At the 2014 North American International Auto Show, the M4 debuted as the new high-performance M-vehicle to supersede the venerable M3 Coupe. This 2017 M4 Convertible comes finished in Mineral Grey Metallic over Cohiba Brown Extended Merino leather upholstery and pairs a 7-speed M Dual-Clutch (DCT) automatic transmission with its 444-horsepower twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six. Additional features include optional M carbon ceramic brakes, a Harman Kardon Surround Sound System, Park Distance Control, Surround View, Driving Assistance Plus, Apple CarPlay, a heated steering wheel, neck warmers, and much more. Showing less than 63k miles on the odometer, this M4 Convertible is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Georgia.
This example is finished in Mineral Grey Metallic with a matching power-retractable hardtop. The M4 can be distinguished from a standard 4-Series by its revised front and rear bumpers, aerodynamic mirrors, M4-badged fender vents, trunk lid spoiler, and quad exhaust tips. Optional gold-finished M carbon ceramic brake calipers can be seen behind the 19” BMW Style 437 light-alloy wheels. The seller adds that the vehicle has been washed regularly, and a ceramic coating has been applied. A few minor imperfections are noted, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin presents Cohiba Brown Extended Merino leather upholstery. The heated front sport seats feature 10-way power adjustability, 4-way lumbar support, and seatbelts with M tri-color stitching. Amenities include a Harman Kardon Surround Sound System, a leather-wrapped multi-function heated steering wheel, front seat neck warmers, dual-zone automatic climate control, Comfort Access keyless entry, and heated and power-adjustable exterior mirrors. Additional features include a head-up display, Park Distance Control with a rearview camera, Surround View, Driving Assistance Plus, Apple CarPlay, knee airbag, and cruise control with brake function. Minor signs of wear are noted on the driver’s seat, along with a few minor scuffs. All gauges and accessories are confirmed to be in proper working order. A front dash cam has also been fitted.
Power comes from a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged S55 inline-six engine generating as much as 425 HP and 406 lb.-ft of torque stock to the rear wheels through a 7-speed M Dual-Clutch (DCT) automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. Standard performance features include an Active M limited-slip differential, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), front & rear anti-roll bars, stainless steel exhaust pipes, and robust M-carbon ceramic brakes. The CARFAX report shows a total of 12 service history entries, and the seller states they have recently changed the spark plugs. No sustaining maintenance items have been reported.

@CutterMcGee I checked the rear Merino leather headrests, they look part of the sporty look, so no levers found like in a typical car. I even tried to see with the back seat pulled down, I could find a catch but I did not. However, I read that they can be pulled out from some Bimmer forums. I think I don’t have the strength to pull them out (I am a woman) 😅.

@mineralfarmer No, this M4 hasn’t seen the track. Too precious for me to bring it; I was invited to 😎. Carbon Ceramic Brakes (CCB) are a lot more fun! I am spoiled now. Driving other cars including the latest bimmers without the CCB are 🥱.
@Sporty_M thank you for the excellent detailed explanation, which is 100% consistent with what I just read on BMWs web pages. They would be perfect for track use. Speaking of which, has the car seen track use? We briefly (1 year) had an M4 convertible, but it had the conventional brakes.
@mineralfarmer The carbon ceramic brake is highly responsive in comparison to stock or regular brake (iron). See the last video, second part, on how quickly the car stopped upon braking; it reacts the same with high speed. It can withstand much higher temperature (no worries if you decide to bring it to a track), consistent stopping power, braking effectiveness, lighter, less brake dust, and impressive in brake performance.
This means the new owner knows on a dry day the carbon ceramic brake may squeak when braking; it’s considered normal for those who understand the car has carbon ceramic brakes. And to be patient to the different pedal feel when the brake is cold. The new owner to tap the brake pedal gently in wet condition to allow the brakes to adjust to the wet road condition and give more allowance in stopping distance. Since these brakes are highly responsive, you don’t have to tap repeatedly on the brake pedal, tap and hold like in a regular car; you judge the correct distance, tap the brake pedal, press down, and the car brakes. It is like commanding an intelligent dog to respond to the cue and the dog responds immediately.
And with the gold calipers, braking performance is at another high level. Just have to learn the new habit driving this Bimmer with the carbon ceramic brakes. It is easy to learn and adapt. And a lot of fun once you adapt to this brake system. Driving gets elevated.

@skier1 1. No lien on the car. 2. Yes, someone stole it from the car dealer lot (Earth MotorCars) but it was recovered very quickly by Dallas cops. Cos it was such a great-looking car! It happened just 2-3 days before I saw the baby and purchased it. 3. Yes, it has day time running lights.
