Now available for auction is this 2017 Porsche 991.2 Targa 4S finished in Jet Black Metallic over a two-tone Black and Luxor Beige leather interior. At an original sticker price of over $149k, this second-generation 991 Targa 4S showcases an impressive list of options including the Sport Exhaust System, Sport Chrono Package, 20” Carrera Classic wheels, BOSE Surround Sound system, Power Sport Seats with crested headrests, and more. This 4S was purchased new in 2016 from Flemington Porsche of New Jersey and later moved with its owner to Texas in 2017. It has received an application of clear paint protection film as well as an integrated radar detector system. Previously listed on PCARMARKET and with approximately 24k miles on the odometer, Targa 4S is being offered for auction out of Texas covered by the remainder of an extended warranty.

This Targa comes finished in Jet Black Metallic with a black roof panel, silver Targa band, and wraparound glass rear window.  The car is said to have always been garage-kept while preserved under a layer of clear paint protection film over the front end, additional images can be found in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. This example came factory optioned with LED headlights, power-folding exterior mirrors, and 20" Carrera Classic wheels with colored Porsche center crests and Pirelli P Zero tires. The original tires remain mounted in front while the rears were replaced earlier in 2022.

Inside, the driver is greeted by a two-tone Black and Luxor Beige leather interior featuring a pair of 14-way Power Sport Seats with memory settings and exclusive Porsche crested headrests. Additional equipment includes Lane Change Assist (LCA), a heated multifunction steering wheel, the BOSE Surround Sound System, and Premium Package Plus which adds Porsche Entry & Drive, auto-dimming mirrors, the Light Design Package, and heated/ventilated front seats.  An integrated radar detector system has been installed with an LED display in the rearview mirror, a control switch mounted in the center console, and a small speaker hidden in the driver-side footwell.

This second-generation 991 Targa is powered by a 3.0L twin-turbocharged flat-six engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission sending up to 420 HP and 368 lb.-ft of torque to all four wheels.  Equipped with the optional Sport Chrono Package, this 4S can accelerate from 0-60 MPH in as little as 4 seconds with a top speed of nearly 190 MPH.  The optional Sport Exhaust System is also equipped along with Power Steering Plus.  The seller has had all annual services carried out by authorized Porsche dealers throughout their ownership as well as repairs to the cooling system under warranty. An extended warranty may be transferred to the next owner and remains in effect until April 2024.

This sale will include a set of two keys and a clean title.

@TobinMotorWorks thank you for your comment. It really is a great car.

I flew down to Houston with a client back in August to pick up the CPO 2017 Targa 4S I found for him, drove it back to his home in Indiana, a great trip. Paid almost $145,000 (without tax, title, etc.) and that car had 45k miles on its ODO. Stickered for like $155k new.

Not sure I've seen a car hold its value in terms of total % of MSRP, except just about any Toyota pick-up truck.

Targas aren't cheap, but they're sure as hell cool! GLWTA!

@smagloff Sorry for the addl comment but no addl paint work done. Car has been garage stores it’s whole life.

  • smagloff (seller) 1 year, 3 monthsago

@Spyder34 I can assure you all the services were done as scheduled. I have most of the records but they are all available through the dealerships. They were done in Flemington NJ and then San Antonio Tx. The PPF on front end was done when I purchased the car in 2016. The paint is black metallic and has no dents or dings.

  • Spyder34 (registered bidder) 1 year, 3 monthsago

Since the Carfax doesn't show any service after 9/17, can you post up the service invoices for the annual services mentioned? When was the PPF installed? Can you add color on the condition of the car (hard to see everything in the photos)- any dings, dents, scratches? Any paint work done? Any undercarriage photos? Thanks.

Please excuse my lack of knowledge on the Targa:

Question: is the rear window hydraulically powered, or 100% electrically operated ?

  • smagloff (seller) 1 year, 4 monthsago

@wmendel Quite honestly I don’t recall as it was five years ago or so. I remember it happening and just a bum battery after a winter. Cooling system just needed some parts replaced at the dealer.

  • wmendel (registered bidder) 1 year, 4 monthsago

    Beautiful car.
Can you tell why the car needed a new battery and cooling fix at just 6 months? Thank you.

As a current owner of a GTS with PDK and a previous owner of 9 911’s, several with manual a std auto or two and several PDK’s (including a 991 GT3)I’d certainly take the stance that there are NO 911’s that are soulless. And sad that you felt you had to add that comment here.

Hello PCARMarket community. I am selling this car because I have a new Turbo S on it's way from the factory. It has been a two year process. This Targa is an excellent car. I live in Texas and with the weather hot most of the year, I don't get to enjoy the Targa roof as much as I'd like. It has been garage stored it's whole life and fully maintained all the way. Happy to answer any questions.

  • smagloff (seller) 1 year, 4 monthsago

Thanks for taking the time to look at the car. I know people have different opinions about PDK. It does have the manual mode where you can change gears using the paddles on the steering wheel or the shifter, but I suspect you are aware of that... thanks again.

  • Kigiin 1 year, 4 monthsago

Nice car, glws but those pdk cars are soulless.
