Introduced as the pinnacle of Porsche’s 718 model range, the GTS offers 365 HP from its turbocharged 2.5L engine along with Sport Chrono Package and Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) as standard equipment. Wrapped in a removable satin film, this 2019 Cayman GTS comes finished in Guards Red over a Black leather and Alcantara interior. It features a 6-speed manual transmission as well as optional PASM Sport Suspension, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), Premium Package, and Adaptive Sport Seats Plus. Annually serviced and remaining under warranty, this GTS is now being offered for auction by its owner out of California showing just under 17k miles on the odometer.

This 718 comes finished in Guards Red with a removable satin paint protection film and vinyl Porsche-logo racing stripes. A rear model designation delete was selected from the factory along with optional door handles and a rear wing in high-gloss black. GTS models feature darkened trim for the headlights, taillights, and badging. The car rides on factory black painted 20” Carrera S wheels dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. One small imperfection is noted on the rear passenger-side rim and the seller notes that heat-insulating window tint has been applied.  Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The Black leather and Alcantara interior includes optional 18-way Adaptive Sport Seats Plus as well as the Light Design Package, BOSE Surround Sound System, and Premium Package.  Other options include seat heating, auto-dimming mirrors, a rain sensor, rear window wiper, two-zone automatic climate control, Porsche Entry & Drive, and Voice Control with Navigation and Porsche Connect.

The turbocharged 2.5-liter flat-four engine in this GTS develops up to 365 HP and 309 lb.-ft of torque, driving the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission.  The Sport Chrono Package comes standard along with brake-based Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV). This example also features optional Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) and PASM Sport Suspension which lowers the ride height by 20mm.  The car was sold as a Porsche Approve Certified Pre-Owned vehicle in 2020 and has annual maintenance history from Porsche San Diego. A 10k-mile service was completed in March of 2022 and the balance of a Porsche warranty remains in effect.

This sale will include a clean title (lien).

@WRENCH.56 That's funny. Well, I have not received any speeding tickets. I like the stripes because it breaks up the sea of red on the hood. The matte PPF is great at cutting down the brightness of the red, but it also highlights the lines of the car really nicely. I get a lot of compliments on the PPF

  • WRENCH.56 (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

One of the things I like about the matte film is that it makes a bright red car just a bit more stealth.
The stripe and lettering run counter to that more anonymous quality.
I know a guy who drove his Boxster with stripes AND numbers on the doors and frunk lid.
He got speeding tickets with remarkable frequency.

@WRENCH.56 Seems like people either love the stripes or hate them. There's no in between. The are applied over the PPF so they should come off.

I actually like the matte finish. Can’t stand the graphics though!
It could have been a press car. I got to drive a 2006 Cayman S press car for a day when they first came out and it had been delegated to the “B” level press circuit. I was greatly impressed.

@WRENCH.56 The black stripes and Porsche decals over the rocker panels are applied above the PPF. I believe they can be removed without removing the PPF, but I have not tried to do so. I'm not sure if it would cause a problem on the PPF or not. The PPF is a clear satin that makes the Guards Red look matte. It brings out the curves of the Cayman nicely, I think. I am the first registered owner of the car, but it was owned by Porsche North America and they put the first 10k miles on the car. Not sure what they did with it. Probably a press car or something. The 4 cylinder turbo is great. I really love it. I know the NA 6 cylinder is supposed to preferred by Porsche fans, but I like this turbo 4. The power is quick and it stays on throughout the rev range.

My bad! I noticed that the original color is indeed Guards Red.
Now the question is, can the black stripe and markings above the rocker panels be removed?
I assume that they live underneath the satin PPF, and cannot be removed without removing the satin PPF first, right?

  • WRENCH.56 (registered bidder) 1 year, 9 monthsago

I noticed that the first entry on the Carfax report indicates 10,00 miles followed by a re-sell with a CPO warranty. There is no info on the prior ownership. Can you shed any light on that subject?
Is the satin PPF colored or transparent? If the former, what is the original color?
Nice car! I've not yet driven a 4 cylinder Cayman or Boxster, but being as I live at 7,000 ft. altitude, I'll bet the turbo setup would do wonders for me!
