This 2015 Porsche 991 GT3 comes finished in Paint to Sample Birch Green over a standard Black leather and Alcantara interior. It was also ordered with no sunroof, an extended range fuel tank, Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes (PCCB), a front axle lifter, the Sound Package Plus, a SportDesign steering wheel, lightweight carbon fiber full bucket seats, black Porsche Dynamic Lighting System (PDLS) bi-xenon headlights, a leather-trimmed center console, paint-matched headlight cleaners, and a Porsche-crested Alcantara storage compartment. It has been modified with a Sharkwerks center exhaust muffler, Tarrett drop links, toe rods, and camber plates, an RSS roll bar, and Schroth racing harnesses. Said to have been regularly serviced and covered in full-body paint protection film, this Paint to Sample Birch Green 991 GT3 is now being offered at auction by the seller based out of Utah showing just over 13,420 miles and remains under the coverage of its 10-year Porsche extended powertrain warranty.

This 991 was ordered in the eye-catching Paint to Sample non-metallic color of Birch Green (253) that has received the application of paint protection film to the entire body. Equipment includes bi-xenon PDLS headlights in black, Porsche side graphics, black rocker panel protectors, yellow PCCB brake calipers with black Porsche script, paint-matching headlight washers, LED tail lights, black badging, a front recovery ring, an ornamental Porsche crest on the hood, and black spoiler end caps. The seller reports this vehicle has participated in autocross events and DE events in southern California, and the paint protection film shows signs of small rock chips on the front bumper, side skirts, and rear quarter panels. In addition, the front splitter has 2 small cracks, the underside of the bumper is cracked where it intersects with the front splitter, and the driver’s door and right rear quarter panel have two very minor dings. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. The center-locking gray-finished 20” factory wheels are mounted with new Yokohama Advan Apex V601 tires.

The interior is appointed with Black leather and Alcantara upholstery accented with deviated Platinum Grey stitching, and showcases the carbon fiber-backed full bucket seats. Other options include a SportDesign steering wheel, the Sound Package Plus, the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with navigation, the Smoking Package, automatically dimming mirrors, a leather-trimmed center console, a Porsche-crested Alcantara storage compartment lid, and the omission of a sunroof. A Rennline fire extinguisher and mount have been added, as well as a black RSS roll bar with Schroth racing harnesses for driver and passenger that are said to be valid through 2022.  The seller notes all features and accessories are in working order, but reports that the PCM has rebooted continuously in the past due to an over-the-air Sirius satellite radio update and was rectified by Porsche of Salt Lake City by a reset, and it currently operates with no issues.

The naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six engine revs up to 9k-RPM and features titanium connecting rods, forged pistons, direct fuel injection, and a dry-sump oiling system.  As much as 475 HP and 324 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission, which allows for acceleration from 0-60 MPH in 3.2 seconds with a top speed of almost 200 MPH. Performance features include rear-wheel steering, Porsche Stability Management, and Porsche Traction Management. This 991 GT3 has been modified with a Sharkwerks center muffler, Tarrett drop links, toe rods, and camber plates for more flexibility in alignment. The original suspension parts are said to accompany the sale. The seller reports that the oil was changed regularly every 1500 miles, racing brake fluid was used, and the front brake pads have about 20% life remaining. The CARFAX report shows all recommended maintenance and an inspection were completed at Porsche Salt Lake City in June of 2022. The seller also notes the 10k service light is illuminated, though a recent service was just performed and the light was not reset.

This sale will include 2 keys, owner’s manuals, service documents, and the original suspension components.

This is $180k less than a 992, and much better looking with much less plastic on it. The nose on this is 10x sexier than the one piece plastic nose of the 992.

Let’s go folks! I’ve got the popcorn out! A very low mileage PTS GT3 - this is unicorn territory without paying nosebleed prices for a 992!

Love this PTS color. As the owner of a 991.1 PTS GT3 myself, I have to say that not only does it get a ton of attention, but it’s an insane drive and a great value! GLWS!

@Tcockerham I will take a few close-up photos of the areas impacted on the PPF. As we detailed the car, we found that in spots where PPF was nicked, it creates a little flap of film that allows dust and dirt to get under the film in those little pick marks. It appears that the PPF did its job very well in terms of protecting the underlying paint. Also, the stone guards were applied on top of the PPF for extra protection. Last, my wife and I applied our own product, called Protect ‘N Peel, to the paint on all occasions when doing a track day. To see more on this, we sold the company to Road Warrior Plus. It’s a great product to add temporary paint protection in an inconspicuous, removable way.

Can anyone comment on what we think it’ll cost to repair the front bumper? Can it be repaired or does it have to be replaced?

@Seller, can you comment on the condition of the paint on the car, especially throughout the lower rockers, and quarter panels? In several of the pics it is hard to determine whether the chips represent damage to ppf, decals, or all the way to the paint.

@ClarkD1 The engine is original and has only had one service light for code 0023 for a cam oil sprayer. Porsche Salt Lake fixed under warranty 6/16/2022. That is the only error code we’ve had under our ownership. The car needs nothing mechanical. The 10-year warranty is a Porsche Factory warranty for the power train, which I believe was offered for 2014 and 2015 GT3’s. My non-expert understanding is that 2014 models experienced more issues than 2015 - this car is 2015. For consumables, the tires have 1 mile on them, as my wife drove the car in the attached video. The front pads will be first to need replacement depending on driving style, but otherwise the car is ready for a road trip.

Was this part of the engine replacement program for the gt3's? If so, was it replaced? You had stated it had an extended powertrain warranty. Is that a Porsche factory extended warranty? Does the car need anything other than cosmetic items?
    Thank you.

@JimHawkins I just uploaded multiple videos to the pCAR portal. It's overcast, but bright, so the videos turned out fairly well.

  • Boxster142 (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@JimHawkins Agreed! The stock wheels were never put on a track. For a track day, we had a set of 19" custom-built HRE wheels in "Safety Orange," which are being sold separately, running Hoosier R7 in a front size of 265/35/19 and rear of 325/30/19. For street use, the stock wheels are quite understated, IMO, for a car of this vibrant color, but if someone wants to purchase bright orange 19" wheels and put street tires on them, the car looks like Green Goblin from Spiderman.

It is a great color and definitely deserves to get back on the track and enjoy its life. I am not in the market to trade up from my current Cayman S race car, but if I were, this is definitely one I would be looking at very closely. Roll cage and some track tires and this would put a very big smile on my face!

I promised to film videos of a walk-around, cold-start and driving, but we have had severe thunderstorms the past 2 days, relentlessly, so hopefully tomorrow will clear up.

  • Boxster142 (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@ClarkD1 Hi again. Car passed CA smog after installation of Sharkwerks center-muffler exhaust. No engine mods exist. It has NOT been chipped, as we learned from past experience on a GT4 that a flash-tune voids the factory warranty. Lesson learned...

  • Boxster142 (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

Thanks for the clarifying questions. The brake pads were replaced separately front vs. rear, but not at the same time, so there are more frequent brake-pad changes overall. The fronts tended to wear about 3:1 faster than rears. We have had the car serviced at multiple shops in CA and now in Utah due to a move in 2021, so there were lots of eyeballs inspecting the car at regular intervals. The car was also stored for most of 2021 in my father's garage in Las Vegas, so the car was serviced once at Trophy Performance in Henderson. The most recent brake-pad replacements are as follows: FRONT pads and sensors replaced on 8/13/2020 by European Motorsports in CA. REAR pads and sensors replaced 12/02/21 by Trophy Motorsports in NV. Also, 0W40 synthetic oil was changed 12/2/21 as was the serpentine belt tensioner. As a prophylactic measure, I had the PDK oil changed 8/13/2021 at Porsche Salt Lake City. I have all the service records available. Please feel free to ask more. Our general philosophy has been to replace consumables early and often.

  • ClarkD1 (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

Will the car still pass CA smog?

  • ClarkD1 (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

Why were the brakes replaced every three thousand miles? Seems very odd. Was the car tracked the whole time by all owners?

  • driving_impaired 1 year, 8 monthsago

ooo this color is not for everyone but I LOVE IT... kicking myself that I just picked up a 2015 GTS. GLWA!

  • Boxster142 (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

Hi, everyone. Thanks for reviewing our car. I’m happy to answer any questions and will be posting a couple videos of a walk-around, cold start and of the “Goblin” driving.
