Up for auction is this 2014 Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray finished in Black over a Kalahari interior.  Custom ordered at an original cost of over $65k, this first-year C7 Corvette debuted a new LT1 V8 engine and came optioned with a 7-speed manual gearbox as well as the $8k 3LT Preferred Equipment Group which adds a host of premium features and driver amenities.  Dealer-maintained from new while remaining under the care of its original owner, this Corvette is now being offered for auction out of New York with approximately 10k miles showing on the odometer.

This Corvette is finished in Black (GBA) and is reported to have been garage-kept from new while never being driven in the rain or subjected to winter driving conditions.  Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.  Standard features of the C7 include a lightweight carbon fiber hood, advanced HID and LED lighting, a hydro-formed aluminum chassis, and lightweight fiberglass composite panels for the fenders, doors, and rear quarters.  This example features a removable single-piece transparent roof panel and rides on optional 18"/19" 5-spoke chrome aluminum wheels dressed in their original Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.

The driver is situated in a Kalahari interior with Napa leather seats and standard features including keyless entry with pushbutton start and an 8” configurable driver/infotainment screen with the Chevrolet MyLink system and a rearview camera.  The optional 3LT Preferred Equipment Group also adds a Bose 10-speaker surround-sound audio system, SiriusXM Satellite and HD radio receiver, color head-up display, memory package, navigation system, heated and ventilated seats with power lumbar and bolster adjustment, premium Napa leather upholstery, and a leather-wrapped dashboard, instrument panel, console, and door panels.  All gauges and accessories are reported to be fully functional.

This C7 Corvette was debuted with a new 6.2L LT1 V8 engine featuring direct fuel injection, Active Fuel Management, and continuously variable valve timing.  This naturally aspirated power plant generates up to 455 HP and 460 lb.-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a 7-speed Tremec TR-6070 manual transmission.  Standard performance features include a limited-slip differential, four-wheel independent suspension, and speed-sensitive variable power steering. A high-end Corsa exhaust system has been installed and the seller reports all routine maintenance to have been kept up to date by an authorized Chevrolet dealer.

This sale will include a clean title. Carefully looked after and sparingly driven, this 2014 C7 is an excellent choice for any driver in search of a modern American sports car.

I have owned many Vettes over the years and driven each generation. When people get misty about the old days, they were comparing the low horsepower Vettes of the late 70's and early 80's to the muscle era cars of the 60's and early 70's that did not stop all too well. The C7 in my opinion was the high point for Corvette. It is the fastest, best handling car that Chevy ever produced an embarrassed many other makes . As a current owner of C7 manual Grand Sport , I can say there are few cars that are quite as satisfying to drive on the track or obeying local traffic laws. I know the C8 has surpassed C7 in acceleration, but until the option a manual, I will stop counting at 7! The car here will provide a lot of entertainment for little money. Maintenance costs are nominal and when you play golf with your friends who drive any other sports car, they will ask you to take their golf bag because it wont fit in their car!! GLWTA

dgpnaples, appreciate your time, comments and thoughts.
    I began with ( about ) every sports car you can think of, on a carpenter's budget, and eventually found Porsche's. (1972, 1978 and 1983 Targa's )
Then a 2005 Carrera S ( a whole different kind of Porsche, like you are enjoying I would suggest )
What do you think of this year model Corvette
    Enjoy your awesome Porsche !!

@sportscarguy3 : I have owned 4 Corvettes prior to switching to Porsche Carrera 911S. I liked the earlier Corvettes 90, 91, 99 and the 2005. The Corvette body has grown over the years, similar to Porsche 911 increase in size. The Corvette is not as nimble as a Porsche 911 and is more of a muscle car genre especially with the manual gearbox, which is the only way to go if your buying a Vette, in my opinion. I just sold my 99 Hardtop Vette six speed with 120,000 miles. The 2005 Vette I traded in on my 2008 Porsche 911S six speed. If I ever add another Vette to my garage it will be 2008-2013 six speed.

    Very sharp looking Corvette
As a sports car guy and eventually a Porsche guy, I have always wondered about driving and owning one of these American muscle Corvettes.
Any thoughts out there from other Porsche people

Apologies - I was referring to the roof panel (not the rod panel,,)

  • MFStapler (registered bidder) 2 years, 9 monthsago

Seller - really a beautiful car! Can you please explain how the removable rod panels functions? Can one person remove, store and return the panel? How heavy is the panel? How would you rate your experience with this set-up which (obviously) is new to me? My thanks!
