile phones. A ProClip phone mount has also been added along with color-matched Coco floor mats. The seller confirms all accessories and electronics to be fully functional.
This second-generation 987 Cayman S features a direct fuel injected 3.4L flat-six engine rated at 320 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque stock. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 6-speed manual transmission providing acceleration from 0-60 MPH in under 5 seconds. An upgraded Borla exhaust system has been installed and the car came factory optioned with the Sport Chrono Package Plus which allows the driver to adjust performance settings while underway. An inspection was carried out by Exotic Motorwerks in Scottsdale prior to the current owner’s purchase and the car has since been serviced by Performance Motor Car Investments Inc. (PMCI) with a new battery, shifter cables, and oil changes. Corresponding invoices are provided for reference in the photo gallery.

@Bela There are no signs of rust. I don't have current undercarriage photos, but the ones from the inspection I had done before I purchased the car were very clean.
I do not have current photos, but I have not driven the car anywhere in snow/ice.

@Bela According to theCarFax, the car had 5 previous owners prior to myself, spent ~2.5 years in CO under owner 2, and maybe a few months in CO under owner 4. However, I have no personal knowledge of location or owners prior to owner 5 who had it for ~3 months in the Phoenix area.
The car does have cruise control and it is fully functional.

There is nothing I would call a low frequency hum or drone at highway speed. At 80mph in 6th gear on the highway with the windows up, I don't notice the exhaust sound at all, really.
@smathias …. Ummm not what I meant. Is there any annoying low frequency hum (drone) inside the car when driving at speed on the highway or instate. The Borla exhaust being the culprit perhaps

Wow... Awesome car and very rare car. Speed Yellow + 6MT + S Trim all wrapped up in a 987.2...
I've owned the clone to this car for around 5 years... SY / 6MT / 987.2CS and this is the first time I've seen another Yellow S 6MT come up for sale. I searched for mine for about 2 years prior to purchasing. For the uninformed, 987.2s are rare already since they launched Peak Recession, during Recessionary periods people tend to stick with mundane colors (black / silver / white), and in 2009 Porsche introduced the cool new Technology PDK... This resulted in very few Manual CS being produced and only a tiny tiny fraction of cars produced outside of Black/White/Silver.
If you want a Speed Yellow 987.2, you should probably pick this one as I dont have any intentions of selling mine, and it might be another 5 years before any hit the market.
@GFCicotte When I purchased the car, I bought two new bottles of sealant before driving it back to Albuquerque from the Phoenix area. Just in case. There's only room for one in the toolkit/compressor storage area. The other one fits in the large storage area in front of the battery. I just wanted to show that there are two unopened bottles included, but forgot to mention it in the notes.
Why are there two containers of flat repair in #53 and only one in #54?
@GFCicotte Sorry, I do not. The Borla exhaust was on the car when I purchased it, as was the case for the previous owner.
