The Shelby GT500 stands as the pinnacle of the sixth-generation Ford Mustang lineup, featuring a handcrafted supercharged "Predator" V8 engine, assertive aerodynamics, and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission that renders it the fastest accelerating Mustang ever in production history. Finished in Dark Matter Gray Metallic over an Ebony leather interior, this 2022 example was ordered with the desirable Carbon Fiber Track Pack, epitomizing the GT500’s performance at nearly a quarter of the Shelby’s base price. Showing just 11 miles on the odometer, this GT500 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New Jersey.
The GT500 features distinctive front and rear fascias with functional splitters and wire mesh grills, a rear wing, and a vented bonnet with self-centering hood pins. Opted for at a cost of over $18k, the Carbon Fiber Track Pack adds a revised front fascia with splitter wickers, a manually adjustable carbon fiber rear wing, and 20” exposed carbon fiber wheels mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. This example comes finished in Dark Matter Gray Metallic. Details include quad exhaust outlets, LED lighting with sequential turn signals, and red Brembo brake calipers. Inside, the driver is greeted by Recaro sport seats trimmed in Ebony leather with Gray accents as well as a carbon fiber dashboard and rear seat deletion as part of the Carbon Fiber Package. The optional Technology Package adds a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, blind spot detection with cross-traffic alerts, and a voice-activated touchscreen navigation system. Additional features include an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, a customizable 12" digital LCD gauge cluster, aluminum foot pedals, and automatic climate control.
The most powerful engine ever fitted in a production Mustang, the Shelby GT500 is equipped with a supercharged 5.2-liter “Predator” V8 producing up to 760 HP and 625 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, providing acceleration from 0-60 MPH in 3.4 seconds to a top speed of 180 MPH. Performance features include electronic power-assisted steering, an engine oil cooler, an independent rear suspension, launch control/line lock, Ford Track Apps for recording telemetry and performance data, a Magenride adaptive dampening suspension, 6-piston front and 4-piston rear Brembo brake calipers over vented discs, and a Torsen limited-slip differential. The Carbon Fiber Track Pack also adds adjustable strut top mounts. The seller adds that an oil change has been performed, and this vehicle remains under the balance of it's factory warranty.
