Designed as the ultimate track-ready version of the AMG GT, the Black Series features the most powerful engine ever offered by AMG, along with extensive use of carbon fiber and aluminum, race-proven aerodynamics, carbon-ceramic brakes, and an adjustable track-oriented suspension.  In November of 2020, the Black Series became the fastest road-going production vehicle to lap the Nürburgring Nordschleife.  One of the rarest, most sought after, and highly anticipated supercars on the market, this 2021 AMG GT Black Series is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida with just over 500 miles traveled from new.

This AMG GT Black Series is finished in Magma Beam Orange (959), a striking color optioned at an additional cost of $9,900. The Black Series features active aerodynamics stemming from the current AMG GT3 race car, including a larger radiator air inlet with dark chrome vertical slats, a 2-way adjustable carbon-fiber front spoiler, additional carbon-fiber splitters on the bumper feeding air to towards the wheels, a carbon-fiber hood with two large air outlets, vented carbon-fiber fenders, a carbon-fiber finned rear diffuser, and a two-stage twin-blade carbon-fiber rear spoiler. The underside of the AMG GT Black Series is also clad with flat carbon fiber panels with longitudinal fins that assist in pushing air out from under the vehicle into the rear diffuser. Mercedes-Benz AMG claims the aero package results in 882 lbs. of downforce at 155 MPH. The roof and rear hatch are also comprised of carbon fiber, and along with a lightweight laminated front windshield, helps the Black Series shed 77 lbs. from the standard AMG GT.  This Black Series rides on 19”/20” AMG forged 10-spoke wheels mounted with special high-performance Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R MO tires.

The cabin is upholstered in Black Exclusive Nappa leather with DINAMICA suede accents and orange contrast stitching carrying throughout the seats, center console, door panels, dashboard, and headliner. Matte carbon-fiber trim surrounds the center console and center vents, and the optional matte carbon-fiber crossbar sits behind the driver and passenger. A 10.3” central touchscreen display features Mercedes COMAND navigation, Apple CarPlay, and Sirius XM satellite radio. The optional Burmester 10-speaker surround sound system with a 640-watt 10-channel digital amplifier was also selected. The suede-wrapped flat-bottomed AMG Performance multi-function steering wheel sits ahead of a 12.3” digital gauge cluster with three AMG-specific displays that change depending on the selected drive mode, with animated presentations of the driving assistance, vehicle, and communication systems.

The AMG GT Black Series is powered by a hand-built M178 LS2 4.0L Biturbo V8 engine featuring a flat-plane crankshaft, upgraded camshafts and exhaust manifolds, and larger compressor wheels inside the turbochargers that allow for up to 24.6 psi of boost.  As much as 720 HP and 590 lb.-ft of torque are delivered to the rear wheels through a specialized 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with an electronic limited-slip differential. The Black Series is capable of reaching 60 MPH from a standstill in approximately 3 seconds with a top speed of over 200 MPH. This model also comes equipped with an AMG Ride Control coilover suspension system with 3-stage adjustable damping, front and rear camber adjustment, an adjustable carbon-fiber front sway bar, a coiled carbon-fiber active transmission mount, a carbon-fiber driveshaft, and a carbon-fiber torque tube that creates a stiff connection between the engine and transmission. The Black Series offers a highly customizable driving experience with AMG DYNAMIC SELECT, which allows the driver to select traction control, dampening, throttle, and transmission characteristics through an LCD screen and controller integrated into the steering wheel.
