The Shelby GT500 represents the range-topping version of the sixth-generation Ford Mustang, equipped with a hand-built supercharged “Predator” V8 engine, aggressive aerodynamics, and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission making it the fastest accelerating Mustang ever produced. This 2022 example was ordered as a Heritage Edition, finished in Brittany Blue Metallic with painted Wimbledon White over-the-top stripes, and was additionally optioned with the Carbon Fiber Track Pack and Technology Package. It was delivered new to Doug Gray Ford of Sayre, Oklahoma, and has yet to be registered to its first owner. Showing just 15 delivery miles, this 2022 Shelby GT500 Heritage Edition is now being offered at auction by its seller out of California.

This Mustang is finished in Brittany Blue Metallic (EB), a historic Ford color used since the late 1960s. The Heritage Edition Package equips painted over-the-top racing stripes in Wimbledon White at a cost of over $12k, said to have been inspired by the livery of the original 1967 GT500. Equipment includes a unique vented bonnet with hood pins, automatic HID projector headlamps, sequential LED taillights, manually folding power-adjustable mirrors, red brake calipers with white Brembo logos, and a polished quad-tipped dual exhaust. The optional Carbon Fiber Track Pack, selected at a cost of $18,500, equips an exposed carbon fiber GT4 rear spoiler, carbon fiber side sills, and 20” exposed carbon fiber wheels mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 performance tires. The interior features Recaro sport seats trimmed in Ebony leather with Grey accents, deleted rear seats, and a carbon fiber instrument panel as equipped by the Carbon Fiber Track Pack. Driver amenities include an Alcantara-wrapped multifunction steering wheel with paddle shifters and a gray 12 o’clock marking, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a 12” digital instrument cluster, push-button ignition, remote keyless entry, an 8” touchscreen infotainment system with Ford SYNC 3, and a rearview camera. The optional Technology Package provides a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, voice-activated navigation, and the Blind Spot Information System with cross-traffic alert.

The most powerful engine ever fitted in a production Mustang, the Shelby GT500 is equipped with a supercharged 5.2-liter “Predator” V8 producing up to 760 HP and 625 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, allowing acceleration from 0-60 MPH in 3.4 seconds with a governed top speed of 180 MPH. Performance features include electronic power-assisted steering, an engine oil cooler, an independent rear suspension, launch control/line lock, Ford Track Apps for recording telemetry and performance data, a Magenride adaptive dampening suspension, 6-piston front and 4-piston rear Brembo brake calipers over vented discs, and a Torsen limited-slip differential. The Carbon Fiber Track Pack also adds adjustable strut top mounts.
