Available for auction is this 2018 Mercedes-Benz R172 SLC 43 AMG finished in Black (040) over a Black/Anthracite Nappa Leather interior. Succeeding the SLK as Mercedes’ compact two-seater roadster, the SLC model debuted for the 2016 model year with a top-trim AMG version featuring a twin-turbocharged V6 engine, Sport Suspension, an AMG limited-slip differential, carbon fiber trim, and more. This 2018 example was sold new in California where it is now being offered for auction showing just over 22k miles on the odometer.
This SLC comes finished in Black (040) and features a power-retractable hardtop with a panoramic glass panel. Other equipment includes Dynamic LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights, auto-dimming and power-folding side mirrors, the AMG Night Package, the AMG styling package, and 18” 10-spoke AMG wheels dressed in a set of Sumitomo HTR Z5 tires from 2021. The seller notes small scratches present on the underside of the front bumper, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is trimmed in Black/Anthracite Nappa leather with contrasting grey stitching and AMG carbon fiber inlays. Amenities include heated front seats, a Harman Kardon sound system, a flat-bottom sport steering wheel, a power wind deflector, AMG illuminated door sills, and an IWC Ingenieur analog clock mounted on the dashboard.
The twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 produces up to 362 HP and 384 lb.-ft of torque, driving the rear wheels by way of a 9-speed automatic transmission with an AMG limited-slip differential. The AMG Ride Control Sport Suspension uses sensors to constantly monitor driving conditions and provide the precise amount of damping needed at each wheel. The CARFAX report includes 6 maintenance history records dating back to 2017, and the seller notes a standard routine service was completed in January of 2022.

Thank you to those viewing and bidding. The SLC is a unique car. Most are familiar with the SLK55 of previous generations as a great compact roadster packing a large motor with lots of horsepower. With the growing trend of smaller motors, turbo chargers, and seeking better gas mileage with comparable performance, the SLC was a great success in my opinion. You will never feel like you "need" more power. I purchased the car personally for myself and my wife as a personal-use car. I love the size, the ability to turn off traction control and play around a bit, and the quietness of the hardtop when trying to make calls when driving. My wife loves the looks and simplicity of the car while still having all the modern necessities. We have taken this on a 400 mile trip down the CA coast, and it was more than comfortable enough, we averaged almost 30 mpg, and when asked, the SLC in sport + was a focused, loud, angry little beast. It is really a great car for the family, everyone can drive and enjoy.
