Available here for auction is this 2019 Porsche 991.2 Speedster finished in Agate Grey Metallic over a special red full leather interior with Custom Tailoring.  Commemorating the end of the 991 generation while paying homage to Porsche’s legacy, the GT3-based 991.2 Speedster was built in a limited series of 1,948 examples worldwide.  This particular example, #1,027, is factory equipped with the Front Axle Lift System, Chrono Package, extended leather trim, and most notably over $65k worth of Custom Tailoring options. Perhaps one of the most generously equipped Speedsters of all, this 2019 example commanded an original sticker price of over $362k and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Illinois with little over 600 miles showing on the odometer.

The Agate Grey Metallic finish has been preserved with factory-applied transparent stone guards on the rear fenders as well as added paint protection film over the entire front end.  Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. This 991.2 harkens back to earlier Speedster models with its distinctive double-hump rear fairings and steeply raked windshield. Exclusive factory details on this example include painted side skirts, LED headlights in black, and 20” GT3 center-lock wheels in Satin Platinum.  The optional front axle lift system also enables the nose of the vehicle to be raised and lowered for extra clearance.

Inside, the cabin features special red leather upholstery, decorative stitching, and extended leather trim on the dashboard, door panels, and inner door sill guards.  Custom Tailoring details include even further use of leather trim, contrasting piping for the carbon-fiber bucket seats, a Speedster silhouette logo on the center armrest, illuminated doorsill guards in stainless steel, and Heritage-style instrument dials with green markings. An individualized limitation plaque also denotes this Speedster as #1,027 of 1,948 examples produced.  A detailed list of factory specifications is provided below:

Power comes from a high-revving, naturally aspirated 4.0L flat-six engine that develops up to 502HP and 346 lb.-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a mandated 6-speed GT Sport manual gearbox, allowing the sprint from 0 to 60 MPH to be accomplished in as little as 3.8 seconds with a top speed of over 190 MPH. The 991.2 Speedster utilizes the rigid lightweight chassis of the GT3 in conjunction with powerful Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) resulting in unprecedented handling and brutal stopping power. The CARFAX report shows a history of maintenance including a preemptive 10k mile service carried out by Porsche of South Bay California in January of 2021 at 521 miles, as well as a more recent service in April of 2021.

This Speedster will be accompanied by owner’s manuals and a clean title.  A true collector’s item as well as a testament to Porsche’s heritage and craftsmanship, this outstanding 991.2 Speedster presents a very special opportunity.

@jdf1271 Thank you. All the more worth while then to wait for the next release. BTW, +1 here on the Paint Correction/PPF SOP for new Porsches..

  • jdf1271 (registered bidder) 2 years, 10 monthsago

@PCARMARKET I understand I'm not saying it's not original paint, I'm just say porsche paint isn't great. I've seen this car in person several times, it's amazing, nothing wrong with the paint. At this price point and being a collector, paint correction is standard procedure, thus why I did mine.

  • jdf1271 (registered bidder) 2 years, 10 monthsago

@JAB12 That's awesome congrats! I have to say, most people say the speedster is the best porsche ever....and I would have to agree. it's just so special.

From what I've heard from people in the know with porsche, there will NOT be another speedster release in the 992 series. This 991.2 is the last of the speedsters. It's also the first and only GT car that is a convertible. It's also the only 991.2 GT car with this cup car engine...that's being used in the new 992 GT3. Having driven all the GT cars in the 991 series, this engine in the speedster is different, it's so much better than the others, so much more responsive and powerful at any RPM.

@jdf1271 The seller provided photos of the left side of the car inside of the show room with different lighting up to illustrate the paint matches perfectly. They were shadows outside when he shot the car causing a variation. Please see the bottom of the gallery

@Gman Porsches are known to not be painted too well. The more paint, the heavier the car lol....seriously. I've bought 2 brand new Porsches in the last 3 months and both had to have extensive paint correction, it's just part of owning. But once you paint correct, it's perfect. My speedster was brand new, took a week to correct, but it's worth it, it's a car that is an investment too. You have to protect it. My whole car is PPF, not sure why you'd only do front end on a speedster. My buddy is the best at paint correction, he gets priceless cars from all over the world.

  • JAB12 (registered bidder) 2 years, 10 monthsago

@jdf1271 Have not had the pleasure. Maybe on the next speedster release. Must be a joy to drive and admire. I CXX'd a highly optioned 9924S Manual Transmission.

  • jdf1271 (registered bidder) 2 years, 10 monthsago

@JAB12 did you CXX a speedster, what's in your garage? Just curious as a speedster owner myself. #672 to be exact.

    @ogdenlincoln thank you

  • ogdenlincoln (seller) 2 years, 11 monthsago

@Gman The paint is all original. There does not appear to be any paint flaw anywhere on the car. Also, the entire front end has had paint protection film applied.

  • Gman (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

Is the paint original? In the photo the LF fender appears lighter than the door.

  • JAB12 (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

@ogdenlincoln It's already in my garage and the dent is present in my bank account, that is why I can speak to how that process went. Also what is not shown on the finished product of this speedster and since the original ordering owner is not representing it for sale here, is the amount or work and effort that it takes to get these CXX options fulfilled with P.AG. That effort is priceless if you monetize it in hourly rates it would be through the roof. I can speak from experience on that. It pays off on the finished product look and feel, I hope it also pays off in this auction. Good luck again to all. Best...

  • ogdenlincoln (seller) 2 years, 11 monthsago

@JAB12 Thank you for your input! As you know from your experience the Special Wish Tailoring program is just that...very SPECIAL. Enjoy your CXX car when it arrives!

  • JAB12 (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

One more detail, the steering wheel deviated center ring is also most likely a CXX item together with the leather matching wrapped steering column.

  • JAB12 (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

@Crashklein My pleasure. I reviewed the photos a bit more. You can add to the CXX line item the sun visors in red leather to match. On the extended leather dashboard package, the deviated stitch and leather in locations such as side door sills and center rear tunnel with the deviated stitch, all that has to be added via CXX at an additional cost. You would think that on a limited run car such as a speedster all this stuff would be included but such is not the case. I have seen many of these in person at local events. This one is second to none. Good luck to all!

  • Crashklein (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

@JAB12 thanks for those details. Very well put!

  • JAB12 (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

Porsche, A.G. or PCNA would've sent the original owner a 'customization certificate' denoting the list of CXX options. Having been through this recently I can tell you in this example, the interior color and stitch, the floor mats, the center console etching image and logo, the shifter and boot color and stitch and all the leather accents and deviated stitch present everywhere in the car are part of that CXX line item as well as the door sills detail. from these photos I cannot tell what else but in Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur prices, a few little things quickly run the tab up so $65K doesn't get you a lot. For example to get your side mirrors painted in exterior PTS color it is $7K+ and to get your sport seats rear shell painted in PTS exterior color is $8900+ through the CXX program, so please do not think that because the line item notes $65K, the options were limitless. This is where P.AG and PCNA make their Christmas in July and sell the customized bespoke experience as God's gift to man. It's just the way it goes. This said, phenomenal example presented here and seller has done a good job. Good luck with Auctiion. Well worth the pennies...

@ogdenlincoln sorry to repeat the question asked by @5020love but I am hoping that you could list the actual special wish requests made by the original owner. Was it custom stitching? Or the red interior including all the red accents? A list of goodies would be appreciated.

@5020love The Porsche Special Wish program is similar to Ferrari’s Tailor Made program. The person ordering the car tells Porsche what color combinations they want, what options they want, tells them what unique ideas they want, and that then produces a car which is truly one of a kind.

  • jdf1271 (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

@AWRR You're totally right, I've seen it a few times, it's stunning! The red is amazing and goes perfect with the Agate! Definitely 1 of a kind I believe and a numbered car! As a speedster owner, I have to say, it's the amazing and best 911 ever!

  • 5020love (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

Hi - lm a little new to Porsche builds - have been more of a Ferrari person - so besides the piping on the seats, what else comes with the 65,000 in special tailoring - thanks for the education

  • ogdenlincoln (seller) 2 years, 11 monthsago

@Einm1 At this point, in order to be fair to all parties involved, we will need to let this auction run its course

  • ogdenlincoln (seller) 2 years, 11 monthsago

@Crashklein We just submitted additional images of the build sheet to PCAR, so I’m sure they will be able to post them when they are back in the office. Thanks!

  • Einm1 (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

hmmmm, want to trade for a very nice PTS GT3 touring and a 987 Spyder straight up...? :)
This car kind of blends those 2 cars together in my opinion..(although I have not driven one).

  • Crashklein (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

@ogdenlincoln can you please post a pic of the build sheet or any doc showing the options and cost of the options.
    Thanks

  • ogdenlincoln (seller) 2 years, 11 monthsago

@5020love We do not have the actual window sticker, but we have the build sheet which shows the options (also listed with option codes in this listing) and an MSRP of $362,065, including the $65,715 option for the Special Wish Custom Tailoring Option.

  • 5020love (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago
