A successor to Honda’s groundbreaking mid-engine sports car of the 1990s, the second-generation NSX was produced between 2016 and 2021 at the Honda Performance Manufacturing Center (PMC) in Marysville, Ohio. Marketed under the Acura brand in North America, the second-generation NSX is based around a lightweight spaceframe paired with a hybrid electric V6 twin-turbo powertrain making over 570 HP. This 2017 example comes finished in Valencia Red over Ebony leather and is generously equipped with optional carbon ceramic brakes, a carbon fiber roof, Carbon Fiber Interior Sport Package, ELS Studio Audio Package, and more. Acquired by its seller from an authorized Acura dealer, this NSX is now being offered for auction out of New York showing under 7k miles on the odometer.

The second-generation NSX features “Jewel Eye” LED headlights inspired by those of the original NSX along with LED illuminated taillights, automatic pop-out door handles, a capless fuel filler, and a transparent engine cover. This example is finished in Valencia Red with black brake calipers, an optional carbon fiber roof, and Exclusive Interwoven wheels with a polished finish. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The Ebony leather interior is accented by the optional Carbon Fiber Interior Sport Package and includes optional semi-aniline full leather power sport seats, a black Alcantara headliner, and the ELS Studio Audio and Technology Packages. Standard amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, push-button ignition, auto-dimming rearview mirror, and rear parking camera.

This NSX is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 DOHC engine paired with a triple electric motor Sport Hybrid SH-AWD system and a 9-speed dual-clutch transmission. With a combined output of 573 HP, the NSX can accelerate from 0-60 MPH in as little as 2.9 seconds with an electronically governed top speed of 191 MPH. This example is equipped with optional carbon ceramic brakes and is said to have undergone all routine service as recommended.

This sale will include the original owner’s manuals, a car cover, and a clean title.

The NSX is an often overlooked car - it came at a time many great new super/hyper cars were introduced and it got lost in the shuffle - that did not mean it does not have outstanding credentials and is an amazing car - Car people appreciate all brands and the significance of this NSX to the Acura/Honda brand. Need a better understanding - watch the attached!

    link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DcHHRyeX-M0

I have a friend who owns an Acura dealership - we both ordered these when they came out, he got a total allocation of 7 cars - the first two were ours - mine he re-sold shortly after it arrived at $50k over stick, cars 3-also at $50k over sticker and 4-5 at $25k & $35k over (all were ordered) as the market softened and the final two came to dealership not ordered and sold at MSRP.

Great car, great color and forthright Seller with information - GLWS - beautiful example!

@carreraman I won't be able to answer your question fully before the auction closes. Basic maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, filter changes etc has been done.
The car has not needed anything else done.

  • carreraman (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

@bmassand would you be kind enough to clarify “service station” and other than oil change what maintenance was done.
Also did you happen to purchase an extended warranty by any chance ?

  • XHILLR8 (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

What a gorgeous car... that would look stunning parked next to my 992 C2S in the garage. Wish I had the room. Seller, GLWTA... of this SOULFUL high-tech Japanese supercar!

  • LloydChristmas (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

Can't comment on the new one as I have not driven one but anyone who's driven the original would never describe it as lacking soul and bet @artichoke is giving an opinion without ever having driven one. This is a gorgeous car and would love to have this one in my garage but timing is not right yet.
Funny experience with Porsche guys and the NSX. Back around 2000 got an invite to instruct at a PCA HPDE with my 9 year old NSX. After the first instructor session it was about a 50% split of guys coming over and checking out the car, sitting in it etc. and having some great conversations with many who had never really been around an NSX and the other 50% who were not happy I was there. There were a few who would refuse to point me by. One had the nerve to confront me in the pits claiming I ran him off the track. When he found out I had video taped the session and would be happy to show him how he refused to let me by for several laps and slid into the weeds all on his own he stomped off. Others spread rumors of highly modified engine, suspension etc. but car was 100% stock except for a set of Koni's. I was a bit stunned at the reaction.
The guy running the event found it all rather humorous and invited me back anytime. Met a lot of great people at PCA but the instructor divide seemed to remain at about 50%. PCA members warned me that there are a lot of good people and a lot of big egos at these events and my experience certainly reflected that.

  • bmassand (seller) 1 year, 2 monthsago

@tonitone90 As you know the car has only been driven 6800 miles.
Nothing other than oil changes and regular maintenance has been done.
The service station keeps all the records.
Nothing major has been needed or done.

  • tonitone90 (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

@bmassand thank you. Regarding the services. Do you have documentation to share. Also was a recent inspection or service done on the major components (batterys, powertrain, etc)

  • bmassand (seller) 1 year, 2 monthsago

@tonitone90 The mark is surface level.
The dent is not golf ball size.
I became aware of it from the photos myself. There is a little dimple on the hood, probably from something falling on the car while driving.

    You make a good point.

  • alland (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

To the Seller: The very best of luck with this auction on a magnificent automobile. As an owner (past and present) of at least 17 different brands of cars and motorcycles, it amuses me when owners mistake their own brand loyalty for a universal truth that applies to all owners and all cars everywhere. It's simple: love what you drive, be happy, spend your money however you want to spend it, change cars weekly or never, share the road and have fun.

  • Tmort (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

As an owner of a first generation NSX for 18 years, sold 7 years ago for an Alfa 4C spider, I can tell you Acura builds a spectacular and well engineered car. This new generation of NSX is a fine continuation of the breed, I find this one particularly attractive, that color on this car is stunning! Tempting!!

@artichoke Do recall, Honda makes F1 engines. Not bad.

  • artichoke (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

@bmassand Don't think I'm opining negatively about the car. I could actually say the same thing abut my 997 C4S. I also have a 96 993 C4 Cab. The 997 is faster, handles better, stops better, has so many more creature comfort's and accessories, but the 993 has "SOUL" and IMHO, is much more fun to drive!!!

  • tonitone90 (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

@bmassand Thank you this is helpful.

  • bmassand (seller) 1 year, 2 monthsago

@artichoke Its a free world and you should be able to opine.
Why opine negatively on a car you don't intend to bid on?
Why not let the seller get his bids without your negative comments?
Just wondering what is the point? There are so many wonderful vehicles out there.
Perhaps for the future, you would be a little considerate of the time and effort put in by the seller.

  • bmassand (seller) 1 year, 2 monthsago

@tonitone90 I purchased the car from a dealer upstate because I only wanted this color. The car was dealer owned . Not sure how it works but Acura was giving some monies to the dealers to own the car, the dealers were willing to part with some of that incentive as the car technically as sold.
In terms of being the only owner, technically the answer would be no because the car was actually owned by the dealer. Hope it helps.

Regarding being able to see the car, I personally don't have an issue with it but really you would have to at least tell me what you are bidding. I do have a reserve. Simply because I want to sell the car, not because I have to sell the car. Also would have to check the policy with the auction site.

And to the Porsche lover, I am not selling this to buy a Porsche and like someone stated, there are many wonderful cars out there.

  • tonitone90 (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

Question to the seller, ownership history states two owners? In the description says it was purchased CPO from an Acura dealer? Just want to understand a little more there.

  • Restaurantman (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

    I usually don’t comment but…
I don’t know how anyone can state a 911t is overpriced at 116k? Thats a more than fair price in today’s economy. My wife’s new RR was a steal at 118k, ton of car for the money. You can’t buy much today for under 90k! I’m going ro have to pay 112k for my f-150 order!
This recent inflationary period was long overdue.

  • tonitone90 (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

@artichoke lol have you been in new BMW's? These cars have 10X the soul. Also Porsche is going way upmarket with their pricing (116K for a 911T anyone), and on top of that good luck convincing the dealer sell you one as opposed to one of their more well heeled clientele.

  • artichoke (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

@BoxsterSx2 I stand by my statement that these hi-tech Japanese cars have no soul. Just well made appliances!

  • BoxsterSx2 1 year, 2 monthsago

@artichoke I totally agree that calling a Porsche an overpriced Volkswagen is inappropriate. That was my point.
I was hoping you would see the hypocrisy of your statement, but I guess not. After all I am just a rookie Porsche owner for only 51 years.

  • artichoke (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

@BoxsterSx2 This is primarily a Porsche site. Been a Porsche owner and driver for 53 years. It’s only ignorance that calls a Porsche an overpriced VW. I’m sure the technology in the NSX is outstanding, but I find these cars have no soul! Of course, YMMV!!!

  • BoxsterSx2 1 year, 2 monthsago

    @artichoke
Porsches are great cars. I have owned several and still have a couple of them. I also owned a 2017 NSX and it was also a great car, a technological masterpiece of engineering prowess. Your snarky comment would apply even more to the next used Porsche that goes for a half million. "Yikes a half million for a used Volkswagen".
