Up for auction is this 2018 Porsche 991.2 GT3 Touring finished in the coveted Paint to Sample color of Slate Grey over a Custom Tailored black leather interior with special Houndstooth cloth seat inserts.  Perhaps the most desirable 991 of all, the GT3 Touring is sought after for its understated styling and standard 6-speed GT Sport manual transmission.  In addition to its $12,830 Paint to Sample Color and $11,360 worth of Custom Tailoring options, this particular example was generously optioned from the factory with the Front Axle Lift System, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), extended leather upholstery, and carbon-fiber trim. Purchased by the current owner from a Porsche dealership in 2019 at just over 300 miles, this GT3 Touring commanded an original sticker price of over $204k and is now being offered for auction out of Kansas while showing approximately 3,800 miles on the odometer.

This example was custom ordered in the nonmetallic Paint to Sample color of Slate Grey, a beloved and highly sought-after classic Porsche shade that gained fame after an appearance on the 911S in the opening scene of Steve McQueen's 1971 film, "Le Mans".  Xpel clear paint protection film has also been professionally applied over the full exterior along with ceramic coating at a cost of over $8,500, detailed images are provided in the photo gallery.  In comparison with the standard GT3, the Touring model features a rear wing delete which provides a more understated look.  Unique details on this example include Custom Tailoring Porsche logo side graphics, factory LED headlights in black, and center-lock 20" GT3 wheels in a Platinum Satin finish.   The optional Front Axle Lift System also enables the nose of the car to be raised and lowered for extra clearance. A supplemental 5-year wheel and tire protection plan was purchased on 6/5/2019 and is transferable to the next owner.

Inside, you will find a beautifully appointed black leather interior with specially ordered black and silver Houndstooth cloth seat inserts.  Other Custom Tailoring options include black leather seat bolsters and piping, a 911R carbon fiber shifter, seatbelt outlet trims in Alcantara, the Door Panel Trim Package in Leather, and illuminated/personalized door sill guards in carbon fiber.  A detailed list of factory options is provided below:

This second-generation 991 GT3 is equipped with a naturally aspirated 4.0L flat-six engine that sends up to 500 HP to the rear wheels through a mandated 6-speed GT Sport manual transmission.  0-60 MPH is achieved in as little as 3.9 seconds with a top speed of nearly 200 MPH.  This example has also been optioned with Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) for superior stopping power.  All routine maintenance has been kept up to date with a recent service carried out in 2021 by a Porsche dealer including a brake fluid flush as well as oil and filter changes.

This sale will include a set of two keys, owner's manuals, tools, the original window sticker, a car cover, and a clean title.  Remaining one of the most sought-after vehicles on the road, the GT3 Touring has become a true collector's item.  Do not miss your chance to own this especially desirable PTS Slate Grey example with Custom Tailoring.

@localmotion411 thank you for your bids, wow, several times, I thought you were the winner. Best of luck to finding your touring.

  • napkin.com 3 years, 1 monthago

@localmotion411 I hope you can nab one of these.
I bought mine two weeks ago --- I was fortunate to find one with delivery miles (57). Wowzer. I jumped on it.

    I LOVE the car.
9K rpm, 500HP, NA engine, the car makes all the right sounds, super easy shifting 6 spd manual, killer looks. It's perfect. Nothing like it for the money.

Happy to answer any questions as a new GT3T owner.
It's my first ever Porsche and now I'm obsessed with the driving experience AND the quality of the car overall.
Doors shut solid and echo in the garage -- car feels so well built and it is made to drive hard, often.

Congrats to the winner! You'll love it!

    No, not for sale.
Buy the next one that pops up here! :D

    @suitcase Great to hear!

  • suitcase (registered bidder) 3 years, 1 monthago

@noahkl I've owned many Porsches since 1980, including R, 959 GT3's, RS, etc. The cars I've loved the most are the cars I've driven the most. You can't put a value on driving experience, life experience and memories.

  • Andy993 (seller) 3 years, 1 monthago

Thank you PCARMARKET for helping me through this process.

Not a 911R. But a fantastic PTS car in one of the best colors. You'd be hard pressed to find another. And the 992 may have exceptional performance but it's more I-phone and big. And whoever get it, just keep it and drive it.

Great car I was the first owner!!

  • localmotion411 (registered bidder) 3 years, 1 monthago

In some of the pics it looks like there is damage to the painted/PPF'd portion of the lower front lip. Is this the case? Are there a substantial amount of dings in the PPF from rocks or is it pretty clean?

  • Andy993 (seller) 3 years, 1 monthago

Less than 1 hour to go. Thanks to all the bidders for your interest. Good luck to all and with some remorse, I look forward to helping deliver this beautiful GT3 Touring to the winning bidder!

  • JonL. 3 years, 1 monthago

@ilikecarstoomuch That's exactly my thought. I have basically this exact same car. Same color, same side script, but with buckets, except mine has 9000 miles :)

And honestly, at the values they're bringing, I think about selling from time to time, but there is nothing out there that I would consider replacing it with for the same or similar money. So, I'm keeping it!

Regardless of whoever wins, as an owner of the twin sister of this vehicle I can tell you that there is no value you can place on having fun and enjoying what is a spectacularly beautiful car. This car should not be treated as an investment in monetary value but fun value....

  • ilikecarstoomuch (registered bidder) 3 years, 1 monthago

WOW - what do you replace this with?

  • Andy993 (seller) 3 years, 1 monthago

  • Andy993 (seller) 3 years, 1 monthago

@18GT3T Thanks for you wonderful comments about my Touring, acknowledging the photos and for your insight into the markets. Whoever buys this car, assuming it sells, will get a beautiful new ride. I don't think I'll be putting any proceeds into GameStop .........maybe Dogecoin!! Enjoyed your post!

  • 18GT3T 3 years, 1 monthago

Wow! Aggressive bidding with almost 3 days to go!
However, this is a beauty and it’s well deserved. Love the photography, some of best pics of a GT3T I’ve seen. Amazing car!
As an owner of a Agate 18 GT3T with LWB’s, I’m trying to understand why the sudden jump in prices…. It’s a great car, has been for almost 3 years so what just happened? Did everyone just wake up to these last month? Did Elon tweet something cryptic?
On a side note, high spec GT3T European cars can be had at dealers around $175k, more than 10 for sale at dealers in Germany last week. Have our European brethren not caught on to these as yet? They're usually first movers on this type of stuff......
My fear is the fall that usually follows the speculative purchases that drive these types of price increases, especially with the number of cars starting to come on the market in the last 3-4 weeks. Gamestop anyone?
I personally have no plans on selling even though my sales guy at Porsche calls me every couple of weeks with a better offer. They're just toooooooo good.

@seller GLWTS though I doubt you will need luck, faultless beauty and timing is everything!
@pcarmarket kudos for bringing us some amazing P-Cars

    @Andy993 was told the same.

  • Andy993 (seller) 3 years, 1 monthago

@F1tifosi Good for you! With either seat, they are beautiful cars and fun to drive. I was told there are only 4 Slate Grey Tourings, but I don’t know if that’s accurate.

  • F1tifosi (registered bidder) 3 years, 1 monthago

Own the twin sister Slate Grey PTS with LWB's and love the car, color, and seats. 18 ways are also awesome. First world problem, 18 ways vs. LWB's.

  • lamakdaddy (registered bidder) 3 years, 1 monthago

I made the mistake of getting lwb seats in my GT3T. Drover it for 100kms and hated the weird sloping down driving position. My wife hated them even more.

Wish I’d kept it and sourced a spare set of regular seats...hindsight..

  • Andy993 (seller) 3 years, 1 monthago

    @sfarrens Thanks for you comments!

  • sfarrens 3 years, 1 monthago

I really like the spec on this car. When I was searching for my GT3T, Carbon buckets were a must. After owning them and climbing in and out of them, I can see the appeal of the the 18-ways. Especially this set, decorated in the silver/black pepita. The car has some 50th anniversary car flair to it. That's a good thing.
This is a beautiful and collectible car. Add in a seller with great communication and people skills, and this should bring good money. Good work so far, seller. I'm rooting for you!

  • sdrgt3rs (registered bidder) 3 years, 1 monthago

@Andy993 Thanks for your prompt response and clarification. Much appreciated.

  • Andy993 (seller) 3 years, 1 monthago

@sdrgt3rs I just looked at the car and I see no marks of any kind in the area you questioned. I believe the white areas you see must be sun light reflections. I tried to take a photo in different light, even in my garage, but I’m unable to keep reflections out the the photo, including my own. If you remain concerned and are considering purchasing the car, I want you to be comfortable. Let me know and I will will try to find a shady spot to try again.

  • sdrgt3rs (registered bidder) 3 years, 1 monthago

Hi Andy, could you elaborate on the white looking spots to the right/above the Porsche badge on the hood. They show up in pic #49. Are these water spots, or marks in the PPF or marks under the PPF? Thank you.

  • F1tifosi (registered bidder) 3 years, 1 monthago

    @Andy993 thanks much

  • Andy993 (seller) 3 years, 1 monthago

@F1tifosi the DME report was done Tuesday AM. I have not received the report yet. I called again yesterday to inquire why it’s delayed. Supposedly I will get it today. I’ve been told verbally all is good but I will post it ASAP.

  • F1tifosi (registered bidder) 3 years, 1 monthago

Do you have a DME report? Interested but any educated buyer will want an over-rev report regardless of whether or not it has been tracked. Beautiful car and great build.

  • Andy993 (seller) 3 years, 1 monthago

@Ohiolion Thanks for your nice comments re my Touring. Although I didn’t spec this car, I agree with you that the seats in this car are perfect. I respect that others within the Porsche community hold a different opinion.

  • Andy993 (seller) 3 years, 1 monthago

@Orangevespa Of course, I would welcome an inspection. Let me know if you want to arrange something. There are a couple of local possibilities I could recommend, but you may be more comfortable finding a shop. I will do my best to accommodate your request.

  • Andy993 (seller) 3 years, 1 monthago

@Orangevespa Fortunately it’s only in the film. I have had a company that uses Xpel and I was told it would be an easy fix for $350. However, it is believed this nick occurred during the driving video posted within the car’s presentation, which of course couldn’t be repaired in time before the listing went live. This is why there is a separate photo showing the nick. I will be happy to answer more questions or provide more photos, if necessary , but there is no damage to the paint. I can, of course, have it repaired before shipping to buyer, if that is desired, mindful of the 3 or 4 week delay.

  • Orangevespa (registered bidder) 3 years, 1 monthago

Also are you open to local PPI?

  • Orangevespa (registered bidder) 3 years, 1 monthago

Is that nick on front bumper above splitter just in ppf or down to paint?

  • Ohiolion (registered bidder) 3 years, 1 monthago

beautiful car! great spec. for those who are knocking the car for not having LWB's, let me tell you, I have LWB's in my GT3T and although the look awesome, they are a PITA to get in and out of for day to day running around. they are like falling backwards into a bathtub. and if you are on the bigger side, they aren't the comfortable. I kinda wished I had gotten mine with comfort seats.

  • Andy993 (seller) 3 years, 1 monthago

I bought a 2016 Sapphire Blue Metallic GTS through PCARMarket in January. My 1st time experience buying from auction. If you have never bought from here, have no fear. PCARMarket is one awesome auction company. That said, this is one bad-ass and beautifully optioned MANUAL GT3 Touring. Good luck bidding! I expect pricing on this one to set a record.

  • Andy993 (seller) 3 years, 1 monthago

    tsong72. Thanks for your bid

  • Andy993 (seller) 3 years, 1 monthago

@FPD The previous owner obviously had this installed. It's a fundraiser, I think. It lights up at night and it's cool looking. I'll try to post a photo of it at night, if it comes out. Someone else may know more than me, but here is a link that may help: https://www.smokiesgt.org/

  • Andy993 (seller) 3 years, 1 monthago

@chong0 Thanks for your comment - it's gorgeous in person, too. When I look at the pics and read the narrative in the PCARMARKET Presentation, I ask myself, "now why an I selling this car"?!! LOL

  • Andy993 (seller) 3 years, 1 monthago

@TomC re selling, first it's not due to my wife - I hope I will get some points here! This is my first "new" Porsche. I wanted to try it and it's been a wonderful experience and I was lucky to have found the perfect car. However, I have a '63 356B and a '95 C4S as well as a '92 Ferrari 348 and I've found that my love is older cars. I'll have other cars to still drive for fun!!

Welcome to my beautiful car! I hope you enjoy the photographs posted here, where I have tried to show every detail that will help you make an informed decision. Although I didn't spec this GT3 Touring, it punched on the buttons for me when I saw it at a Porsche dealership in Connecticut. It not only looks great, but the PTS and Houndstooth seats make this car very special. Of course, it's obviously fun to drive! Watch the walk-around and driving video and you will imagine yourself in the drivers seat! Although I have tried to anticipate the information and questions you might have and I have posted details in the photo gallery, I welcome questions and comments. I intend to stay engaged throughout the week. Good luck to all bidders!
