One of the rarest versions of the Porsche 997, the Targa was offered exclusively as an all-wheel-drive model and features a unique sliding glass roof system and an opening rear hatch window. This 2012 example is a 997.2 Targa 4S powered by a 3.8-liter flat-six engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. It comes finished in rare Cream White paint over a brown Leather to Sample interior and equipped with optional soft ruffled leather 12-way power seats, extended leather upholstery, Makassar interior trim, a heated three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, a storage bin lid model logo, bi-xenon headlights with PDLS, clear taillights, Sport Chrono Package Plus, ParkAssist System (rear), and 19” Carrera S II wheels. This unique and highly equipped final-year 997.2 Targa 4S is now being offered for auction out of Florida with approximately 26k miles showing on the odometer.
Sharing its wider bodywork and rear reflector band with the Carrera 4S, the Targa is distinguished by a unique polished accent line along the upper windows, a power-operated sliding glass roof system, and an opening rear hatch window. This example is finished in Cream White and equipped with optional bi-xenon headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), clear LED taillights, auto-dimming mirrors, a speed-activated rear spoiler, rear ParkAssist sensors, quad exhaust outlets, red brake calipers, 5mm wheel spacers, and 19” Carrera S II wheels. The seller notes the exterior is in very good overall condition and the tires show production date codes from 2020.
The brown Leather to Sample interior features deviated black carpets, optional soft ruffled leather seat upholstery, leather sun visors, a leather center console, and Makassar wood trim pieces. Other options include a heated three-spoke multifunction leather steering wheel with Makassar wood trim, heated 12-way power seats, a storage compartment lid model logo, a Sport Chrono dashboard stopwatch, a Bose sound system, and Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with navigation. Other accessories include driver seat position memory, a power-retractable sunshade, automatic climate control, cruise control, a remote central locking system, and an onboard computer.
Rated at 385 HP and 310 lb.-ft of torque, the direct fuel-injected 3.8-liter flat-six engine drives all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The car is equipped with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Porsche Stability Management (PSM), an Automatic Brake Differential (ABD), fixed 4-piston brakes, cross-drilled 13” rotors, and the optional Sport Chrono Package Plus. The CARFAX report shows recommended maintenance performed in August 2024 and service in March 2023 including a coolant and differential fluid flush, replacement of the serpentine belt, drive belt(s), and battery.
This sale will include owner’s manuals and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This is one of the rarest Porsches ever made - last year of production, a true one of one, only about 80 manual Targa 4S cars were produced in total.”

@slwags10 I guess if you are owning the car to go to the golf course or look at the sky, it's for you. But for performance minded enthusiasts such as me, when I hear that a car is 300lbs heavier I can't help but imagine what a 300 lb passenger would do to the acceleration and handling of my C4S coupe. But I get your point. The only thing that matters in the end is what the owner thinks.
@BIGRICH406 The glass top driving is fabulous in any weather. The hatch for the golf clubs is just a bonus. The Targa is still less weight than the cab, and I never notice the extra weight (I've owned coupes and cabs too). This is truly a special driver's car to go along with the rarity.
The other 75 owners of these should be celebrating their value appreciation . . . and as @slwags10 said, let's bring some more up here so others can get the experience!

Class personified..
@jtsherri I was looking for the right description — “country club spec” is chef’s kiss!
simply beautiful GLWS
Beautiful 997 Targa. I love the cream white over brown. This must be one of the highest MSRP Targa 997s produced. The only slightly odd feature of the spec is 12-way seats but no seat ventilation. I wonder if it was not possible to combine leather-to-sample with vented seats? If that's the case, the adaptive sports seats are way more supportive. IMHO, the only reason to spec the comfort seats was because they were required if you wanted vented seats. My 997 GTS has the 12-ways with ventilation, and you definitely sit "on" them vs. "in" them if that makes sense.
This may be the ultimate Country Club-spec 997 and I’m here for it. 🤌🏻
GLWS.
Please post paint thickness pics. Thanks
