Offered exclusively to customers of Porsche’s new 918 Spyder, the Turbo S “Edition 918 Spyder” featured a unique Acid Green trim package inspired by the groundbreaking hybrid supercar and was originally slated for a limited production run of just 918 examples. Many speculate that fewer of these special editions were actually produced in total, and this 2012 example is believed one of only 43 Cabriolet versions in existence. Recently serviced and still under the Porsches 30 month CPO warranty, this highly collectible Turbo S is now being offered for auction out of Arkansas.

The Edition 918 Spyder receives a painted exterior package accented by carbon fiber trim and Acid Green lettering on the doors along with matching brake calipers, mirror bases, and rear “S” emblem. This cabriolet is finished in Black with a new convertible top, exclusive clear taillights, and factory 19” RS Spyder center-lock wheels which come wrapped in new Pirelli P Zero tires. The seller states the rear spoiler actuators have been recently replaced along with the cabriolet top. The seller notes that paint protection film has been instaleld on the front hood, mirrors and door edges. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The black leather is highlighted by deviated Acid Green stitching and seat piping as well as illuminated carbon fiber door sills, green instrument markings, and carbon fiber trim. Other details include a Sport steering wheel with a 12 o’clock marking in Acid Green, leather-edged floor mats with deviated stitching, embroidered headrest logos, and a limitation plaque mounted on the glovebox listing the car as #084/918. The car is also equipped with heated front seats, a Sport Look footrest, and a fuel tank cap in an aluminum look.

A twin-turbocharger 3.8-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 530 HP and 516 lb.-ft of torque to all four wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission. The Turbo S comes standard with Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) and the Sport Chrono Package which enables acceleration from 0-60 MPH in approximately 3 seconds. The CARFAX report shows this 997.2 was sold as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle from a Porsche dealership in September 2022 and was serviced by Jackie Cooper Imports in March 2023. A brake fluid flush was completed in preparation for sale along with new spark plugs and a belt, fluid, and filter replacement.

This sale will include a clean title and the original window sticker.

months CPO, with option to purchase an additional 12 months which I did.. I have a letter from the Dealer acknowledging this.

@TeamSled I should be home in (30) minutes and will look at this, but shouldn’t be!

  • PCarMartJM (registered bidder) 11 months, 4 weeksago

Hi - nice car - question

Can you clarify the dates on the CPO warranty and the remaining term.

Carfax shows sold 9/15/22 as CPO - what was the term and what is the end date of the CPO warranty?

    Thx

  • TeamSled (registered bidder) 11 months, 4 weeksago

The drivers side interior door panel has a lot of pit marks in it and one on the rear deck lid. Are any of those imperfections worse then pitting (i.e. a puncture or tear)?

@TurboGreen You can’t imagine what Porsche of Nashua put into this 911!!!! I have the service bill showing what they spent to get this car as new!!! As I stated early, $15,000. You want find another one like this, insured bumper to bumper at every Dealership world wide for 2-1/2 years!

  • Olered (seller) 11 months, 4 weeksago

@Olered I spoke with auction representative about shipping to Canada,. There is duties and import taxes, and sometimes require a broker? You sure could call them and find out?

  • TurboGreen 11 months, 4 weeksago

@Olered I am looking into the costs now. I’ve always had an interest in these spyder editions and just got a 997.2 4S and love the 997 series very much now.

  • Olered (seller) 11 months, 4 weeksago

  • Olered (seller) 11 months, 4 weeksago

Bidders, with just a little over (4) hours left, think on this before you let this pass! This Porsche has 2-1/2 year CPO transfers to the new owner unless he or she is a Dealer! That’s the best warranty there is! So you go buy another listed Porsche 2012 Turbo S, as is? Anyone knows you are rolling the dice, regardless of the mileage. Motor blows, transmission goes, ect; I just bought Platinum insurance on my 2016 Cayenne Turbo S, which has a $250 deductible because the engine alone if replaced cost $43,000? OEM CPO has no deductible and every Porsche dealership has a record on file of the CPO.

@phil_c Yes! They call these Silient killers!

To all you bidders! Most of you probably have or owned Porsches, and some may have several? And generally you, like I did, have done research on this Edition 918 Turbo S? For those that may not have done the research, you do have the opportunity to own a rare 911 Turbo S! ONLY around (40) of these Cabriolets were produced!! So if you can and have the funds, this Porsche can only increase in value over time. In the past two years, I’ve tracked these, and the only one that I’ve seen sell at auction sold for as much as it was bought new in 2012! The old rule of supply and demand comes to mind when it comes to this Porsche! You have it, no one has one, but they want it!!! Name your price?

  • phil_c (registered bidder) 11 months, 4 weeksago

@Olered - and it’s sooo much fun to blow the doors off all the boy racers at stoplights. Keeps the blood flowing- no need for stents🤪

  • Olered (seller) 11 months, 4 weeksago

@phil_c Exactly!!!! You definitely want have to have stints placed in the veins to your heart!!! I’ve owned (2) 911 turbo S and never did a Launch!! But I have wanted the video of the guy that did (50) straight! One right behind the other! No other muscle car can achieve that!

Thanks Bidders!!! You need this one!

Until you actually drive one of these, you’ll have no idea of how truly incredible they are. My 2011 has 110,000 miles. Still looks and drives like a 25,000 car. Incredibly reliable and exhilaratingly fast. Like the seller, I’m 72, but there’s no way in hell I’m selling mine any time soon. Way too much fun!

@SofiaLeo yes all original, except the new calam shell that was replaced due to it being warped when the top hung up when retracting. The new clam shell straight from Germany to Jackie Cooper Porsche in Tulsa, received and their body shop painted the new one! Perfect match! No body work or painting other than that! I hope this answers your question.

  • SofiaLeo (registered bidder) 12 monthsago

@Olered Any paint work to the body or is the car all original? Thank you

@mikelaca forgot to mention, the Porsche dealer furnish me a Porsche loaner for two weeks until he found out it would be (3) months getting the parts. I return their loaner and the took the 911 back and left it (2) more weeks to do the repairs. They furnish a loaner again.

  • Olered (seller) 12 monthsago

@mikelaca absolutely! The Cayenne Turbo S I bought with 41,000 dealer CPO, paid $1200, no deductible to replace a burnout motor on the radiator louvers! CPO is the best there is!

  • mikelaca (registered bidder) 12 monthsago

@Olered Just to confirm, the CPO covered all the costs with the top repair/replace? No deductible or out of pocket on that repair except gas for all the trips to and from the dealer?

@SofiaLeo , no accidents! The Porsche dealer I bought the car from had a new convertible top OEM installed, among several other things listed in the $15,000 they have gave me receipts for,. The second time I drove the car, the top malfunctioned and stopped half way in closing. One one cables on the passengers side had broke, and warped the clam shell that closes both after retracting and at closing. Jackie Cooper Porsche in Tulsa Oklahoma, rather to try and straighten that clam shell, they installed a new one straight from Germany. Their dealership is 2.5 hours from where I live. (6) trips to and from to get it fixed is where most of the miles on the Porsche came from after I purchased the car. As noted Porsche of Nashua did a paint correction to present the car as new.

  • SofiaLeo (registered bidder) 12 monthsago

@Olered Nice Turbo S! Has this car ever been in any accidents or had any type of paint work? Thank you

@1969911Ss The fact that it was produced in limited numbers! Special leather, carbon fiber mirrors, carbon fiber intakes on the rear of the car, carbon fiber heat and air conditioning vents on the dash, door thresholds, and emergency brake lever. Acid green brake calipers, acid green needles on all dash gauges and acid green strip on the steering wheel. Acid green piping on all the seats. The horsepower suspension, and transmission is the same as a regular 911 Turbo S. If you read all my opening statement, the passenger mirror was replaced by the dealership at a cost of $7,000.

I hope this answers your questions. As stated the Edition 918 911 Turbo S Spyder is a rare bird. My Question to you, is have you ever seen one in person? If so, you are lucky! This was my first! A remarkable piece of pleasure!

  • 1969911Ss (registered bidder) 12 monthsago

I have owned many 911's of many stripes, but what is different about this "Spyder" compared to a regular 997.2 turbo s? Horsepower, transmission , suspension?. I really don't see anything significant.

  • Olered (seller) 12 monthsago

@PBKING1 Thanks! I’ve heard about this and appreciate your advice!

  • PBKING1 (registered bidder) 12 monthsago

Great and rare car!! A little known fact is the removable hard top roof offered as factory option for 996 Turbo cabriolets also fits 997.1 and 997.2 Turbo/S Cabs. For reasons unknown to me the factory stopped offering this removable hard top roof as factory option for North American market cars after the 996 series ended. I purchase one used in mint condition a few years ago for my 2012 997.2 Turbo S Cab. Only additional item necessary for retrofit is an OEM ROW parts kit available at any Porsche dealer for a nominal charge. Kit includes left and right rear lock down brackets that can be easily installed plus an allen tool for convenient removal and replacement of the light weight roof. My car is black so locating matching color roof was easy. Fit is perfect, no wind noise, creaks or rattles and looks great.. Adds structural rigidity which at speed is comforting! GLWA!

  • Olered (seller) 12 monthsago

@lennon997 Thanks for the comment! I turn 72 this coming June, and have been blessed to own several Porsches, including a 2016 Cayenne Turbo S that I still drive! If I was 20 years younger, it would never leave the stable!! These are hard to find for sale!

  • lennon997 (registered bidder) 12 monthsago

@NHPorscheguy sorry about my mistake! You know how us Southern car nuts are!!!lol

Yes, the Dealership bent over backwards on my purchase. When I receive the car, wiping it down there was a small snag on the passenger side car on fiber mirror housing. I thought it was the PPF? The mirror housing was cracked. The shipping pictures taken inside the dealership showed this before the POF there was done. They footed the bill for a new one shipped to Jackie Cooper Porsche in Tulsa Ok. ($7,000) That’s a good Dealership! Good luck on your Bidding! The car absolutely looks and runs perfectly! Plus the (30) months CPO let’s whoever not have to worry if something does need fixing later down the road!

  • NHPorscheguy (registered bidder) 1 yearago

Stunning car and certainly not something you see every day (or ever). I do have one important correction for your post @Olered - Nashua is in New Hampshire, not Massachusetts. Important distinction up here! I'm surprised I never saw this one on their web site - great dealership. In any event, I will be watching this auction closely. GLWTA!

  • Olered (seller) 1 yearago

Just a few words for the ones bidding on this rare Porsche. The car was purchased by me from Nashua Porsche of Massachusetts. I do have a clear title in hand! The car had paint correction and I have receipts from the work they performed before the Porsche was sold. These receipts total over $15,000. New tires, new OEM top, new front struts for the frunk, new actuators for the rear wing, ect. The car had just a little over 21,000 miles on the odometer when I purchased it. It came with 24 months CPO, and with the purchase, I bought another 12 months, which leaves around (30) months left of the 36 months of CPO. I also had PPF installed by the dealer, on the hood, mirror housing, edge of doors. I also have an indoor silk OEM Porsche cover, two keys, the rear wind screen, and original owner's manual. I know I will be ask why am I selling? I just started a large construction project, and decided to let this one go. I won't have time to enjoy such a ride! You won't be disappointed!! I will be available to answer any questions. Thanks ahead for your bidding.
