Unveiled in 2018 for the 70th anniversary of Porsche, the latest 911 Speedster is a limited-edition model combining the chassis and 4.0-liter flat-six engine of the GT3 with the bodyshell of the Carrera 4 Cabriolet. It harks back to the original Porsche 911 Speedster of 1989 with its short, steeply raked windscreen and signature double-hump roof cover. It comes standard with a 6-speed manual transmission and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB). This example is one of only 1,948 produced in total and is presented in Carmine Red over a Black leather interior with Deviated Leather Edging and Stitching. It was highly optioned out with the Front Axle Lift System, Bose Surround Sound System, Carbon Fiber Full Bucket seats, Chrono Package, LED headlights in Black Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), SportDesign mirrors in carbon fiber, illuminated door sills in carbon fiber, seatbelts in Guards Red, Air Vent Surrounds paint to match, extended leather upholstery, and much more in selected options. Preserved in like-new condition with just 63 miles showing on the odometer, this 911 Speedster is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Virginia.
The 911 Speedster shares its bodyshell with the Carrera 4 Cabriolet and features a GT3-derived front and rear fascia, side skirts, and dual-center-mounted tailpipes. It is characterized by a low-profile windshield and a distinctive double-hump tonneau cover that conceals the manually operated convertible roof. The hood, fenders, and engine cover are made from carbon fiber. This example is finished in Carmine Red and comes with optional SportDesign mirrors with upper housings in carbon fiber and lower bases in high-gloss black. Other options include door handles in high-gloss black, LED headlights in black, window triangle trims in carbon fiber, a top-tinted windshield, and transparent stone guards on the rear fenders. It rides on factory 20” GT3 center-lock wheels in black with original Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean one-owner CARFAX report.
The cabin is appointed with Black leather upholstery and red deviated stitching including carbon fiber full bucket seats. Options include the Dashboard and Door Panel Trim Packages in Leather, sun visors in leather, a steering column casing in leather, inner door sill guards in leather, and center console tunnel sides in leather along with seatbelts in Guards Red, illuminated door sill guards in carbon fiber, a center console lid with an embossed Porsche crest, carbon fiber floor mats with deviated leather edging and stitching, and painted air vent surrounds with leather slats. Other options include the Chrono Package, Voice Control, auto-dimming mirrors, pedals and footrest in aluminum, Bose Surround Sound System, Light Design Package, 2-zone automatic climate control, Front Axle Lift System, an extended-range fuel tank, a luggage net in the passenger footwell, and a steering wheel with a 12 O’clock marker in red.
Derived from the contemporary GT3, the 911 Speedster’s naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine features individual throttle bodies, a titanium exhaust system, and an output of up to 502 HP and 346 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 6-speed GT Sport manual gearbox that provides acceleration from 0-60 MPH in less than 4 seconds. A limited-slip differential comes standard along with Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), rear-axle steering, dynamic engine mounts, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), and Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV). The CARFAX report shows some maintenance history including a battery replacement in 2022.
