Based on heavy-duty Ford pickups, the Terradyne Gurkha is a tactical all-wheel-drive armored vehicle with applications for civilian drivers, off-road hobbyists, private security, and various government agencies. This 2015 example is a Gurkha Rapid Patrol Vehicle (RPV) intended for critical infrastructure protection, law enforcement, military, and border patrol. It is based on a Ford F-450 Super Duty and features a 6.7-liter Power Stroke turbodiesel V8, a dual-range transfer case, locking front hubs, a front winch, searchlights, 20” beadlock wheels, a roof hatch, night-vision camera, a public address system, and armor plating with NIJ level II ballistics protection. Showing approximately 10k miles, this Gurkha RPV is now being offered for auction out of Florida.
The bodywork is finished in matte black and incorporates NIJ II-rated armor plating, which offers protection against 9mm and .357 magnum ammunition. Features include external sentry grab handles, front and rear LED light bars, JW Speaker LED headlights with rock guards, remote Golight LED searchlights, a swiveling night vision camera, a Warn 16.5ti front winch, a roof hatch, an onboard air compressor, side steps, dual exhaust outlets, a receiver hitch, and front mud flaps. The truck rides on 20” Hutchinson beadlock wheels with 335/80 Continental MPT 81 all-terrain run-flat tires and a matching rear-mounted spare.
The armored and insulated cabin includes a pair of power-adjustable front seats in black leather with matching carpets, a Ford F-Series dashboard, and a four-spoke multifunction steering wheel. The rear compartment is lined with textured rubber flooring and features a bench seat, diamond plating, and a fold-out table. Other accessories include air conditioning, a PA intercom, an onboard ECU tuner, a Pioneer touchscreen infotainment system, and a custom center console with cup holders and accessories switches.
A 6.7-liter Ford turbodiesel V8 delivers up to 440 HP and 860 lb.-ft of torque through a 6-speed automatic transmission with a dual-range transfer case, a locking front differential, and a limited-slip rear differential. The seller indicates an oil change was recently performed.
