This 2015 Porsche 991 Targa 4S comes finished in Black over a matching leather interior and is equipped with a 7-speed manual transmission connected to a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six. The car was sold new from Porsche of Downtown Los Angeles at an original sticker price of over $137k including a Sports Exhaust System, Sport Chrono Package, SportDesign mirrors, a SportDesign steering wheel, black-painted wheels, additional leather trim, and other desirable features. It was acquired by the seller on PCARMARKET in September of 2022 and was purchased as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle with a fresh 20k-mile service performed at Porsche Bellevue in Washington. Accompanied by the remainder of a CPO warranty, this Targa is now being offered for auction out of Texas while showing approximately 21,500 miles on the odometer.

This 4S is finished in Black with a matching roof panel, a silver Targa band, optional SportDesign mirrors, Bi-Xenon headlights in black, and factory black-painted 20” Carrera S wheels with 5mm spacers. The CARFAX shows damage reported in 2015 which is said to have been a minor incident that required refinishing the rear bumper. The seller notes paint protection film was applied over the front end, mirrors, windscreen frame, and rear quarters during their ownership along with an OEM 3rd radiator kit and Rennline protective grilles which were professionally installed by Porsche Austin. The car rides on Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires dated from 2017 in front and 2019 in the rear.

Inside, this Targa features black leather upholstery with an optional SportDesign steering wheel and extended center console trim in leather. Other options include a luggage net in the passenger footwell, ParkAssist (front and rear) with reversing camera, BOSE Audio Package, Memory Package, and Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS). The seller has added an OEM Porsche-crested center console lid in leather along with a SmarTop controller which enables the operation of the Targa roof via the remote key fob. An OEM aluminum-look fuel filler cap is included as well.

Up to 400 HP is sent to all four wheels by way of a 7-speed manual transmission paired with a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six engine. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH takes place in approximately 4.5 seconds with a top speed of over 180 MPH. This example features the optional Sport Chrono Package and Sport Exhaust System, and the CARFAX report details a lifetime of Porsche dealership maintenance. The seller notes a 20k-mile service was completed upon their purchase in 2022 and CPO warranty coverage remains in effect until 9/13/2024.

This sale will include a clean title (lien).

The seller would like you to know: “I am a PCA member and a longtime Porsche, Ferrari, and Aston owner (and maybe a Ducati or two). This car is great.  I bought it for my 61st birthday last year.... but my allocation for a new car has come in at the dealer so I must sell this one (or get divorced). The Sport exhaust is amazing, especially with rev-matching in Sport/Sport+ modes. I love the silver Targa bar (I had a 1975 Targa back in the day).  AWD "sticks like peanut butter on the roof of your mouth" as the old ads used to say (even with these tires).  Full leather makes it a classy place to be inside. It's just a great car that checks off so many boxes: a normally aspirated, manual transmission, all-wheel-drive, 400HP, Sport-Chrono Targa with CPO warranty until September 2024. I have included dealer quotes to add more warranty beyond the CPO if someone wants. Feel free to ask any questions.

-Thanks and happy bidding.  -Mark in Austin (aka fossilfuel).”

@590HP Hi @590HP, it's raining in Austin today and I just had the car detailed in advance of the auction/sale.... if it dries up, I will try to make a recording or video.

That said, I would say -- with the top up-- the car is pretty close to coupe interior sound levels. I don't hear any top buffeting or flapping---the targa top fits very snugly and has nice interior liner.

I just did a quick Google search --- Car & Driver, Jan 29, 2015 said in a road test of a 2014 Targa 4s: "With the top in place, the Targa acts much like the coupe. There’s no additional wind noise and the sound-level meter registers 71 decibels at 70 mph—actually quieter than the aforementioned 4S coupe."

I seem to recall similar comments in other reviews. Ie close to coupe sound levels with the top up. Many also mention that a 911 in general is loud-ish car in any form--- part of the charm-- that distinct exhaust and engine noise.

    Hope this helps. -mark (fossilfuel)

Hi, I live in Austin and would be interested in meeting to see your car in person if possible. I didn't see a "Contact Seller" option so posting the comment. Thanks.

@AirVes Thanks. All I can say is that the car looks better and is better protected than when I bought it. And it looked good enough then (after I flew to Washington state to see it in person) for me to buy it for north of $125k.

  • AirVes 11 months, 3 weeksago

@fossilfuel Thanks for the detail - wish they would have touched up.

  • fossilfuel (seller) 11 months, 3 weeksago

@AirVes I just spoke with the owner of BeSpoke Paint Protection (https://www.bespokepp.com) to be able to give an accurate answer: on my car, they did a 'de-contamination wash', then full clay bar then alcohol wipe before the PPF was applied. He reminded me that no amount of "correction" will replace paint that has been chipped. That requires touch up or some other application of paint.

I hope that answers the question. The photos I sent the auction site are pretty high resolution. The car looks like it looks in the pictures (ie great :-) I and the car are in Austin if anyone want to see it in person. Thanks, -mark

  • AirVes 11 months, 3 weeksago

@fossilfuel - The PPF was applied over the chips/dings with no correction?

    @356rehab Hi @356rehab,
On the paint, I am a bad judge, but I will try. I would call the paint 6 to 7 conservatively. It looks great for an 8 year old car with 20+k miles. There are some stone chips on the nose and hood that were covered with the Suntek PPF. BeSpoke paint protection (best in austin in my opinion) used gloss black Suntek ppf on the hood. It looks exactly like the PPF on other parts of the car and the black paint in general. There is one stone chip hickey on the hood right below the Porsche crest. I will add a zoomed in close ups of before and after the ppf. It's still there under the PPF but I prefer original paint to a touch-up. Overall, the paint is very presentable and shiny with nothing that would jump out and annoy a picky owner :-) I hope this helps.

  • 356rehab (registered bidder) 11 months, 3 weeksago

@fossilfuel can you please rate the paint 1-10 and are there any nicks, dings, scratches or road rash in the paint?
    Thx in advance
