The Vanderhall Carmel is a three-wheeled autocycle roadster hand-built by Vanderhall Motor Works in Provo, Utah. The Carmel is constructed on an aluminum monocoque chassis weighing 1,595 pounds and is powered by a GM-sourced 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 194 HP mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. This 2020 example was ordered in Vintage Silver Metallic at the GT trim level, equipping a tan V-Tex leatherette interior, paddle shifters, and 10-spoke 19” wheels with a machined face. Showing just over 1k miles on the odometer and remaining under its factory warranty, this Carmel GT is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Ohio.
This example is finished in Vintage Silver Metallic and is said to have been stored in a heated garage beneath a custom cover while never driven in inclement weather. Exterior equipment includes a Raven Black removable hardtop, suicide-style doors for easier entry and egress, LED headlamps and taillights, black roll hoops, a black fuel filler cap, black side mirrors, side-exit exhaust pipes, and a vented hood. The 19” 10-spoke machined faced wheels are mounted with Federal 595RS-RR competition tires.
The interior is upholstered with tan V-Tex leatherette including bolstered manually-adjustable heated bucket seats. Amenities include a Bluetooth-enabled 200-watt Kicker audio system, a heater, stainless steel cup holders, upholstered door pulls, cruise control, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, safety belts, push-button ignition, drilled aluminum pedals, and a drilled passenger footrest.
A GM-sourced 1.5L turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine produces up to 194 HP and 203 lb.-ft of torque, sent to the front wheels through a 6-speed GM6T40 automatic transmission. The Carmel can accelerate from 0-60 MPH in 4.5 and reach a claimed top speed of almost 140 MPH. Performance features include a Formula One-inspired pushrod suspension with uneven-length aluminum control arms, traction control, and disc brakes with automatic grade braking. This Carmel GT remains under the coverage of its original manufacturer's warranty.
This sale will include a clean title.

It is amazing to me how approachable, or usable, these modern factory assembled vehicles can be. Truly super car performance while not being frightening to operate at any speed. The door arrangement makes these that much more friendly, and fun!
With front wheel drive its more like a modern Berkeley..and that's a good thing. What a fun car.
With both wheels pulling the Vanderhall, as well as having traction control, it is quite nice and controllable under heavy acceleration. When you want/need to slow down, the brakes are strong and linear. Fun to YouTube vanderhall vs slingshot….
Sort of a civilized Morgan, which may be an oxymoron. An interesting ride, I suspect.
