Now available for auction is this 2014 Porsche 981 Boxster S finished in Sapphire Blue Metallic over a black interior. At an original sticker price of over $83k, this Boxster S was ordered with a 7-speed PDK transmission, 20” Carrera S wheels, Sport Suspension, the Sport Chrono Package, Premium Package, and Infotainment Package with Bose Surround Sound System. It has also been upgraded with an IPD intake plenum and 82mm throttle body as well as many custom carbon fiber pieces including a rear spoiler, diffuser, canards, front grilles, and interior trim. Acquired by the second and current owner as a Porsche Certified Pre-Owned vehicle in 2018, this 981 has been dealer maintained throughout its life and is now being offered for auction out of Texas with just over 30k miles showing on the odometer.
This Boxster S comes finished in Sapphire Blue Metallic with an optional supplemental safety bar painted in the exterior color along with Exclusive black-painted wheels. A TechArt chin spoiler has been installed along with an aftermarket carbon fiber rear spoiler and matching rear diffuser, side air intakes, front grilles, and canards. Some minor touch-ups are noted on the front bumper resulting from road-going wear, additional images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. This 981 rides on optional 20” Carrera S wheels with custom red stripes and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires dated from 2017.
Inside, you will find a black interior with an Alcantara SportDesign steering wheel along with 14-way Power Sport Seats with memory, heating, and ventilation. Other optional features include Bi-Xenon headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), the Sport Chrono Package, Infotainment Package with the Bose Surround Sound System, and the Premium Package. Custom details include a blue 12-o'clock steering wheel marking, carbon fiber shift paddle extensions, a Porsche crested storage compartment lid, carbon fiber trim pieces, carbon fiber door sills with colored Boxster S logos, and Sapphire Blue Metallic painted instrument bezels. A custom cell phone holder has been added and a backup camera has been integrated which displays onto the central PCM screen when in reverse. The original carpet and rubber Porsche mats are said to be included along with a set of custom Martini-themed Lloyds mats.
This 981 Boxster S is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.4L flat-six engine rated at 315 HP and 266 lb.-ft of torque stock. Power is directed to the rear wheels through a rapid shifting 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission. This example has been upgraded with an IPD intake plenum and 82mm throttle body as well as a vacuum-actuated sport exhaust system, although the wiring and switch for the exhaust valve have not yet been installed. Factory optional performance features include the Sport Chrono Package, Power Steering Plus, and Sport Suspension (X73) which provides a lowered stance and firmer ride using different shocks, springs, and sway bars. As shown on CARFAX, all scheduled maintenance has been carried out by authorized Porsche dealers including a major 7-year 40k-mile recommended service. Some service invoices are provided for reference in the photo gallery.
This sale will include a collection of records, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, a 1st place award from a PCA concours in 2018, and a clean title (lien). Nicely optioned and modified, this Boxster S awaits its next owner.

@cerb1958 On the cosmetic issues question, I did mention in earlier comment and in description some minor road chips on front bumper. Normal road wear nothing large.

@cerb1958 Thanks for the question. No accidents. no repairs. All maintenance done regularly at Porsche dealer in Plano, TX. since new. not tears on roof or any fabric / leather inside car. No electrical issues either. I did mention there was a prior issue with PCM but this was replaced with a new PCM under warranty at dealer

I don't see any specific mention anywhere...to the best of your knowledge, there are absolutely no mechanical or electrical problems, and absolutely no prior repairs or accidents? Is that all correct? Any tears or damage at all to the roof fabric? any cosmetic problems that you are aware of not mentioned in the description?

@sjc61 hello and thanks for the feedback. The red stripes on the wheels are Rimblade protective rimsavers. As for the OEM sport exhaust it was purchased new from Suncoast Porsche and installed by me. I have worked on automobiles all my life and work in the auto industry. I did not connect the wiring as the switch needs to be programmed by a Porsche dealer and I intended to have them do it for me. Between work and travel I just haven’t gotten around to it. I did have a Fabspeed exhaust installed previously but found it to be too loud. Thx PSE is just right for my taste and I kept the Fabspeed “X” pipe and o further reduce back pressure and I liked the carbon fiber in tips with the other carbon upgrades I had made. I have not installed any after market buttons on center console. Buttons and the surrounding trim were replaced by dealer when PCM was replaced as they had damaged some of the clips. I did install the the iPhone device just below the switches. This permits the use of an iPhone as a music database and is integrated to PCM and Bose sound system.
Hi Mike, nicely upgraded 981 Boxster. A couple of questions/suggestions... The Sport Exhaust you report as an OEM unit, yet you haven't directly answered the question about factory installation. The code is not on the build sheet or COA? Also the exhaust tips pictured indicate FABSPEED. Of course it is possible to install FABSPEED "tips" only, but this just adds to the confusion for potential buyers on the exhaust questions. I would recommend providing much greater clarity to these questions to lift buyer confidence. Additionally, I noticed the last two shifter console buttons (below Sport Exhaust button) do not appear to be OEM? Is the picture unclear or were the original buttons removed and replaced with non-OEM buttons? Many of the PORSCHE fans on this site are well educated on these cars and will quickly spot anything out of the ordinary. Good practice to get in front of these potential questions with thorough explanations to build trust in seller transparency. Finally, is the red stripe on the wheels hand painted or tape? Its a nice touch with the red calipers, but in one close up it looks like it may be tape? Thanks. GLWTS!
@Unsavedone no there is a lien with bank. Buyer can split payment and pay bank directly to ensure free and clear title upon sale.
@SAABO not for sure but would assume that it is as it is the standard OEM option. It is not very loud, nothing like other after market exhaust systems which are not legal in many states.
Why does the clean title have (Lein) after it. It the title clear and in hand?

@SAABO it is OEM part but I preferred the more robust sound. I intended to have dealer program the switch but never got around to it.
I don't understand the sport exhaust. Was it factory-installed, dealer installed? Why wouldn't the installing party complete the installation? Is it legal in CA? (I would think that if it was OEM, it would be but otherwise maybe not?
@9under63 yes it is the OEM sport exhaust and is currently in the open position. Vaccuum lines already installed. Just need a dealer to run wire to switch and then program switch with dealer computer. Don’t know cost specifically but would estimate 2 hrs labor.
