Designed for outstanding track-focused performance, the Porsche 991 GT3 RS serves as a bridge between Porsche's racing machines and street-legal sports cars. Launched at the Geneva Motor Show in 2015, the RS version of the 991 GT3 sports wide vented fenders, a large rear wing, and a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine sending up to 500 HP to the rear wheels. This 2016 Porsche 991 GT3 RS comes finished in Ultraviolet over a Black and GT Silver leather & Alcantara interior. It features Custom Tailoring, the Front Axle Lift System, Bi-Xenon headlights in Black, an extended-range fuel tank, and more. This one-owner GT3 RS is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Virginia with just under 400 miles on the odometer.

This 991 was ordered in Ultraviolet, a striking nonmetallic shade that debuted for the new GT3 RS in 2016. Compared with a standard 991 GT3, the RS version features, a lightweight magnesium roof panel, a larger rear wing, and wider fenders with louvered front vents and Turbo-style side air intakes. Optional details include Bi-Xenon headlights in Black with Porsche Dynamic Lighting System (PDLS), painted headlight cleaning system covers, the Front Axle Lift System, and 20”/21” GT3 RS wheels painted in Silver. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The driver-focused cabin presents Black leather and Alcantara upholstery accented by GT Silver deviated stitching and carbon fiber trim. Standard equipment includes full bucket seats, door-sill guards with model insignias, Bluetooth connectivity, and cruise control.

This GT3 RS is equipped with a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine that revs up to 9k-RPM and sends as much as 500 HP to the rear wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH is achieved in as little as 3 seconds with a top speed of nearly 200 MPH. Standard performance features include rear-axle steering, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus), and a sport exhaust system with center tailpipes in black. The CARFAX report shows a total of 8 service history entries dating back to the initial delivery.

This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, a window sticker, a toolkit, and a car cover.

The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for visiting my auction. I have owned this GT3RS since new and it has been stored in a climate-controlled garage with my other cars. The car is as new as one can be with 390 miles on it.”

This seems like the top of the market these days. Plenty of great examples (albeit with slightly higher miles) selling for less than $200K.

Ultraviolet was only offered with black or silver wheels. We wanted the platinum silver and the only way to achieve this was doing a CXX option / special wishes. So the custom tailoring charge was the wheels., however we had to select silver on the initial build to then get the CXX approved by Porsche.

I’ve seen this one. This owner is “the guy” you’d always wish to buy a car from. Being “particular” doesn’t do justice to the way he operates and his garage is to die for. When I saw the indoor enclosed wash bay I knew he was a bona fide car guy.

Question on wheel color, I’ve owned two gt3 cars one with silver wheels the other with platinum silver, two different colors. You car looks like platinum silver wheels. Did you change the wheels out?
Your sticker says you ordered silver wheels.
    Thank you

Yes it has film on the front bumper, hood, front fenders, a-pillars, mirrors, full roof, side sills, & rear fenders. It was described as the "track pack" with full roof. Headlight not done as Porsche headlights are not fond of PPF.

@R_R8T3D Correct on the oil change. Car has been started and brought to operating temperature every 4 to 6 weeks. We use Sunoco racing fuel for stored vehicles and, for what it's worth, garage Temps are maintained at 72 degrees, 55% humidity year-round thus eliminating the opportunity for condensation.

  • R_R8T3D (registered bidder) 9 months, 1 weekago

Was the last oil change in 2021? Just guessing based on the Carfax.

  • carsortium (seller) 9 months, 1 weekago

@Revemup1 it is cool how Porsche builds cars that have different driving & shifting characteristics and have different personalities as they add power or refine changes. I appreciate your input, it’s always great to hear from Porsche owners.

  • Revemup1 (registered bidder) 9 months, 1 weekago

I personally have a 2016 RS and a 2019 RS. In driving both cars, I find that the 2016 has slightly snappier throttle response than the 2019 even though with a little extra horsepower you would think the 2019 would have the edge. I don't know if it is the PDK mapping that at is causing the difference or what it is, but just my opinion as I think the 2016 is a little more involving to drive .

  • eshaile (registered bidder) 9 months, 2 weeksago

    Stunning car!

  • carsortium (seller) 9 months, 2 weeksago

    Thank you.

  • eshaile (registered bidder) 9 months, 2 weeksago

@carsortium - Thanks for the clarification. That is good information to have. Good luck with the auction!

  • carsortium (seller) 9 months, 2 weeksago

@eshaile Not correct, Porsche realized they had an issue with the 3.8l and they corrected the issue so when the 4.0l was produced a year and a half later they would not have the same issues. Research shows that when these engines are maintained properly they are essentially bullet proof.

  • Beandip83 (registered bidder) 9 months, 2 weeksago

Thanks for the clarification. I was wrongly assuming they used the same engine between the rs and non rs cars. So .1 gt3 had valve issue but the 4.0l engines in the .1 rs didn’t have that issue.

  • 19-kilo 9 months, 2 weeksago

@Beandip83 not the same 4.0 as in the .2. The 991.1 RS came with a bored version of the 3.8L that resulted in 4.0L. Hence the lower redline on the 991.1 RS cars compared to .1 GT3. The 991.2 GT3 and RS came with a completely new 4.0L design not related to the 991.1

  • carsortium (seller) 9 months, 2 weeksago

Great question, however that was on the GT3's with the 3.8 that Porsche did the extended warranties on the engines, not on the GT3RS's with the 4.0

  • tony_raposo2020 (registered bidder) 9 months, 2 weeksago

Can you provide any insight on the engine warranty. I understand Porsche extended the warranty on the 2014-2016 GT3 and RS engines due to the issues with the early cars. Thanks.

  • carsortium (seller) 9 months, 2 weeksago

The 2016 GT3RS did in fact come standard with the 4.0l motor. Please review the window sticker and let me know if you have any additional question. The GT3RS does have clear marker lights but also has the original amber one that came with the car. Otherwise the car is all stock.

  • carakia (registered bidder) 9 months, 2 weeksago

@Beandip83 The .1 RS came with the 4.0 engines.

  • Beandip83 (registered bidder) 9 months, 2 weeksago

This looks to be a 991.1 which came with 3.8l engines…description says 4.0l, which came in the .2 cars. Has the engine been replaced in this one?

@jcbarrios2003 Thats correct, thats how I wanted it. I don't track my cars so no need and l like smooth dash in the 991 vs 997 it was a cool feature to have.

  • jcbarrios2003 (registered bidder) 9 months, 2 weeksago

    Beautiful car!! No Chrono package?

  • carsortium (seller) 9 months, 2 weeksago
