The first 4-door car to be designed from the ground up by Mercedes-AMG, the X290 GT 63 S features an advanced aluminum chassis based on the E63S wagon with styling inspired by the AMG GT Coupe. Some exterior details include Active LED High-Performance headlamps, a multistage active rear spoiler, an aggressive rear diffuser with chrome AMG exhaust tips, red-painted brake calipers with black AMG lettering, and chrome trim around the windows, door handles, and fender vents. This AMG GT 63 S is powered by a 4.0L M177 Biturbo V8.  The engine has been upgraded with Pure 900 hybrid turbochargers, Ultimate Performance & Design catless downpipes, and a Stage 3 Premier Auto performance tune. A RENNtech electronic valve control module also allows for the driver to adjust the tone and volume of the exhaust system.  The engine is claimed to be capable of producing over 900 HP and the car has reportedly been dyno-tested at 730 HP to the wheels.  Power is transferred through a 9-speed AMG Speedshift multi-clutch transmission and the dynamic 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system with an electronic limited-slip differential.  An electronic suspension lowering module has also been installed and automatically lowers the vehicle when started in “Mode 3”.  All scheduled service is said to have been addressed and CARFAX shows a history of consistent maintenance through Mercedes-Benz dealers.
