We are pleased to offer this 2021 BMW F87 M2 Competition finished in Hockenheim Silver Metallic over a black leather interior with blue accents. This M2 Competition was designed and customized by the BMW Car Club of America in collaboration with Turn 14 Distribution to be offered as the grand prize of their 2021 Dream Car raffle. Beginning with a new M2 Competition 6-speed, Turn 14 Distribution installed over $73k worth of high-end performance upgrades including an Akropovic titanium exhaust system, 18” BBS RIA forged wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, a carbon-fiber hood, trunk lid, and roof, Fall-Line Motorsports suspension components, a rear seat delete and roll bar, Moton three-way adjustable coilovers, StopTech Gen V front and rear big brakes, Sparco QRT Performance leather and Alcantara seats, a Garrett intercooler and Koyo heat exchanger, and much, much more. Showing under 500 miles on the odometer, this one-of-a-kind M2 Competition is now being offered at auction by its owner based out of New York.

This M2 was ordered in Hockenheim Silver Metallic (C33) with gloss black Shadowline window trim and gloss black kidney grilles. Equipment includes an Akrapovic carbon-fiber rear diffuser with carbon-fiber exhaust tips, Akrapovic carbon-fiber mirror caps, a paint-matched BMW M Performance carbon-fiber trunk lid and M2 CS carbon-fiber hood, an M Performance front lip, an iND carbon-fiber roof panel, and iND paint-matched reflectors. Silver Stoptech Gen V brake calipers sit behind the custom 18” BBS RIA wheels, which are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires and fastened by Future Classic titanium studs. The car has been kept in a garage beneath a cover and the seller notes some very light scratches on the underside of the carbon-fiber front lip. The front license plate bracket is mounted with two 1/8" holes drilled into the underside of the grille, additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. The original wheels will accompany the sale.

The cabin has been fitted with Sparco QRT Performance leather and Alcantara seats featuring blue 4-point Sparco harnesses.  The rear seats have been removed in favor of a Fall-Line Motorsports bolt-in roll cage, which has been paint-matched to the exterior color. This M2 was optioned with the Executive Package, which provides a rear-view camera, rear parking sensors, a heated multi-function steering wheel, a suite of safety and driver-assist systems, adaptive full LED headlights with automatic high beams, speed-limit display, wireless charging, and WiFi hotspot. The original seats will accompany the sale, although the bases, rails, trims, and seatbelt recievers are not included.

The M2 Competition is powered by an upgraded 3.0L twin-turbocharged S55 inline-six which produces a claimed output of up to 473 WHP and just under 500 lb.-ft of torque. Modifications include an Akrapovic Titanium Evolution Line exhaust system with carbon-fiber tips and Akrapovic Sound Kit for volume management, BMC drop-in air filters, a RaceChip GTS Black engine software, a Koyo heat exchanger, and a Garrett intercooler. The rear wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission. Suspension components include Moton three-way adjustable coilovers with remote reservoirs, Fall-Line Motorsports toe link kit, front and rear sway bar end-link kits, as well as a rear camber shim kit, rear upper control arm bearing kit, harness collars, and a front mono ball conversion.

This sale will include the original window sticker, owner's literature, factory seats, the original set of wheels, and a clean title. A no-expense-spared build using only the most high-quality parts available, this M2 Competition BMW CCA Edition is not to be overlooked

IMHO, this should have met reserve at his price. Not saying it wouldn’t cost more to duplicate, but the “value” is just not there for a non-CS M2.

FYI , just so there are no question later I wanted to draw attention to the pictures of stock bucket seats and wheels. One seat has a tiny "dent" in the headrest - you can see it in the picture. It must have been leaning on something when Turn14 and the shop that had these stored. I haven't tried to do anything with it. Don't know what can be done. There isn't any damage to the leather. Just seems like the foam under it is compressed.

  • GOuimet01 (seller) 2 years, 2 monthsago

@Fooshe also, as comfortable as the Sparco seats are, I think the sock bucket that come with this bid will help with that too. It's always an option to reinstall them.

  • GOuimet01 (seller) 2 years, 2 monthsago

@Fooshe you can always adjust the coil-overs and dampening

I was going to bid on this, but in driving on the SoCal streets this morning, they convinced me this may not be the right car for this neck of the woods. Maybe someone with a set of younger kidneys can tolerate that kind of violence without repercussions.

  • Zfirst1 (registered bidder) 2 years, 2 monthsago

@Cody_fred agree, this looks kluged and very out of place for what is otherwise an impeccable build. For an advertised value more than double the MSRP of the base M2C, another solution is needed. That said, everything else about the build is just about perfect for a fun track weapon—undoubtedly a tick slower than a comparable DCT car, but oh so much more fun to row your own gears!

  • GOuimet01 (seller) 2 years, 2 monthsago

@HelpMeHelpU OK, I just went out to look, the roll bar all looks plug and play to me. And even though the bases for the seats weren't with the buckets I picked up in Pennsylvania they appear to be in the car :) ... under the racing seats. The racing seats work with the electric slide mechanism for fore and aft adjustment , you can see the buttons in the pictures.

  • GOuimet01 (seller) 2 years, 2 monthsago

@HelpMeHelpU As far as I know, no track time certainly not by me). If you look at the picture you will see that the bottom components of the seats (rails etc) look to be under the racing seats. I don't know a lot about the roll bar installation but as far as I can tell by inspecting I didn't see any cuts or unusual modifications - I can look again. The "rear seat delete" kit appears to be plug and play. In terms of where the rest of the stuff is I don't know why the rear seat and all the trim/panel/ and other parts were not made available. All of that was organized between BMW CCA and Turn14. I've tried to track them down, but the shop that was storing the seats and the wheels/tires in Pennsylvania didn't have any information.

  • HelpMeHelpU (registered bidder) 2 years, 2 monthsago

Do you know whether the cage installation required cutting any OEM parts or pieces? Do you know what the installers did with the rear seats and why they are not available? Same with the front seat components--bases, rails, trims, and seatbelt receivers. Why are they not included?

Do you know whether anyone has driven the car on track yet?

  • Fooshe (registered bidder) 2 years, 2 monthsago

@HelpMeHelpU ...ok, I see where you are coming from. Yeah, the DCT does it better than us mortals and surely yields a better lap time...sad, but true. As for this build, I think it was more to show off what can be done and what is available for the car. Is it the ideal set up for the track, I would say no. However, it is extremely potent and more capable than the stock version, of course.

  • HelpMeHelpU (registered bidder) 2 years, 2 monthsago

@Fooshe Thanks for your thoughts. I understand the basics. I have several MT cars, including those I drive on track, and I much prefer MT for the street. But if I was buying or building a track-focused car, and such was available with a really good non-manual transmission (i.e. PDK, DCT, etc.), I would likely select it. (And I agree about the theft deference of MT!)

  • Fooshe (registered bidder) 2 years, 2 monthsago

@HelpMeHelpU ... My guess would be because a MT is simply more engaging for the track and puts you more in tune with the car. Yes, the DCT is probably "faster" in a couple of ways, but I feel that you take away some of the pure joy and skills used rowing through the gears which (in some ways) takes away the point. I like it to the person who says "why do I need to learn the math formula to figure this out when i can just use a calculator." Those who know understand this comparison. Also, the MT is one more anti-theft feature from millennial car thieves.

@991.1GT3 PS - the last three pictures on the right hand side of this listing show all the documents I have from BMW CCA, aside from the title, taxes paid and and my win letter. Thanks!

  • GOuimet01 (seller) 2 years, 2 monthsago

@991.1GT3 sorry for some of the grammar, I should have proof read a little more. :)

  • GOuimet01 (seller) 2 years, 2 monthsago

@991.1GT3 , Hi, a great question. I inquired with Turn14 and this is the response I received, and unfortunately and all the information I can provide.
    "Hello George,
Unfortunately, regarding your request for invoices, this is not something we have to provide. BMW CCA contracted us to build and create marketing assets for the car they purchased for their raffle. As a wholesale distributor, we did not purchase any of these parts but sourced support from our vendor partners to provide sponsored products for the build (including labor.) BMW CCA determined the advertised value of the car <$135,000> based on the vehicle’s MSRP and the retail value of the product we provided, but that was not something set by us. As far as documentation, the entirety of the build was filmed for the BMW CCA. The six-part episodes can be found on their YouTube, documenting the entire process.
Just to give you some insight on the warranty, aftermarket parts are protected by the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. This law prevents dealers from denying warranty for simply having an aftermarket part or modifying your vehicle. They would have to proof beyond a reasonable doubt that the aftermarket part caused the failure that needed repair in order to deny a warranty claim. "
    Thanks,
    Paul Telesca
    Marketing Manager

I have been communicating with about the same question with BMW CCA since before I took delivery of the car. If you are a BMW CCA member I encourage you to reach out to them. Thank you!

  • 991.1GT3 (registered bidder) 2 years, 2 monthsago

Are there any written warranties from the shop that did the modifications? I checked with two BMW dealers and they said the new car warranty is voided due to the tubing and power train upgrades.

  • GOuimet01 (seller) 2 years, 2 monthsago

@HelpMeHelpU I think there might be someone from the club on the NA M2 FB page that can answer that ... (JG). I personally like driving an MT but I understand what you are saying about the DCT...

  • HelpMeHelpU (registered bidder) 2 years, 2 monthsago

What I don’t understand is why the club built this track in MT instead of DCT, which seems like it would have made more sense. The MT is more engaging for sure but not optimized for track, as it appears the rest of the build has been focused.

  • DieselM333 2 years, 2 monthsago

Man this car!!!!! I bought a few raffle tickets to this beast. If I win this, will you refund me the $75 I paid in raffle tickets!! Lol!! What an amazing build. This car needs to be driven and very hard.

  • GOuimet01 (seller) 2 years, 2 monthsago

@Cody_fred Came to me that way. Who ever installed them, I believe the Moton tech did the work according to the Turn14 video.

  • GOuimet01 (seller) 2 years, 2 monthsago

Hi All: I wanted to mention that the racing seats are connected to the stock seat tracks and that you can see it in the pictures of the interior .... so the buckets/racing seats appear to be "bolt on" to the existing base/tracks. The forward and backwards adjustments are done electronically for both. You can see the buttons on the side of the seat bases. Thanks!

  • Cody_fred (registered bidder) 2 years, 2 monthsago

Who’s bright idea what’s it to put zip ties around the carbon fiber strut under the hood photo 50/70 seems like a good way to ruin the clean look and scratch that beautiful large weave carbon.

Also, this car has a 6-speed manual transmission!!

  • GOuimet01 (seller) 2 years, 2 monthsago

Hi all! Welcome to my auction! One clarification. The original bucket seats in the picture are all I have from Turn14. Just the seats, and no back seat. No trim, tracks, bases or OEM seat belts. I do have the original wheels and tires to sell with the car - which look like they have no miles on them. The tires mounted on the 18" BBS rims and installed on the car are Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2's. The tires on the original 788M Y spoke rims are Michelin Pilot Super Sports. I think the original seats and rims/tires are probably worth $5-6K by themselves. Please ask me any questions you have! Thank you!
