Up for auction is this highly-optioned 2017 Porsche 991.2 Carrera S Coupe. Originally ordered in Guards Red, this unique example highlights a full-exterior 3M Gloss Storm Grey (Chalk) protective film wrap that was installed at 3k-miles. Featuring flawless paint, exclusive options, and a 7-speed manual transmission, this Carrera S represents one of the more desirable examples on the market. Purchased new from Harper Porsche in Knoxville, TN, this example is now being offered in exceptional condition with 15k miles on the odometer by its seller in Florida.
Upon purchasing the vehicle, the seller decided to wrap the entire exterior in 3M Gloss Storm Grey protective film, which emulates Porsche’s exclusive Chalk color. The wrapping includes the door jams and exterior of the rear trunk lid so no red is visible – even when the rear spoiler is deployed. Because of this installation, the Guards Red finish is said to remain in like-new condition. Additionally, this example is equipped with the highly desirable front-axle lift system making for a scratch-free front-end. This Carrera S rides on 20” GT4 wheels that are accompanied by a set of upgraded H&R Sport springs which greatly enhance this vehicle's stance and performance. @RacingPorsche it’s very easy to remove, any wrap shop can remove it, I was quoted $300 to remove.

How difficult is it to remove the wrap if down the road you wanted to bring back the original color? Is this a huge undertaking? Will the original paint be damaged in the process? What would the removal cost...?

@CCseeking no you can’t see red through light, they really wrap all panels and go over and around edges as well. Even though I didn’t wrap the inside of the front trunk, they even wrapped around the top edge a few inches so you can’t see any red while you’re sitting in the cockpit on the underside of the trunk. 3M is definitely as premium as wrap gets, there are other manufacturers that just don’t hold up the same way in varying weather. With that said, 3M Gloss Storm Grey is readily available at just about every reputable wrap shop in the nation, replacing a panel is a quick job, for me this was a great alternative as I didn’t want to paint the car and destroy its value, but I didn’t want a guards red 911, and this one just had all the options I could ever want along with 3 pedals.

Can you tell in any light conditions that this is white over red (a la white pants over red undies?)
Also, will rock-chips show as red specks?
