The Gran Coupe (F06) was unveiled at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show as a four-door variant of the 6-Series grand touring car. This 2013 example comes finished in Frozen Bronze Metallic paint over a BMW Individual Composition interior with full Opal White with Amaro Brown leather upholstery, Alcantara headliner, and Fine Ash Woodgrain trim in White. It features extensive luxury amenities and was originally owned in California from 2013-2020 before moving with its next owner to Colorado up until 2023. Supported by years of BMW dealer service, this two-owner 640i Gran Coupe is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California while showing approximately 85k miles on the odometer.
The exterior features a satin Frozen Bronze Metallic finish with High-Gloss Shadowline trim, a sliding glass sunroof, adaptive LED headlights, and BMW Individual 20” Style 374 V-Spoke wheels. Compared to the standard two-door 6-Series, the Gran Coupe features extended bodywork the same length as BMW F10 5-Series and is nearly 1” taller to better accommodate passengers. Additionally, the Gran Coupe offers more trunk space than a contemporary 7-Series flagship luxury sedan. The seller notes very minimal imperfection on the front end, curb rash on the wheels, and the car rides on a set of Michelin and Dunlop tires showing production date codes 3621 and 3319 respectively.
The BMW Individual Composition interior features full Opal White with Amaro Brown leather upholstery complemented by White Fine Ash Woodgrain trim, “BMW Individual” door entrance strips, an Individual Alcantara headliner, ceramic control appliques, and a wood insert for the leather steering wheel. Other options include climate-controlled front Active Comfort Seats with lumbar support and memory, rear and side window roller blinds, Comfort Access, Park Distance Control (PDC), a reversing camera, four-zone automatic climate control, velour floor mats, Navigation System Professional, a HiFi Professional sound system, ambient interior lighting, and Expanded BMW Online Information. Some minor leather stretching is noted on the driver’s seat bolster.
This 640i is equipped with a turbocharged N55 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder engine that delivers up to 315 HP and 332 lb.-ft of torque to all four wheels by way of an 8-speed automatic transmission. The suspension includes Electronic Damper Control (EDC). The seller states that routine BMW dealer service history was carried out from the original purchase up until 2020, and an oil service was completed in April 2023. Additionally, the brakes, tires, and recommended service intervals are all said to be up to date.
This sale will include the original owner’s manuals and a clean title.

@CPRClassic Did you inspect the car to see if there was any paintwork and if the paint was all original?
@Valor1 Everything appears to be in working order to include sunroof, window regulators, power mirrors, cruise control, AC, power steering column etc. If something is not functional, we haven't managed to find it. We are essentially sure that everything works as intended from an electronics standpoint.
Paint meter readings in the areas where the meter was willing to give a reading were all in 3-4.9 mils range, never found measurements in the 5 mil + region. We also haven't seen any evidence of tape lines on the car, etc.
@CPRClassic thank you for the paint readings but would need a bit more in order to compare locations and panels. As for my initial question, is the paint all original or is there any paintwork?

Notwithstanding error codes, I wanted to know if everything was working as it should. Sunroof, window motors, cruise control, ac blowing cold, door lock operation, gauge readings, power seat functions, etc.

@Valor1 -A few paint meter readings have been added. The hood and the doors on this car are aluminum and our paint meter will not read paint thickness on aluminum.
-Tire date codes are noted in paragraph 2
-No warning lights or service lights of any kind are present. All service intervals in the iDrive system are up to date.

This is an absolute stunning car — We have the same one in the same color combo —pictures cannot do it justice. The frozen brown metallic looks beautiful in person and the opal white interior and white wood trim is amazing. On top of that, I believe it is one of the best driving BMWs out there.
