Debuted at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Aston Martin Rapide is a high-performance fastback sports saloon featuring a naturally aspirated V12 engine and chassis derived from the DB9 grand touring car. This 2012 example was ordered in Toro Red over a Cream Truffle and Obsidian Black leather interior and delivered new to Marin Luxury Cars of Corte Madera, California. It was optioned with a rear entertainment system, a Bang & Olufsen audio system, mahogany veneers, a reverse camera, and parking sensors. Showing under 10k miles on the odometer, this 2012 Aston Martin Rapide is now being offered at auction by its seller out of California.
The exterior is finished in Toro Red "Q Special" paint and features swan-wing doors, hood louvers, an extruded front grille, straked fender vents, clear taillights, and dual polished exhaust tips. Optional details include red brake calipers, Titanium Silver meshes, and tail lamp fished in Magnum Silver. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. The 20” alloy wheels wear Aston Martin center caps and Pirelli P-Zero tires from 2018.
The cabin is trimmed in Cream Truffle and Obsidian Black leather accented by mahogany veneers and a Cream Truffle Alcantara headliner. Features include optional cooled front and rear seats, contrast stitching, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear air conditioning, cruise control, keyless entry, a black leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel with paddle shifters, reverse-sweeping instrumentation, a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system, a reverse camera, parking sensors, and an optional rear seat entertainment system with dual screens and wireless headsets.
The Rapide is powered by a naturally aspirated 6.0L AM11 V12 engine, which generates as much as 470 HP and 443 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven through a 7-speed Touchtronic 2 automatic transmission with magnesium alloy paddle shifters and a limited-slip differential. The Rapide can accelerate from 0-60 MPH in less than 5 seconds with a top speed of 184 MPH. Performance features include an alloy torque tube with a carbon fiber driveshaft, four-wheel independent double-wishbone suspension, Adaptive Damping System (ADS), speed-sensing power steering, and a stainless-steel exhaust with active bypass valves. An oil service and a new battery have been installed in preparation for the next owner.
