An ultra-lightweight open-wheel sports car produced under the license of the British Ariel Motor Company in North America by TMI Autotech, the Ariel Atom offers incredible performance with double wishbone pushrod-type suspension and an impressive power-to-weight ratio. In 2011, Virginia International Raceway began the VIR Cup racing series in which the specially designed track dedicated Spec:RaceAtom (SRA) competed up until 2015. This 2013 Ariel Atom SRA is #47 of less than 100 examples produced in total and was acquired by the seller from its original owner in 2018. It features a 2.4-liter Honda K24 engine paired with a 4-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Boasting uncompromising track-focused performance, this SRA is now being offered for auction out of Colorado.
This Atom is comprised of an exposed MIG-welded steel chassis with black and green bodywork and transparent Perspex side panels. The track-only SRA features additional structural support compared to street-legal versions including a triangulated roll bar surrounding the cockpit. The seller notes the bodywork was subject to a color change under their ownership and the car rides on a set of 15” wheels dressed in older Hoosier racing tires. A set of four spare rims is included.
The cockpit is fitted with a pair of Kirkey bucket seats and Sabelt safety harnesses as well as a three-spoke MOMO steering wheel and a fire extinguisher. The driver is situated ahead of a SPA Design instrument cluster flanked by data and rain toggle switches, a menu button, and a Wilwood brake bias adjuster. Other equipment includes a Safequip safety net, roll bar pads, a cup holder, dual side mirrors, and a camera mounted above the central air intake.
Power comes from a 2.4-liter Honda K24Z7 inline 4-cylinder engine with iVTEC variable valve timing. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 4-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. The chassis includes double unequal-length wishbone suspension with adjustable pushrod SRA-spec coilovers at the front and rear. Stopping power comes from Wilwood Dynamite brake calipers and slotted rotors at each corner. The seller states there are no outstanding maintenance items at this time.
This Ariel Atom is accompanied by a bill of sale and additional rims.

The Spec Race Atom is not approved (or intended for) road use and the original Certificate of Origin from TMI is stamped as such. The non SRA Ariels (Atom 3, Atom 4) do not have this same stamp on the C of Os.

@Louden189 Most states allow custom built cars to be made road legal, such as kit cars like the AC Cobra, DF Goblin, dune buggies, even ATVs and SXS. This car can be made DOT road legal, rules and regulations vary state to state. Emissions laws will be the biggest hurdle for most states. Other states like Kansas for example, you'll need to add DOT lighting, a horn, ensure proper ground clearance, and a parking break. Oh and possibly some exhaust work to quiet it down.

@Manos411 Hello, this is my mistake. I was out of town when the listing was approved and I swore it was a 4 speed. I just got back into town and check, and it is a 6 speed with reverse. Oops.
@AK9eleven the true milage is unknown (TMU) the odometer on the dash at some point seems to have reset. We do have documentation that the vehicle was purchased a few years ago with 1900 miles. This car has been driven mostly with another vehicle at the track that was purchased shortly after. That vehicle has been driven about 300 miles. Based on thay, I would be fairly confident this car has less than 3000 miles, but I can't prove it so TMU.
4spd or 6 spd? Description states both.
