Introduced in 2015, the original GT4 stands as Porsche's high-performance iteration of the 981 Cayman. It boasts enhancements such as a reinforced chassis, lowered ride height, GT3 brakes, an additional radiator, a limited-slip differential, Porsche Torque Vectoring, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), a 6-speed manual transmission, and a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six engine. This 2016 example has been modified for track use by Quirt Racing, a Porsche race preparation facility based in Texas, and has previously participated in SCCA GT-X Class regional racing competitions. It sports a distinctive vinyl race livery with a grey camouflage pattern complemented by yellow and red accents and has been optimized for motorsport with features like a racing seat for the driver, six-point harnesses, a full roll cage, an OMP detachable steering wheel, carbon fiber panels, Hoosier R7 racing tires, and more. Showing under 15k miles on the odometer, this GT4 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Texas.
This track-oriented GT4 is wrapped in a grey camouflage pattern with yellow and red accents, concealing its original Rhodium Silver Metallic finish. It comes equipped with Bi-Xenon headlamps in Black featuring the Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), along with wing supports also in Black. It rides on black-finished aftermarket wheels wrapped in used Hoosier R7 DOT-R racing tires. Additionally, the sale includes two extra sets of wheels. The seller notes that beneath the wrap, the paint is well-maintained and remains in good condition. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing moderate damage to the front end in June 2020.
The interior has been stripped and prepared for motorsport, featuring a racing seat for the driver, a six-point harness, a full roll cage, an OMP detachable steering wheel, and carbon fiber panels. The cabin retains its original Sport Chrono stopwatch dial embedded in the leather dashboard. Additionally, a Garmin Catalyst Data Coach paired with an AiM Solo 2 DL with Smarty Camera has been added to the car along with a fire safety system. The illuminated tire and airbag warning lights are illuminated due to the car's modified setup.
A naturally aspirated 3.8L flat-six engine derived from the 991 Carrera S sends as much as 385 HP and 310 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission with a limited-slip differential, Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV), and active transmission mounts. Notable modifications comprise an Auto Blip downshift feature, adjustable MCS shocks, a competition exhaust system, and upgraded hubs, rotors, and brake pads for all four corners.
This sale will include two sets of wheels and a bill of sale.
The seller would like you to know: “Bid with confidence! This car is owned by a fine gentleman racer whose garage you could eat off the floor… The car is in excellent condition, and has fresh Hubs, Rotors and Brake pads all the way around. Who ever gets this incredible well built Porsche GT4 is going to at the front of the pack!”

@ludwig980 I just posted three more photos the owner found of pre build GT4 and while cage was built.
@ludwig980 correct, currently NOT road legal.
@ludwig980 I’m working on your first question on DME report.
This car has a Texas salvage title but it’s is a race car that will come with bill of sale. You could make the car pass state inspection and request a rebuilt title if you wanted.
@ludwig980 sorry sir, I do not have a DME report on the car.
Additional content has been added to the gallery for this listing.
Also, am I correct in saying that currently the car is still "salvage" and not a "rebuilt" title?
If this is the case, the car is not road legal - correct?
Do you have a DME report for the car?

@Takeittwothelimit Thank you for the clarity
@Ddesimone17 I’m sorry I may have used wrong verbiage when describing the repairs. The car was hit almost dead center in the nose… the parts replaced were Hood, front fender, nose bumper cover, and from a donor they cut the trunk area out IN FRONT of shock towers… when they chose this car, they made sure that the shock towers were within tolerance to factory specifications. And yes the car has been corner balanced.
I’ve ask the owner to try to finds some photos of the repairs, no luck yet.
One more question looking at picture 73
As far as I can tell
The Strut tower s are silver and tub frame is white
Do you have any details or pictures of where they spliced in new tub , in front of or behind the strut towers
And has the car been corner balanced
Bid in the amount of $10,000
Yes the car comes with SCCA Logbook, the owner never got his license with PCA so it was never raced in PCA. To my knowledge, it still retains the factory ABS and it hasn’t been modified or turned off. The motor is a stock GT4 unit, with no modifications. The belts expired in 2023 and it does have a second set of wheels.
Does the car have a log book
was it raced w pca? If so what class
Does it still retain ABS if so has it been modified
Any engine upgrades plenum / gt3 throttle body ?
Harness n seat dates
Does it come any spares , ie wheels ?
@karona it has one but it’s branded Texas title and there are no interior parts left for the car. It has a custom built full roll cage in the car.
Is there a title, or could you get one for this GT4?
I represent the car for one of my clients and was informed that this a car had been hit in the front and was repaired with the front clip from another Cayman and built into the race.
Salvage title with two front end events. Might want to provide more information on damage and repair.
Good morning everyone,
Please bid with confidence, this GT4 has been pamped by its owner and has been serviced with new Hubs, Rotors and Brake Pads in preparation for the sale of the car.
